come to my mcdonald’s 😂 it’s a new store and everything keeps breaking. i’ve had to work at multiple new stores after a natural disaster and you would think that it would be smooth as butter but no my friend, it’s a nightmare.
Also it does a similar thing for the ice cream machine , but it’s not after every order . That’s one of the reasons it’s down a lot , it goes into cleaning mode and you can’t do anything about it . It’s really dumb
1:26 That automatic rinsing thing is so cool! I work at a Panera Bread and when he make barista drinks we have to rinse it all out ourselves with water. A rinser like that could save a lot of time lol
The best and most impressive thing about McDonald’s kitchens, coming from a former restaurant owner and manager for years, I love how well thought out and custom the spaces are, and all the little Knick knacks, spatulas, trays, dispensers, rinsers, all kinds of things that are custom to them. You can’t just walk into a restaurant depot store and buy a McDonald’s little foot by foot dispenser/holder/whatever we see on here. You can’t find it, but to a McDonald’s kitchen, it’s SUPER important.
It also allows people to jump to a different destination and instantly know how to do the things because it's all the same. I guess when you're nb 1 getting it all custom isnt that hard lol.
I've bought a lot of McDonalds kitchenware and dining area items from the 80s and 90s off eBay every now and then when I need something, so I might almost have a mcdonalds kitchen soon. lol
I love watching the drive thru breakfast pov videos. I wish they was longer. I don't know why, but they are just so satisfying, and relaxing to watch. LoL
It's crazy how clean that Mcdonalds is mine is always so dirty. I also thought it was so cool that you used the same method I use for making 2 small slushies. One large slushies for 2 and the spin on the whip cream is always a must. You got to show us the latte machine some time!
Wow! Had no clue the slushies were made one at a time in a blender thingy. I always assumed it came out of a dispenser like the slurpee machines at a 7-11 or gas stations.
Some of the newer slushees like the strawberry watermelon and the tropical mango come from the blender. The blue raspberry, wild cherry, and the frozen coke/dr pepper come from the dispenser
You can actually make more than 1 at a time , I’ve made 3 at a time in that blender , just need more syrup and the blender can dispense ice based on the amount . That blender can make like 3 drinks at once .it’s also the same machine they use for frappes and smoothies
The details, it's all about the details. The spouts on the slush concentrate pumps being at 6pm and 9pm positions, to line up with the bumps in the blender tub - that's efficiency right there
it’s cool seeing how different locations differ across the country. i work at a mcdonald’s in tennesse and our building is a lot wider and is set up completely different! there’s a few others owned by the same owner as mine and all the buildings are slightly different from one another.
I worked at Jack In The Box 20 years ago everything was done manually I don’t think McDonald’s employees know how good they got it everything is automated especially McDonald’s very impressive that’s why McDonald’s is the best at what they do.
I mean this video is 3 minutes long. You’ll be doing this same thing, but multiply it by 120 times as long, for 1/4 of your pay. Probably 6 or 7 days a week for years. Still want to do that? Then do it.
If I were to work fast food, I would pick a healthier place like chick fil a or chipotle because all those free meals at McDonald's will make you feel like crap.
These kind of videos give me inspiration to not stop studying harder to get my degree so I don’t have to do that or a worse job than that for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for uploading 🙏
Also uses the same exact magnets to attach the the plate that rinses it off too , the magnets when making the drinks let’s it sit it place a lot better
To all people who have never worked in a restaurant. Things may/can look appear easy. But as soon as you have a call off, or 2, things go downhill very fast. And with labor and food cost worries? The easiest stores to run successfully are high volume stores. Call offs aren't felt because of so many employees on the clock. And you're normally prepared for rushes because it's always busy.
The most important part is, do not forget the toy. I hate it when you all forget the toy. I'm watching this after I got home from McDonald's and low and behold both Happy meals was missing their toy. My neighbor works there and she said she would drop me off to toys after her shift ends today so it's actually pretty cool. I am enjoying your videos and keep up the good work.
i dont think I'd be able to work in that tight of a spot with other people, I'm highly claustrophobic. Thanks for doing the work and showing us how it happens!
i cant work with other people period. i do landscaping on a golf course and i'm always by myself in the wide open air and nobody even knows i'm there except for the time clock in the check-in booth.
Bro the machine that cleans the container you make the slushies in is so cool! Makes me wonder how many innovations McDonald's has come up with to make things more efficient
Your McDonald’s is so nice 🥺 at our location I have to take drive-thru orders and make all of the coffees, smoothies, slushes, and ice creams simultaneously 😔 I heard our sister location has a person for every station.. must be so nice 😭
Wow your milkshake machine throws it out much slower than in the store i worked. Mine did it like 4x faster sometimes it wouldn't stop and you would have a mess to clean up😂
Guess it depends on the location but I worked at McDonalds in High School and was very similar to you, didn't want to deal with customers and made that pretty clear. In my case when they interviewed me I said I only wanted to do kitchen, and they hired me. They did ask over time if I wanted to be trained in service but I always said no and that was that.
i'd like to see the relatively-automated soda dispenser in action - more detailed than what i see looking thru the drive-thru window. i want to also get an understanding how the employee might be getting my soda order wrong maybe a quarter of the time. diet cokes i order are sometimes dr peppers and unclear if diet or sugared dr pepper at that.
The machine at the store I worked is tied to the order taker terminal so it dispenses the right size cup, places into a conveyor, maneuvers under the ice then soda tap and dispenses the respective amount of ice and soda. If the enter it wrong, connect the syrup wrong, or just grab the wrong one you'll get the wrong drink. Also sometimes the machine will fail and the need to manually dispense your drink.
I’m confused why you don’t take an extra few seconds especially at 2:15 and get the remaining smoothie juice out of the blender. If a customer saw an unfilled cup and then see the wasted drink, I would want you to remake it and fill it correctly. I’m sure many of us are happy to wait just a bit longer for it. I had too many experiences of drinks not being filled correctly and then having to ask them to fill them up. Anyway, good video.
I don’t get out much these days, but every once in a while I must have a daily double. I had one yesterday with fries which are meh to me. I much prefer the hash browns. Those slushy drinks looked interesting too.
I wish we had that smoothie machine, we gotta wash out blenders with a spray head and you get behind real quick if you have multiple orders and no clean blenders.
I love all the machines that make life easier at McDonald's. Like the sause dispensers and that cool washing station for the blender.
I seriously want one of those washing things for the blender
