"Middle earth ain't nothin but middle America!". 😂😂😂🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Kev’s list is in point! Joe is VERY underrated! I’ve always been a fan!
"When Sunday Comes" is just THAT SONG! Saaaaaang Daryl!
Another good episode. My male vocalists would also Joe (saw him in concert he was amazing), Anthony Hamilton, Luther, (agree with Angel) young MJ, Babyface.
Now the Black church. So much to unpack and as a Baptist girl, just wish we could have honest discussions about the abuse of power by SOME pastors, dysfunctional relationships with the (male) pastor & congregation and how their behavior is often excused. The lack of accountability is giving cult. Based on the reviews, I plan to watch Honk for Jesus. 👍🏽
I loved the movie. I knew exactly what pastor they were talking about and it was too real and on point
I went back and listened to some Joe... And man I agree his voice is like 1M count Egyptian Cotton
Kev, Angel, did Regina and Sterling not act their behinds off🙌🏾🙌🏾
Regina K. Hall brought the house down. Also my favorite story telling device was that their last name was Childs. There is no PR person that could fix a last name like Childs being associated with a sec scandal.
Angel why would you preface your El Debarge pick with "This may sound crazy"? El can sang! That is a legit pick 👏🏾 👌🏾
Heeey Unruly Cousins, so glad to see y'all 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️ Regina did her thang on Honk for Jesus as 1st Lady and she was Fire in 9 Perfect Strangers on Hulu also!!! The scenes with her Mama and their bedroom and his sermon review, she GAVE!!! And Sterling was Amazing, as he always is, as a Arrogant,Selfish and Narcissistic Pastor! His re-Baptism scene was ALOT 🤯 Great vlog Kev, Angel and Josh!!!
Angel is so agile and smooth with the ads. Genius
Just bought a subscription to peacock after watching half of this review.
I love how Angel naturally drops in with the rando intermissions for the quick commercial breaks. 🤣
I really enjoyed this discourse about the movie and "the church". Thank you guys. Y`all are awesome! Great podcast.
Ooohh… early upload!
Aaaaye
*Kev looking like one of my Muslim homies that just came out of prison in the thumbnail* 😂
Luke James. Phenomenal vocalist.
Bringing Mr. Michael McDonald into the chat👏🏾👏🏾
I ain't mad at all, Homie. Micheal McDonald and Hall and Oates (John n' Darryl) are most definitely welcome to join into the choir sing a long, most definitely 👌🏾
It was like a Jordan Peele movie. So many layers and I’m confused about some things. I’ll have to watch it again.
It’s so funny you say that because; if I’m not mistaken, he is one of the producers on the film
6am upload. It’s a blessing 💯
The film was great at having the audience feel uncomfortable. The previews seemed like it was strictly comedy, at least to me.
I didn't realize this was as short (Honk For Jesus). On the Hoorae page, from 2019. Most of the scenes were done exactly in the movie.
Honk for Jesus reminds me about Pastor Eddie long story but his church was still full after the scandal
Tonex IS #1 on vocals!!! That gift is undeniable!
my wedding song was "all that I am" by Joe he has one of the purest voices and I have seen him at least 10 times never a bad note!
Man, I hate the word "woke" with a passion now. I completely forgot it was a blk word the way the YTs use it in every situation.
Some of my favorites: #1. Ron Isley everybody else is in no particular order...I agree with Angel as far as young Michael. Then I have Maxwell, Raphael Saadiq and Charlie Wilson - I love their voices
Charlie Wilson's vocals on "Wednesday Lover" are pure gold.
Kev that was a GREAT list!!! I literally can’t argue with it cause that’s actually my list too. To the TEE 😂😂
Get that Draft Kings bag, Kev and Angel!👏🏿
Angel be ON POINT with the ads! 💪🏾👏🏾🤣
Luther stan here... Please stop saying Luther is a cover artist like he didn't write his own hits. The man writes and sings background vocals on many a song you don't know. He just happens to cover other people's songs and do it better. And some of those covers, he wrote them, like "So Amazing" sung by Dionne Warwick.
I have been waiting for this commentary since I saw the film!
Bslade stays on rotation!!!! Great voice, amazing lyrics, there is feeling behind his voice.
"Their fantasy is no niggas" is so funny
Top 5 male vocalist
1. Anthony Hamilton
2. Dino(from H Town RIP)
3. Mali Music
4. John Legend
5. Luther Vandross
The only unrealistic part of honk for Jesus was the congregation leaving!
Right!
I haven't seen the film yet, but this analysis is spot on regarding the church.
Top male vocalist: not in this order but...Luther Vandross, Darryl Coley, Maxwell, Tank/Usher tie, and Avery Wilson. Honorable mention: Carl Thomas (fight me)
I love JOE as well. I'm seeing him at the Puyallup fair on the 21st. I'm so stoked!!
Wow, y’all gone leave Sisqo out like that? 🤯 #unleashthedragon 😂
Not y’all mixing up Paul and Peter 😂😂
BTW, Peacock is an awesome investment! Can't beat the price for what you get.
I definitely felt like another episode was going to follow, like we need an ending to the sequel. I thought the acting was great. Regina Hall played First Lady to a T.
That bonus episode on the app was hilarious. It's Wednesday so Kev, Angel, and Josh in the house.
