I have to say, this friendship is so inspiring to me. A lot of folk feel like men and women can’t genuinely be friends. This relationship is so purely platonic but loving and I aspire to gain more friendships with people who have pure intentions and wanna see me win, regardless of gender 💜

I think the movie did exactly what it needed to do ...open eyes, offend the super "churched" and get some conversations going. I think a testament to how immaculate Usher's voice is came out on his Tiny Desk performance. There's a part where he tries out the "Superstar" challenge and one of his backup singers Eric Bellinger sings the part first. Eric does an amazing job to and you can tell he's a very talented singer...Then Usher does it using the same notes but his version is just levels ahead and about as smooth as a melted milkshake. I think the film felt complete. There's a point where Angel mentions how the co-pastors used the date. That's it. They rise, the others fall. What would be a complete ending? She wasn't going to leave, the cases were settled, I guess they wanted to see what Trinty and Lee Curtis do next, but I don't think it's important to see them move cities or go to a smaller church or find diff jobs or whatever. It was like an independent film where you just have to use the context to know the end.
And I knew the pastor's type the moment they flashed to his sermon condemning a community of people? It was a hit dog hollering speech, he was so impassioned , I guessed there and then.

Another good episode. My male vocalists would also Joe (saw him in concert he was amazing), Anthony Hamilton, Luther, (agree with Angel) young MJ, Babyface.
Now the Black church. So much to unpack and as a Baptist girl, just wish we could have honest discussions about the abuse of power by SOME pastors, dysfunctional relationships with the (male) pastor & congregation and how their behavior is often excused. The lack of accountability is giving cult. Based on the reviews, I plan to watch Honk for Jesus. 👍🏽

Regina K. Hall brought the house down. Also my favorite story telling device was that their last name was Childs. There is no PR person that could fix a last name like Childs being associated with a sec scandal.

The scenes with her Mama and their bedroom and his sermon review, she GAVE!!! And Sterling was Amazing, as he always is, as a Arrogant,Selfish and Narcissistic Pastor! His re-Baptism scene was ALOT 🤯 Great vlog Kev, Angel and Josh!!!

Luther stan here... Please stop saying Luther is a cover artist like he didn't write his own hits. The man writes and sings background vocals on many a song you don't know. He just happens to cover other people's songs and do it better. And some of those covers, he wrote them, like "So Amazing" sung by Dionne Warwick.
