One thing I notice in a lot of churches in my country (America), the new ones have Christian rock groups. Not for me. Having said that you check out the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
@@KevinDavis338 In my opinion rock groups don't fit in a church. A church needs a powerful (pipe) organ. I haven't noticed it in my country (Germany) yet, and I also hope that this will be remaining in the future.
I won't lie. There's something magical about the music of a pipe organ that just resonates harmoniously with your soul, be it calling to all ye faithful, or to soothe the bloody tears that fall upon its keys. The pipe organ is timeless and time-honored, and I don't believe, not even for a second, that it is going anywhere. It shall continue to resonate and sing so long as there are those who come to hear it
Christmas Eve - what a tragedy in most American churches today - they are either organless or if they do have an organ, they feel a need to hire a cast of horn blowers, kettle drummers, fiddles and sleigh bell ringers to drown the organ out. All a church needs is the King of Instruments to bring homage to the King of Kings. There is nothing like the rush of joy in a church full of people on Christmas Eve when the first verse of Adeste Fideles is played at full organ expression. It is an experience and a memory that we all can relate to.
My church has an organ and a piano, but they never play both at once. The music director either plays piano or organ, depending on the piece. On Christmas Eve, we stick with a traditional organ without other instruments.
Samridhi Sharma , Jesus Christ suffered and died for you also. It’s easy to become a Christian. Repent of your sins, and believe in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Read the Gospel according to Matthew Mark Luke or John. Have patience and allow the Holy Spirit to enter your heart. “Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love.” Be Baptised in the Lord Jesus. ‘God the Father thankyou for this moment of grace.’
Omg 😮 Long live Christ🙌🏻🥰 And the music🥰 I miss the church and being in the choir this makes me sad but so rejoiced, please please please go to a church and just listen to this beautiful sound🤩 Who could say a bad name about it🥇 Well proud to be catholic and gay🇬🇧 America don’t ever stop believing🇺🇸 Your brothers and sisters from another country got you✌🏻🙌🏻
I grew up in a preparatory school in Virginia K-12, and every year, the girls in grades 5-12 would put on a Christmas Pageant at a local church that was done entirely in song....no spoken words. It was, and is, one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have ever seen This song was, every year, traditionally used for the processional. It gives me chills just listening and takes me back to those amazing years!!
Every year in Trinity University in San Antonio TX, there’s a Weinachtsfeier (german christmas celebration which just so happened today) and they have a beautiful choir and organ player. This video instantly reminded me of that.
Compare that organ to the "flimsy" keyboards in most modern-day churches! Rock-bands in "churches" have replaced the majestic sounds of real worship!! God help us!!!
The almighty still makes his presence known in our contemporary worship. The majestic organs are great, but are often over-powering. You don't want to put up with that on every hymn. That being said, open it all occasionally. g.
Yes Willcox's arrangement is definately the best. May I suggest taking it much slower through those brilliant chords in the last verse at "Word of the Father now in flesh appearing". This is the most profound spiritual and musical point in the whole arrangement that should not be rushed through. Every single one of Willcox's notes matter here. A very fine organ you have there to play!!
Mattnbin - yes, I agree with you about every note (and chord) of the Willcox mattering, not to be rushed. Does this organ by chance have 32' digital Bombard? For some reason, possibly, my small-ish speakers, the bass part didn't sound like pipe organ 32' reeds. The overall effort of your playing and the recording was excellent. Keep playing! We appreciate your generosity, Rob!
Mister Rob, in spanish, sorry, i talk spanish, but for you, i whrite in English, now spanish.... Cuando ví este video, yo lloré de la emoción, al ver la forma como tocas el teclado, tú le das un sonido lleno de magia, yo me transporte al cielo mismo
Dr.Phibes does Christmas! Seriously - top marks! This rendition has all the energy, joy and abandon called for. This is _not_ something that should played sedately. Brings back happy memories of singing our lungs out at the episcopal midnight mass when I was a kid - snow outside, only candles, full procession by priest and choir in frilly clothes, the smell of incense, everyone with a warm buzz from dinner with the family.
Never heard that fanfare Rob, but it was BRILLIANT! The whole piece was amazing! quite literally, music to my ears. Thank you for this privilege to listen to your amazing talent!
Best hymn ever played on a Pipe Organ but it doesn't give it justice. Unless you are actually there to experience it in person it is absolutely incredible.
WOW! that is beautiful Rob. What a great organ. You are certainly among My favorite Organist. I see that I am not alone in listening to this tune so far out of season or as I prefer to think of it as just a little early ! Here it is July 21 and this is still listened to often. Vanesa, You are NOT alone there. GOD BLESS ALL Who hear this post. kevlutu
The year is 2020. The list of tragedies and wickedness is long. But none like this year. EDIT: Alas, the Grand Organ brings us together on this day of worship, thankful of what unity we have left.
This is an AWESOME sounding organ, and I will be getting an electronic organ next year and will be playing Christmas songs too. I am not an organist, but I play piano, and can play a little bit of organ.
This reminds me of midnight mass as a kid. My dad took care of the organs maintenance. I wish our old orginsist was still with us.
cool
You can't beat the pipe organ for these magnificent hymns.
Thanks Tom!

SO TRUE!!
Thank you for these wise words ! Unfortunately we are members of a minority.
Slowing down wouldn´t hurt the quality either

Ernest M. Skinner you are looking ought to know see my church in they got rid of its organ and replaced it with a electric oven piano
Completely swept away by this glorious rendition of “O Come All Ye Faithful” on this magnificent instrument. THIS is Christmas! Thank you, Rob!
No Probs!
The King of Christmas Songs played on the King of Musical Instruments! MAGNIFICENT!
Thanks :-)
This brings back child hood memories. This song shook the Church whenever this was played on the organ. The organise really got into this hymn.
Many thanks!
GOODNESS ME .. Simply the most powerful BEST rendition of that hymn i have EVER heard !!
I'm not religious, but I love this song! Especially on the organ. Just beautiful.

You're right. Rock bands in churches are quite ridiculous, and they even think they're cool.
Very true, nothing beats the sound of a church organ played to this standard
