Well Kumble did bowl to Tendulkar once during the MCC vs RoW match at Lord's where Sach got a century. In fact Kumble was the one who got him out clean bowled if I remember correctly. Sach was in a murderous mood that day and had put bowlers like McGrath and Donald to the sword when Kumble got a bowl. Big Salute to the Indian legend !!

Don't know why he named Lara as the best he has bowled to. Lara averaged a paltry 34.55 in 17 tests vs India and couldn't even score a century in India. Should have named Aravinda De Silva. He played him really well.
Murali is highly overrated. His naturally bent arm helped him spin, but he hardly has any wickets in Australia. Took 200+ wickets against Zim and Bangladesh. Warne and Kumble hardly have any wickets against Zim and Bangladesh, while Kumble is best spinner ever to tour Australia (with 49 wickets) when their batting lineup was strongest (Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Martyn, Waugh, Gilchrist, Katich, Symonds, Hussey and even Lee and Gillespie for that matter).

People like Laker, Benaud, Derek Underwood etc have a lot of claims. The whole wkt tally of 619 is making Kumble seem greater than he actually was. Both had big egos but Kumble forgot his place as coach & lost the dressing room, the same way Chappell forgot his place back in the day. The seniors back then screwed Chappell, here almost the entire team was against Kumble. While Chappell was vilified & Kumble martyred, just because one was australian, another was Indian.
Him and Kohli were ok but the younger players found him too intense as a coach because he wanted them to do things like practice and work on their game more rather than do commercials. So the players took their grievances to Kohli so as captain Kohli had to back his players.
