Quick Q: Where does the Tikova make it on this list? i was about to pull the trigger on it being only $300 (realistic expectations of course, home office/gaming) but NOT being on this list at all concerns me after learning the bang for buck may not be worth it! :) be a friend guys, quick question based on this tier list, i just watched the entire video, so this gives me your perspectives on the list comparison, somewhat of course, most are higher price/quality than Tikova. Where does your group rate Tikova on, on THIS Comfort tier list? Based on: Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair - High Back Desk Chair with Adjustable Lumbar Support, Headrest & 3D Metal Armrest - 130°Rocking Mesh Computer Chair Client side: ive always had nicer office chairs at work, but cheap cushioned typical big box leather chairs at home with no back support and no longer want to go this route for home (i need to replace both chairs in his/her offices currently so looking at Tikova online, or biting the typical choice and just buying a $150-200 office store specials... which we all know will disappoint and not last but current priorities .. i guess. Budget is $100-$400 all in, 3-4 hours butt time when used, bad back so really wanted lumbar and 5'5-5'10". Your feedback on this would be awesome! Thanks, Jason
@BTODtv Where is a reputable place to buy a gently used Mirra 2? I have a couple companies (Seating Mind and Madison Seating) that constantly pop up when I am looking but I am hesitant to use them. I would like a loaded Mirra 2 but would prefer it at a cheaper price. If buying used, I want to be sure it has been professionally cleaned and working correctly. Maybe a video on sourcing good used Herman Miller chairs should be put on the idea list for upcoming videos? 🤔🤞
This list has been very helpful to narrow my pick on a new chair (currently using a generic Amazon gaming chair btw) I think putting a visual price tag on each chair that’s shown would definitely be a big help on those who might want to choose between quality and budget.
Yea, I agree. I'm always a bang for the buck kind of shopper. Basically I had to click on every chair in the linked description and cross reference to their rating in the video. Looks like the "OM Yes High-Back" is the winner here for me. It comes in at $600 and yet slips into the 'B' Tier alongside other chairs that are over twice as expensive. And it has an option for a headrest.
On checking each chair I believe a larger number of testers who would be isolated from each other and blind folded would help to give an overhaul winner.Prices would not be helpful in the test.
I picked up an Amia Air chair after an exhaustive amount of research and couldnt be happier. Extremely comfortable, doesn't give me back or leg pain, tons of adjustments if you get the full package, good thermals, etc.
Longtime Aeron user here. I thought it couldn't get any better but started noticing upper leg pain after a while. The seat has a very hard, curved edge to it. This cut into my legs and actually caused a ton of discomfort. I just picked up the Embody and absolutely love it.
You'll love the Embody- I've had mine for over 4 years now and use daily between 6-14 hours a day and it still looks brand new to this day with absolutely zero maintenance, and trust me I abuse this chair it's just that well built!
Yeah I had my aeron for…. Maybe 7 years and I do really like the chair but not for extended sitting. The recline like they say in the review is literally the best out of any chair but for me the lack of upper head support is a deal breaker. The leg aspect quit bothering me shortly after getting used to it. Luckily the aeron build quality is incredible and I was able to resell it within a week very easily by just putting it on fb marketplace. It looked brand new still after years.
I can't speak for all of these chairs, but having sat in several HM chairs and Vertagear/Secret Labs chairs...and owning 2 of the Clatina Mellet, the Clatina chair definitely punches way above it's price point as the cheapest chair in this lineup. The arm rests are weak, however a memory foam cover fixes that. I feel like it was initially graded correctly at a C, in terms of comfort for value, S tier, no question.
The Amia is the bomb. I got one by chance. I have three of them now. I get them used and for the price it's the absolute best. I like it more than my Embody and Gesture for less than a 5th the price. I just like how the Embody and Gesture look more, I want the Gesture to be the best but the Amia IS more comfortable.
I work at an office and for the longest time had hated my chair. I had a cheap racing-style seat. The other day i was considering ordering a new chair because I just got a raise. Then out of nowhere I discovered a leather ergohuman chair like you have at 5:41 in a utility closet that no one had touched in years! I had maybe seen it once before and just assumed it wasn't going to be that comfortable. Then i looked online to see how much they cost and that it's actually a pretty great chair. Using it now and I love it so far.
If you’re watching this just understand that a vast majority of the higher rated chairs are pretty expensive. I’m all for “you get what you pay for” but I bought the staples hyken for around 150-160 and can’t believe for a second these guys rated it a D-F. I work from home and sit in it for 8+ hrs and love it. Many positions to lock in, full recline for the boring teams meetings, and the headrest is a huge plus and also adjustable for however far reclined you are. So much so that I’ll find it hard ever going back to an office chair without a headrest. All things considered, I’m sure many of these chairs are better, but don’t break the bank thinking there aren’t great budget seats around.
Things you should spend a lot of money on are anything that separates you from the ground. High quality tires on your car, supportive shoes, a good mattress, and an ergonomic chair. Your $200 chair is definitely better than a dining chair or fold up chair, but it doesn’t have the support, quality and warranty that a $1000 chair would have. Considering Herman Millers can last 10-20 years, thats like $10 a month all said and done. A high upfront cost but its one and done. Your staples chair is going to fall apart in 1-5 years and not have replacement parts.
@@final3119 again I’m all for the getting what you pay for mantra. I was simply letting people know, if you’re budgeting for more than just a chair, you don’t have spend thousands of dollars to get something very comfortable very sturdy and reasonably priced. The same goes for most things. There comes a point of diminishing returns. The $1600 chair is 10x the cost of my $160 chair, I have to ask myself, is the other chair 10x better? Probably not. The same is true for everything else. Is the $2500 monitor better than the $900 one? Obviously yes, but everything is relative, and compromises need to be made somewhere, for most people. Eventually I will get a better chair. I’m perfectly ok with that happening in stages and I assume most people feel the same.
I actually agree with the Lamia there. That's what I felt like when I first tested out steelcase chairs and asked the salesguy about this. Currently in an Amia and would like the back of the Leap.
Thanks for doing this video - was hoping for one rated on comfort alone. It would be great if your videos could include comfort for shorter people (ahem, women) as we’re getting three guys’ opinions with these videos. After all, a 5 ft 2 woman’s comfort will not be the same as a 6ft or even 5’9 tall man’s e.g. based on backrest height, location of lumbar support/curve and seat depth. (The video of top office chairs for petite people doesn’t focus on comfort - though helpfully, the only one in both that and this video is the Steelcase Leap v2.) Also agree with comments about the graphics/Tavel containing labels of the name of the chair either throughout the review or in a summary at the end (wouldn’t be able to skip to the summary since that wouldn’t explain why a lamia would be the best seat!). Thanks!
I used to work for a Hon/Allsteel dealer. The Ignition was only ever proposed in bid situations because our discounting was so good, with the assumption it would get replaced with something nicer once the project was awarded...but it wasn't always, so it still would sell in the thousands. The one nice thing about the headrest is that if it aligns with your neck/head, when you recline you still face forward, rather than up to the ceiling when you recline. I do wish more task chairs had full-recline like the gaming "racing seat" style chairs. One of my clients was standardized on the Embody. The first one I ever sat in was the single most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. But every other example (hundreds), I've never been able to set them to be comfortable. They also get creaky/rattley over a short time, and the seat pad feels so firm. That client ended up switching to the Okamura Sylphy for their worldwide-standard. My old office standardized on the Diffrient Smart, and we instantly had lots of complaints and requests for alternate chairs, and most if us went back to our old Allsteel Acuity. When I worked for a Teknion dealer, and still to this day, my favorite daily driver was the Teknion (made by Okamura) Contessa, with the upholstered seat...but beyond that, one customer wanted an extra 1/2 of memory foam, so custom seat pads were made for them. Aaaaaamazing.
The Aeron is the only chair I've sat in for 8 - 10 hours straight (apart from toilet breaks and water breaks). I use the Leap v2 today, which is also really close to achieving that, BUT, the leap v2 is really warm for me (and I suspect this would be the same problem for all the non-mesh chairs). I use it in a non-aircon room and I live in a tropical country. I sweat in in constantly, so apart from general comfort, it also kinda smells after just an hour or so no matter how often i clean it. The only reason I let my Aeron go was because I fell between size B and C, and my back wasn't always touching the back rest on my size C (and yet it was still holding me up for houurrs). Size B would have dug too much into my thighs. If the Aeron had a seat adjustment and brought me closer to the back by 2cm, it would be THE perfect chair. And god, that reclining mechanism alone makes me wish I had kept it around in the house.
Excellent video. I was suckered into buying a gaming chair, so I'm really looking to ditch that and get something GOOD for a change. All of the comparisons you made really help to cover the overwhelming amount of options out there.
While this video is very helpful, I wanted to add a comment for anyone out there who like me is very sensitive to pressure on the backs of their thighs. In the past, I used an Aeron chair and a variety of unidentifiable task chairs. My current desk chair provided at my workplace is a NPS8600. The Neutral Posture chair was probably the most comfortable chair I've ever used, even if it is a bit on the bulkier side. I came to this video looking for a chair to replace my Markus chair at home that would maybe be a bit more stylish than the NPS8600. Since I'm sensitive to pressure on my legs, I usually look for a seat pan that can tilt forward (which my NPS chair has) but it isn't a particularly common chair feature. After watching this video which includes the NPS8000 compared with a wide variety of chairs including the Aeron and several other videos online, I purchased an Amia chair to replace a Markus chair in my home office. Its been roughly a week and this is probably the biggest regret purchase I've made in a long time. The fiberglass waterfall is way too much pressure, I can feel my circulation cutting off and every time I'm in the chair, even for just a few minutes. In no time I can feel my ankles and knees starting to swell, and I can rarely sit in the chair for more than 30 min without needing to get up. I have gone through chair setup multiple times trying to fix the issue and even rearranging my desk, but nothing has helped. Unfortunately, I will likely be getting rid of this chair and replacing it with an NPS chair. Personally, I think the comfort and flexibility of the NPS chair is really undersold across the internet. I also really wish they had more videos featuring the rest of neutral posture's line of chairs, as I think their seat is one of the most comfortable out there in ergonomic chairs.
These chair review videos have helped me greatly in my search for a new computer chair for my home use. I was debating between the leap, gesture, zody, and embody, and after sitting in an embody in person today I've made my mind. Glad to see that the chair seems to be well regarded overall!
@@rowen0fstrata I actually had a steelcase gesture that was used but almost untouched come up for sale local to me for a very good price so i jumped on it. Overall i prefer the embody, but my gesture is a damn good chair, and for half the price you cant beat it.
Long time Gesture user here. It truly is a "get what you pay for" chair. The materials and build quality hold up exceptionally well over time. It's had five years of daily use and there's no torn fabric, the gas cylinder still works perfectly, all the levers and knobs and armrests are still tight and feel like new, nothing squeaks, etc. If you try it and find it comfortable, you won't have to worry about replacing it for thousands and thousands of hours.
This is so great to read. A friend of mine has one and I thought it was quite comfortable, so I was looking into reviews. After watching this video I decided to pull the trigger on the Gesture over the Amia/Leap because of the adjustable arm rests. Very very excited for it to come in next week.
I literally paused the video, turned up the volume, and leaned in to listen to what your S-tier chair was going to be. You absolutely rolled me with the Lamia, and now I must build one.
Primarily based on your videos, I bought a Haworth Zody, and I am immensely happy I did. It’s the most comfortable chair I’ve personally ever sat in, and I never want to get up.
I had a mesh chair once and vowed never to get another, they dont offer proper support like a traditional padded back/seat does. In my opinion, mesh chairs are just the current fashion, oh look, its so cool you can see through it.
I appreciate the stinginess on handing out S tiers. I don't think it makes sense to give something a S tier if there's a legitimate critique about it. Thanks for the video!
these videos are so helpful, thanks guys! Would be even better if you could include the name of the chair in the pictures on the tier list - it's kinda hard to keep track after a while
my partner and I went to a herman miller showroom and had high hopes but felt that all the chairs felt cheap and uncomfortable except for the embody which was just ok. Then we went to the steelcase showroom and immediately preferred any steelcase chair over the embody. My partner chose a gesture right away, while I was between a leap and amia as my top choices (and also considered the think and gesture. I liked every chair I tried at steelcase except for the series 2). After watching several of your videos, I decided on a leap. We both received our chairs a couple days ago and both of us are so happy with our choices. I spent my first full work day in my leap yesterday, and it's kind of life changing to finish up a work day without experiencing back pain. Owning a nice office chair for the first time made me really question why I put up with cheap chairs for so long. Thanks for the videos!
Are you still using the leap atm? Idk if you noticed but a lot of people are complaining about the seat and the fact that it gives tailbone pain. What's your experince with it and how tall are you?
Agreed on the Zody - without the forward tilt function, the chair feels too far back reclined. I ended up swapping it with an Amia, which is great! And now that I have a Leap and Amia, I wish there was a Lamia too!
Steelcase leap Owner. I first bought a Secret Lab Titan and that absolutely destroyed my back. I saw a video on the Steelcase Leap v2 and had try it. It was the best decision I ever made. It is my favorite chair I have ever used an recommend it to everyone looking for a chair.
I have a HM Embody and the HM Sayl. Embody is comfortable to the nth degree, but agree with it pushing your shoulder blades forward and starting to have issues myself. The Sayl is a great alternative with its back and lumbar support. It also has adjustable armrests that now go inwards and outwards. It works for me because I am also 5' 9"-10" (178cm). This review is fantastic cuz it gives three different perspectives of each chair and gave pointers on why I like and don't like the chairs I already have. Thanks!
I also has both of these chairs and while I can use the Sayl somewhat, I have a love-hate relationship with Embody. Whatever I do it hurts my legs - either thighs or calves, depending on settings. Tried to adjust to it for three months and thinking of selling it now. The problem is that butt sinks much lower than thighs. I am sitting on an old Ikea chair while typing this - it doesn't kill my legs like HM chairs do.
@@LostStylus Can relate. I had Aeron B that was amazing except the seat cut off blood flow and I had an Embody that felt like i was sitting on a plastic frame w the front edge lip
I've had an HM Embody for almost a couple years now and it's amazing. Best back of any chair I've tried. I am a taller guy at 6'1" and don't really have the same complaint about pushing your shoulders forward. Do you guys still have the same complaint even after adjusting the back setting with the dial? I like that I can really fine-tune the upper back with the knob.
Really wish you guys would've uploaded with labeled timeline segments for simplicity. For a video rating 33 chairs it really would've helped the audience.
The fact that you included the tall guy review is decisive for me (a tall guy). Amazing video (and all your other review articles)!!!!!!! Thank you very much!!!
I didn’t own my first “gaming” chair until 2023 and I only needed to sit in it for a few months to look the opposite direction. Now I’m looking at which office chairs are best for sitting all day for someone over 6’0
You should add the tritek ergo select chair, it has 4d armrests, lumbar support adjustability, back chair height adjustability. really comfortable chair.
Really enjoying my T50, I upgraded from a Markus and it is definitely a tier up from that. The adjustability and having the option to tilt the seat base for tasking make it a worthy upgrade.
Having more adjustments can definitely make your chair more comfortable, with a better fit. The Markus just isn't adjustable enough to fine tune for most people -GK
Bought the Embody many years ago after using one at a client site for about a year, was a great investment. When you factor in the amount of time you spend in a chair, and how a shit chair can fuck up your back, it really is a no brainer to get the best you can afford.
Went to Staples for an office chair. I've owned many and they all failed to hold up, cushions went flat, gas springs failed, etc. Sat on a Serta Comfort i5000 and knew without a doubt I needed that chair. Only question was longevity. That was 3 years ago. Chair looks brand new and I work from home, 8+ hours/day. I'm 5'9", 160#, so I don't think I challenge a normal chair. It has nifty little control levers for height and seat back. I don't use them much, though. Never owned a better chair.
Zody’s seat is way too firm surprised you guys like this chair so much. I found the seat and back rest to be bad. Just as stated I felt like I was falling out of the zody. Never could find a setting I liked. The embody is where it’s at you get the best of a mesh and a cushioned seat in one. Feels like I’m floating all day. Only con I see with the embody is the lack of 4d adjustments and the price. Other than that totally worth it.
We have a bunch of Zodys in our office. I agree with you, but don’t think the seat and back to be bad, just okay. My biggest gripe is while the armrests are comfortable, maybe we just have really pointy elbows or something because the arm rests eventually develop cracks and need to be replaced.
@@gapmoeenthusiast Haworth is not nearly as nice as Herman miller. Immediately noticed the lean, tension, gas cylinder (barely drops), plastics, and overall materials are nicer. The zody feels as good as some no name chairs I tried at Office Depot some in the $200-$300 range felt better.
Agreed, I found that although It’s definitely comfortable, the Zody isn’t great for sitting still and actually getting work done for long periods as it feels like it’s pushing you out of it. Much prefer my ergohuman in that regard.
I'm in the market for a new chair, and I've watched all of your tier videos and many of your other videos. I really enjoy your banter and overall they're excellent reviews. I did have one request- could you make a video for smaller people? I mean you guys are great, but you're all average/large men. I'm a woman clocking in at 5'4" and fairly petite, and I'm far from being the smallest around. My thought is that things like head rests, lumbar support and general fit would be impacted just based on a person's size.
I mean Lamia makes sense as an actual word ( Lah - Mee - Uh), which is in folklore as a woman top and snake bottom daemon who devours children. So that’s pretty metal. Otherwise I can’t decide now between the Amia, Leap, and Zody. I think I was finally able to take the Aeron out of my consideration, though a hard one. Thanks for the videos!
They rated Staples Hyken so low because this is least expensive sit from all and they have low margin on sales. This chair is amazing, especially for the value.
I have had my Markus (I got the white one, so not leather) for about 5 or 6 years and still use it to this day. I removed the armrest the very first day but other than that I can't complain.
for people with neurological issues; tilt tension matters as might 20" minimum armrest width and armrests that go down far enough to not make you shrug shoulders. and keep the name of the chair under eval on screen the whole time.
What if you did seperate height ratings? Like one set of ratings for short, one for moderate, and one for tall people (or just maybe tall vs not tall).
thanks to you guys a got an amia used from a family member (only 2 years old) for 200 bucks! its amazing. wouldnt have even been on my radar if it wasnt for you guys! mama AMIA
The Aeron is like a triangle shaped hole. For triangles it’s the best chair ever made. For squares and circles it probably sucks, which is totally valid. But based on how amazing it is for triangles I cannot accept anything below A tier :) Thanks for the vid though always enjoy watching your reviews.
Great list! I had the chance to spend many years using the Leap and Aeron which are my 2 favourite chairs but am considering the Gesture for home use to replace the Cosm. If you're wondering why I'm replacing it, the simple reason is that my Cosm has broken 3 times in 3 years (since launch). Each time, it would take 3+ months to replace the Auto-Harmonic Tilt "leaf spring" and apparently no one else in the whole world faces this same issue.
17:44 I can’t believe it, I had the exact same reaction on the Hyken after using it for a while! I realized the seat dipping back was forcing me to slouch. It was impossible to sit straight in this thing. I actually did eventually replace it with a wood chair! At least I could try to sit straight. Felt kind of bad because it was my first chair I bought. Oh well, lesson learned.
Guys thank you for making all these chair review videos. They are really helpful. I'm software developer and need chair 24/7. I'm using $50 IKEA chair for 4 years now... Poor me... In our office we use Steelcase Think and I like it. But for my home office I wanted chair with headrest. My choice was in between Fern vs Steelcase Gesture vs Steelcase Leap. As per my understanding all the chairs quite same comfort level and I would not feel the difference. Based on your reviews I made my decision and ordered Fern Executive chair. I liked orange color and their digital knit pattern. Just a hint for you: buy a Bluetooth mouse and get rid of USB dongle. I love to use MX Master 3 mouse.
Ive used a lot of these high end chairs just due to have an office fitter at work and having a wide range chairs to choose from. Out of all these chairs my list of top 5 would be 1. Embody 2. Leap 3. Aeron 4. Haworth Zody 5. Haworth Fern
Placing an Aeron as a C/B tier means I can’t trust any of the other ratings. As someone that worked for EDS who sat on one for 9 hours a day I can say I’ve never once since had a chair as good as the Aeron.
I never thought I'd be watching videos this long on chairs in my life 😂 I adore gaming at a desk with a nice monitor. Nothing beats it. I injured my back a whilst ago and sitting in a desk chair hurts my back so much 😭 I've gone through quite a few that all set my back off. There's a few I still want to try but my god it's starting to cost me a bloody fortune. You guys got a recommendation for someone who's had a back injury/slipped disk? Would deeply appreciate your view on this 🙏🏼
I've "zippered" two of the Mirra 2 chairs in my office just from sitting in them - meaning I've split the back rest down the middle. I'm not overly heavy, 225-ish, just under 6ft. No abnormal usage of the chair at all - regular sitting and working, some leaning back, but nothing it shouldn't be able to handle.
I bought a Butterfly ergonomic chair from ergoup 3 years ago. many fantastic functions than regular chairs. I believe you guys will like it as well after testing.
The simple task chair. So impossibly hard to find any perfection in any of them. They really are a personal choice because you are going to deal with some pretty glaring flaws with any of them.
Is there any difference in comfort from the stock Leap v2 vs the refurbished one you sell with the extra 1/2 inch padding? Does that take care of the tailbone issue some experience? Thanks.
No, our goal is to make it feel like a new Leap. There were a lot smarter people involved in the development of the Leap than us. If you want something with more padding, I would look for an alternative chair -GK
I bought BTOD's refurbished Amia chair after hearing about the extra padding added while being the most cushioned Steelcase chair. The chair was great other than getting sweaty. But I found my tailbone getting sore after a while. I checked my adjustments to make sure everything was good and still no luck. Adding a half-inch foam it only delayed the soreness and caused me to sit too high digging the frame into my back. I'm roughly 6 foot tall, ~180 pounds for reference. I've seen some people say if you slouch you'll likely experience tailbone pain as well which could be a factor as well. I've since returned it with their great customer service. So if you're okay with possibly returning it, give it a shot! Still looking for a chair though. Considering the AKIR or Eurotech Vera for better cushioning. Wish I could try these chairs in-store 😞
I have gone through 2 aeron chairs over the last 20 years, 10+ hours a day. I am 250+ 6’2”. I think mine is a large size. I like it a lot. I will have to go try some of the ones you like better.
Being in south texas, I’m struggling to find an all mesh chair to keep me cool while I’m working. Really hoping one day y’all make a video like this but only for all-mesh chairs
We're shooting the Herman Miller Mirra 2 Review right now and it made me think about this comment. It is not all mesh, but a mesh seat and poly back which allows for some breathability. - Robert
Random question for you guys, do you have a showroom for potential customers to test out various chairs? You guys are located very close to where I live.
Could you make a tutorial for building the Lamia?? I think the thin seat was the biggest issue i had with the leap. I just found a great deal for both of these chairs and I'm gonna need it!

Yea, I agree. I'm always a bang for the buck kind of shopper. Basically I had to click on every chair in the linked description and cross reference to their rating in the video. And it has an option for a headrest.

Is the gaming embody by Logitech?
@@GurmeetSingh-fr8uo Nah, I have the original version as I wasn’t a fan of the look of the Logitech version.

Luckily the aeron build quality is incredible and I was able to resell it within a week very easily by just putting it on fb marketplace. It looked brand new still after years.
Ive bought a headrest for my aeron, its kinda expensive but its worth it.
(The video of top office chairs for petite people doesn’t focus on comfort - though helpfully, the only one in both that and this video is the Steelcase Leap v2.)
Also agree with comments about the graphics/Tavel containing labels of the name of the chair either throughout the review or in a summary at the end (wouldn’t be able to skip to the summary since that wouldn’t explain why a lamia would be the best seat!). Thanks!
Yeah it is very difficult to find any accurate reviews of chairs with smaller people in mind so I have no idea if these would really work for me
Managed to find a year old Haworth Zody for $130, just had to clean the wheels and get the dog hair off the seat. Been absolutely loving it.
That’s a nice find for the price! -GK
I just got home from a long 12 hour shift and here i am sitting on the toilet, my only free time, to watch office chair reviews.
Can you guys do a review for the LF gaming chair?
And god, that reclining mechanism alone makes me wish I had kept it around in the house.
what do you have, Aeron Classir or Remastered?
I LOVE my Aeron Remastered
@@magicpoopfart8363 What height are u?
What is your height, I am 6,3 and having the same issue
Sorry but your experience describes my exact scenario right now. @moltenbullet what chair are you using now?
Excellent video. I was suckered into buying a gaming chair, so I'm really looking to ditch that and get something GOOD for a change. All of the comparisons you made really help to cover the overwhelming amount of options out there.
The "Lamia Gesture " Nice video Guy's. Got a video on making the hybrid chair? If not when ? Thanks.
I also really wish they had more videos featuring the rest of neutral posture's line of chairs, as I think their seat is one of the most comfortable out there in ergonomic chairs.
not sure I would give an A or S to a chair without headrest.
These chair review videos have helped me greatly in my search for a new computer chair for my home use. I was debating between the leap, gesture, zody, and embody, and after sitting in an embody in person today I've made my mind. Glad to see that the chair seems to be well regarded overall!
why not fern
How do you like the embody after 10 months?
@@naquaman2034 Wonderful to hear - hope it brings you years of comfort!
That is great to hear. Thanks for sharing -GK
America has so many options, kinda wish UK had a better time in finding office refurbs that are actually good.
Yes, even here it can be a bit dicey -GK
Can't even get the same warranties over here lol, Steelcase chairs are 100% not worth buying brand new in the UK atm.
You should show us how to contruct a Lamia ourselves. I have the Leap V2, so all I need is to add the cushions from the Amia, right?
Please sell/make that Lamia chair! Thats end game right there
these videos are so helpful, thanks guys! Would be even better if you could include the name of the chair in the pictures on the tier list - it's kinda hard to keep track after a while
You’re welcome! Thanks for the suggestion. We can definitely try and see if it’s legible. They are super small boxes -GK
@@btodtv leaving the text in the corner up for the whole time you're talking about them might work too!
my partner and I went to a herman miller showroom and had high hopes but felt that all the chairs felt cheap and uncomfortable except for the embody which was just ok.
That is awesome to hear we were able to guide you in the direction of your new chair! Glad we could help and even happier you came back to tell us -GK
Are you still using the leap atm? Idk if you noticed but a lot of people are complaining about the seat and the fact that it gives tailbone pain. What's your experince with it and how tall are you?
Wait wait wait, serious question here. So we can actually get an Amia seat and assemble it into a Leap just like that? Any modification requires?
26:25 That BTC chair is amazing. Best chair ever in terms of all day comfort!! If you want move walk around the room!!
Agreed on the Zody - without the forward tilt function, the chair feels too far back reclined. I ended up swapping it with an Amia, which is great! And now that I have a Leap and Amia, I wish there was a Lamia too!
Which is more confortable? Leap or Amia?
@@fieryscorpion I prefer the Amia
@@molohov3875 Great. Thank you. I'll go for it then.
i completely agree with the lamia its what ive been looking for....but id like the gesture arms and headrest
Who's the chair after using it for a couple of hours straight?
The Gaming Embody fixes the shoulder issue.
Markus seat wears out after about 2 years and cannot be replaced.
They are clueless about long term use of some of these chairs. And I mean years of use.
My fav chair ive had
It would be nice if you could put timestamps/chapters for each chair. Thank you for your work!
We normally do. I failed and will add them -GK
This video is S tier
I like that -GK
Really wish you guys would've uploaded with labeled timeline segments for simplicity. For a video rating 33 chairs it really would've helped the audience.
Would have really been great to have each tier listed next to the time stamps.
The fact that you included the tall guy review is decisive for me (a tall guy). Amazing video (and all your other review articles)!!!!!!! Thank you very much!!!
Can you make a video with recommended chairs for tall (not fat) people? Like 6'4 to 6'5 area. So hard to find good reviews.
My first educated chair purchase was an Amia based on all the praise it's gotten on this channel
And have you received it yet? -GK
I just receive T50, the lumbar support is so bad, it is so stiff and poking my back which causes my back pain, have to return it
I swear to god, if Steelcase doesn't produce the Lamia until the end of this year, I'll have to call Elon Musk.
LOLOL. Pinned -GK
@@btodtv (O_O) - As you mentioned add a Gesture Headrest to it. This will be fun. XD

I work at Steelcase. Should I float the Lamia idea?
@@ericanderson1753 do it!! APAC Seating team got a kick out if it! I cannot imagine what HQ will say 😏
IMO the perfect chair would be the Gaming Embody with the “5D” arm rests of the Recaro Exo Platinum and the Atlas headrest.
That’s a stretch. Definitely better than 200-$300 chairs. I agree it’s not as nice as the Aeron and Embody, but it isn’t as expensive either -GK
@@btodtv Idk right off the bat my zody made me want to jump back into my $300 chair from Costco…luckily my embody came in today. It’s an amazing seat.
Agreed, I found that although
It’s definitely comfortable, the Zody isn’t great for sitting still and actually getting work done for long periods as it feels like it’s pushing you out of it. Much prefer my ergohuman in that regard.
48:13 The S tier chair. LOL for me as no headrest = immediate dealbreaker.
We created a video best for short or petite users. Taylor our designer did the video since she is 5’2” -GK
@@btodtv I can't that, only the 5 tips for petite people.

Going deep on this, I had no idea it was a woman top snake chair haha -GK
They rated Staples Hyken so low because this is least expensive sit from all and they have low margin on sales. This chair is amazing, especially for the value.
We explained why it’s rated so low. It’s not a comfortable chair -GK
I went with the Aeron and bought a third party headrest for it. I absolutely love it.
I managed to convince my office to get me the Amia. Im flipping out after seeing your review. The hype is real fellas
But based on how amazing it is for triangles I cannot accept anything below A tier :)
Thanks for the vid though always enjoy watching your reviews.
I hate triangles. Lol. Appreciate the funny take -GK
What do you prefer Aeron or Leap ? And why !?
Aeron is king, perfect fit for me. Had mine for a decade, no issues and is still going strong.
The seat of the Secret Lab Titan started really hard but after it’s broke in, it became quite soft.
It would be useful to know the height and weight on each of you guys to help calibrate your reviews to the individual 👍
Wow! I am surprised that the Fern and Soji, two chairs at completely different price points at Haworth would be on the same tier!! Awesome video
Put Amia seat, Leap backrest, and Gesture armrest.... that would be SS tier.
As I prefer mesh, I'd use the Mirra 2/Aeron seat lol. Give it a Herman Miller warranty and I'd buy the damn thing right away in the UK.
I bought the Amia after seeing this video and it just arrived. Thanks for the video and detailed reviews!
Hope you enjoy it! You're welcome -GK
Ive used a lot of these high end chairs just due to have an office fitter at work and having a wide range chairs to choose from. Out of all these chairs my list of top 5 would be 1. Embody 2. Leap 3. Aeron 4. Haworth Zody 5. Haworth Fern
Why?
Man this is a tough crowd. I have the Secret Labs Gaming chair. I actually love it lol.
They should buy the Fern without the headrest and compare it w/ the one that has the headrest.
Aeron = S-Tier
If my Aeron breaks, i'll buy one again to replace it. Or repair it so that i can keep if for the next decade.
Im dying from laughing... at how quick you all shitted on the All33 chair, in within 15 seconds of the video... *dead*
Placing an Aeron as a C/B tier means I can’t trust any of the other ratings. As someone that worked for EDS who sat on one for 9 hours a day I can say I’ve never once since had a chair as good as the Aeron.
the aeeron is s tier for sure
I never thought I'd be watching videos this long on chairs in my life 😂 I adore gaming at a desk with a nice monitor. Nothing beats it. I injured my back a whilst ago and sitting in a desk chair hurts my back so much 😭 I've gone through quite a few that all set my back off. There's a few I still want to try but my god it's starting to cost me a bloody fortune. You guys got a recommendation for someone who's had a back injury/slipped disk? Would deeply appreciate your view on this 🙏🏼
Nice ranking. Just wish you could also show the price near each model so I don't pause and look it up every minute
Bro out here at 100+kg saying not overly heavy. US really uses another scale for everything
I bought a Butterfly ergonomic chair from ergoup 3 years ago. many fantastic functions than regular chairs. I believe you guys will like it as well after testing.
This is a knock off of the Ergohuman chai right? -GK
HM Aeron is the GOAT of office chairs. The mesh seat and back allow you to sit in this thing for DAYS. Make sure you get the right size!
Is there any way to see the list by chair? The pics all look alike.
Hollow net backs is an insta F tier for me. never again owned a chair like this just to throw it in the trash after 3 weeks
Instantly interested due to the seemingly eternal quest for a chair my back likes long term. Glad I found this channel. Subscribed !
The simple task chair. So impossibly hard to find any perfection in any of them. They really are a personal choice because you are going to deal with some pretty glaring flaws with any of them.
12:25 you need to try a bigger Aeron chair. Type C is usually the go-to
Thank you for your videos! They're super informative
You’re welcome, thank you for watching! -GK
Just found your channel, I'm addicted! Do you have any videos talking about the LauraDavidson Bowery chair? Would love your feedback on that one.
Ryan just shot a first impressions video on it and it will post in the couple weeks. Thanks for following the channel! -GK
Awesome, can't wait!
30 chairs tested and you don’t even test the best of them all. The Lifeform executive chair.
Oh man, this is a tough crowd for mesh chairs. I only like the backrest in mesh -GK
We're shooting the Herman Miller Mirra 2 Review right now and it made me think about this comment. It is not all mesh, but a mesh seat and poly back which allows for some breathability. - Robert
We need the Lamia!!! Make it happen Steelcase.
I'm rocking the Steelcase Leap v2
Random question for you guys, do you have a showroom for potential customers to test out various chairs? You guys are located very close to where I live.
We have an office that is filled with chairs, if you want to reach out to our sales team they can definitely help you out -GK
I'm 5'11 and the Sayl if absolutely great for me. No more back pain.
Could you make a tutorial for building the Lamia?? I think the thin seat was the biggest issue i had with the leap. I just found a great deal for both of these chairs and I'm gonna need it!
