This doll is definitely similar to Phicen dolls which are made from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), except that the Phicen has a jointed stainless steel skeleton inside rather than wire. I've heard of the 'skin' developing small tears over the joints from prolonged poses so with this doll it might be a good idea to change their poses every couple days or return them to neutral position afterward. This Sayaka however has proven resilient to 2 decades of time in her box though!
I've always wished there was a mermaid Jenny, I've looked endlessly. Licca has had so many mermaid dolls made! So unfair Jenny hasn't! Takara make a mermaid Jenny!!
Love when you make videos about Jennys. I ended up getting another one recently myself and the good news is they are incredibly easy to rebody if you wanna do that! At least the one I had, the neck was just held on by a cone shaped piece of plastic that the head just slides on and off of easily.
What a fascinating doll. I wonder if anyone's ever done a comparison with the bendable Barbies that were made in the early 2000s, Dance and Flex I think was the name.
She's so pretty. I had a doll that could bend like that but not the neck when was little (early 70s). She was as bout 7inches tall. Your doll has such a cute face.
You are legit the queen of dolls, the most impressively diverse collection 💖 Your reaction to the "natural body" was literally my reaction when I first got one hahahah
If those hair accessories have closed loops you could take some rubber bands from LE doll packaging and snip them, thread them through and then seal them again with a hair straightener
I had one of those gumby bodies once! It was Licca size, and I'd bought it without a head. I really like her shoes. The soft skin Obitsu bodies can move their necks like that.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing cuz im always looking for dolls with those really cool seamless posable bodies. Trying to channel your luck in deal finding cuz honestly what a steal
I know you don't really collect modern Barbies but have you ever played with a MTM? They do have limits to their torso joints, but they can do so many fun poses.
I much prefer the fashionista bodies from the 2010’s because the double joints are a bit clunky for me and I’m not honestly super into ankle joints’ appearance
@@xCanadensis I get you. Sometimes it takes a lot of force to get the second joint to move too. Never had the earlier Fashionistas, but I know people love them.
I have a vintage violet parr doll that I got new in box for like $12 and she had that same yellowing problem, I bought a jakks pacific incredibles 2 one to replace my broken hand one but tue seller sent me another 2004 one and the one I got that wasn’t sitting in the box had much less yellow skin, which is probably the reason I was a little disappointed in her. but yea I’m thinking a similar thing happened with u :0 also another interesting note is that my Georgia doll had a similar kind of gel that was soft and works with the curls which is one pf the main reasons I won’t wash her because that gel let me dry brush her curls and they came out immaculate omg-
Do you know much about the Jenny takara dolls? I got one today but I can't find any information. I would like to know the value of her but I can only find one thing about her which is a post on reddit
She does does kind of remind me of a phicen. I've always been curious about what it's like to pose those. I have some newer style obitsu bodies that are jointed but fleshy through the abs. I find that body super cute to pose, like it has a little more range and prettier joints than a made-to-move Barbie body.

A mermaid tail would look good on her >w

woww, it's so cool to see a doll without visible joints!
She looks amazing, I remember a cousin of mine had a Barbie with a body like that it was super fun to play with

She’s adorable, and wow she really can pose in a bunch of different ways
Idk why but her having a fleshy feeling and no joints and the way she poses reminds me of Gumby and tbh I love it😂
Reminds me of Dance and Flex Barbie, it released around the same time as this
Her shoes remind me of the shoes that Freddie wore in season 1 of iCarly

i have dance n flex barbie and its not that different.. i think
2:00 omg Brooke xcanadensis is articulated!!!

these are my favorite videos from youuuu
I love the box art!

You can do most of those positions with the Barbie Made To Move dolls and the Ken BMR dolls
If those hair accessories have closed loops you could take some rubber bands from LE doll packaging and snip them, thread them through and then seal them again with a hair straightener
Wished they produced more of those dolls outside Japan

She is gorg! That body is definitely something...LOVE her clothes🤧
And I agree, the type of hair clips she comes with SUCKS, ugh!

Is it like the everflex body?
