Man your channel is pure gold. You’re collecting all the goodness from famous mixers in an easy to follow format. Keep it up!
Andrew so many thanks for show us!
cheers Joe, i'll try that on a song i'm mixing currently, its got a lot of tom work.
Great tip, thanks. Never thought MicroShift could be used this way, but it sounds really awesome.
Just discovered your channel, really great stuff! Looking forward to seeing more! Maybe sometimes a little high passing on the floor tom reverb might prevent boomyness in the sides, however in your example I don't think it needs it, the sound you achieved is really good! Thanks for the tip! Cheers!
YOU_ARE_A_CHAMPION!!!!
Thanks for these Andrew Scheps tricks, they're great!
Glad you like them!
Great content. Thank you for sharing. I definitely liked and subbed.
Thanks!
Thanks man!
It's a great video
Thanks for watching!
nice man!!
Crazy stuff.... Wow.
That pitch-shifting on the send track is really cool. In my current mix I'm actually preferring the sound of it *_before_* the reverb, to my ears the transient sounds better that way.
This is a really awesome tip! Thanks!
You're welcome!
Great info, thanks a lot brother!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome man!
Thanks!
thx
I usually just add the verb and chorus on the Tom bus itself, but with the mix knobs dialed very low and not quite as big a verb as what you used. I think I may create an aux and try it this way instead, to give me more control and not color the direct mics as much. Cheers Joe.
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Really Great Video and Mixing Idead !!! Thanks so much for sharing !!! Happily Subscribed : )
Thanks, and welcome!
Where do you get the reverb parameters from, very spesific numbers?
Hello Joe, please which VST Drummer do you use, because the sound is amazing
If it's not real drums, its usually Superior Drummer from Toontrack.
I'd like to ask if the whole drum kit is sent into this reverb or if it's just the toms that are sent into this reverb. Thank you for clarifying.
Just the toms for this verb.
Thanks for this. Currently mixing a project and the toms weren't sounding huge enough. Definitely going to try this on it.
Are you sending the FXs through a send or putting them directly on the Tom channel?
On a send
In a pinch, would the modulation section of a reverb plugin suffice?
It could, the you might not get the control you have with a dedicated tool.
I noticed we were using the little microshift - which doesn’t have much in the way of in depth controls… and got my thinking. (Most verbs with some modulation have more controls in comparison.) That is, if it’s one less native plugin to use.
Thanks a bunch!
Andrew is using Studio One now? Awesome....
No, but I am. Most of the older mixers/engineers are still on Pro Tools.
No one is going to talk about the 3 Lang EQ's behind Andrew in the pic?
But does it sounds better compared to the Omni Chanel ?
thanks, when speaking you sound digital distorted
It's interesting that we get the "Celebrity Sound Engineer" these days
and what I find is that they are always American. The USA bigging
them self's up as usual, what a sad world we have made for ourselves.
Also these name dropped technics are nothing out of the ordinary infact
they can be hugely improved on, no joke. What you have achieved is
somewhat linear lifeless it really is. Its the way it comes across to me
from what I am hearing. It's desperately requiring movement.
