    I always find Toms to be the most difficult part of a drum mix to get right. Nolly is an actual wizard! That’s Transient Designer trick is great. Thanks again GGD

    Never come across your channel before. It's so refreshing to hear someone who can speak well and isn't afraid to use excellent language. Thank you. It really makes a difference.

    Just posting a comment to say thank you for this masterclass. I have struggled with my mix for a long time, and for whatever reason watching through this series it finally clicked for me what I need to do to make a properly good sounding mix. It's funny because I've spent years recording and mixing my own stuff and could never hit "that" sound that I've always wanted. Ironically I achieved the mix I wanted all with just headphones - referencing the mix with blue-tooth speakers and my car stereo. It's sounds incredible compared to any other mix I've done. Thank you for your work with GGD (I'm using the P4 kit), with Periphery, and for making these tutorials for free.

    Transient designer instead of a noise gate! Yes! It makes so much sense. You're the best Nolly

    Oh I had to do something similar for my cheap toms and mics. It worked fine to me, so thank you. It means I'm not doing things wrong

    Beautiful tutorial like always. Please teach us your approach on tunning toms and your mic position approach. All the toms on the Modern & Massive kit are tunned to perfection!

      Juan Ortiz is you see his Creative Live with Matt go on sale, be sure to grab it. He goes through how he tunes all the drums and even gives his typical note choices for each head etc, he also shed how he mics everything

    You try to control the transients with a limiter and compression. Why do you prefer those tool over dialing down the attack on the transient designer?

    • @jobelewis6416
      @jobelewis6416 5 лет назад +5

      Floris Backx I think it’s safe to assume he is mixing them as if they were played by a real drummer instead of hypothetically changing the drummers technique somehow

    How do you set up your workflow like that?? The way it looks is what I mean, the way you have the toms in a group and the same thing for the cymbals, etc… if you have a video for how to create that can you share it or create a video on how to do it?? Thanks.

    Thanks for a great video.
    Question: How did you get the Pro Q to freeze?

    How is there zero cymbal bleed? Are you just mixing samples?
