    Yoke with progressive steering would be ideal but the real loss is the removal of the stalk.

    • @flargosa
      @flargosa Год назад +1

      Only issue with progressive steering is the potential loss of road feel, since there are more moving parts in the steering mechanism, between your hands and the tires. Ideally you want to feel a direct connection to the road, not a floaty disconnected feeling when driving.

      Yoke and stalk is what car is all about
      looking for button = distracted while driving (feels weird for car with buttons, non-essential ones are okay)

    Tesla mobile tech here. Avoid these mods at all costs. I’ve seen several 3/Y’s where the airbag deployed after an accident and the new cover made the airbag deploy incorrectly and even some pieces of the cover itself ejected right in the face of the driver.
    Worst part is that when we or whoever does the documentation for the insurance company we take note of the mod. The insurance then denies any compensation for damage in your face since your mod may have caused it.
    Also, this voids quite some warranties in your car. We can see in our logs every single connector you have disconnected and reconnected as soon as we connect to your car for any service you may need.
    These videos are all either fully paid or sponsored by the manufacturers. And they don’t care about your safety. It’s just not worth it.

    Thank you for the video bro. Planning on getting the new 2023 model S soon. The Yoke is definitely not for everyone. I’m sure practice and repetition is gonna be muscle memory after awhile. But I’m going for the Yoke steering wheel. I appreciate the time you took to make this video and the 100 point turn lol. Cheers and stay safe!

    Very informative im switching to the yoke on 2023 model s

  • @jamespaul1835
    @jamespaul1835 6 месяцев назад +2

    Switched to the Round wheel on my model S when Tesla made it available. At first I was excited like a kid with a new toy. It smelled like new material and felt good. After the honey moon ended I realized what was better about the Yoke. The car is easier to get into with the Yoke. The visibility is better with the Yoke. The way the whole dash looks better with the Yoke. The autopilot experience is nicer with the Yoke. The car looks more unique and futuristic with the Yoke . One thing better about the round wheel is for people who want to drive with their hand on the wheel like a gangster. I don’t do that. The other thing better is tight maneuvers involving quick changes of direction like zig zagging in a parking lot. Both wheels suffer from using the turn signal when the wheel is turned more than 90 degrees. Both wheels should have come with a push button horn on the center.

  • @ghostcheetokill
    @ghostcheetokill Год назад +3

    best yoke was the one that still had stocks, you have visibility for the screen infront of you in the model S and X and you also get the normal horn, and the shifter we are all familiar with.
    So what I would do is buy a normal donut steering wheel, then seperately buy the old yoke steering wheel and replace the donut with it

    Hi Chris, I have a model S with a yoke and I enjoyed your video. The only times the yoke bothers me (all points that you made) are the horn (lame) finding the correct turn signal button when the yoke isn’t straight, and finally, when in FSD it isn’t as easy to let the yoke slide between your fingers in a turn

    A few issues with the yoke is the blinkers are too close to the volume/menu wheel. I'm finding I put the blinker on (can't hear it with the stereo on) when I use the volume/wheel. Horn button also(hard to find), high beam has a mind of it's own.(can't seem to leave it on high when I want it.) The Yoke is nice, I love it! No issues , because when you are driving you never need to go more than 45 degrees unless you are parking or going very slow.(then it's be careful time not to scrape the wheels because right front is hard to judge).

    Great Video!!! Obviously Lexus's yoke steering makes more sense with better technologies! I rather have Yoke with "HORN" on the airbag plus a traditional shifter! Yoke steering is fine but no shifter is a no no. Try to squeeze your new MX into a tight spot without a shifter is a pain in the behind. Your right hand needs to swiping up & down or utilizing the bottom of the console to select gear is a joke. Just not to mention it takes couple of seconds to have the gear selection pops up at the console or it won't even pop up sometimes! After the test drive on both new MS/X, I gave up on both! NO SHIFTER on MS or X is the main reason I'm keeping my MXP100D and got a new MYP instead.

    NO YOKE (for Teslas). So many things wrong with this. You need to adjust the steering ratio after this mod. It looks/ feels awkward when doing u turns and parallel parking. Should not be able to rotate past 90-92 degrees with this yoke. See how the Lexus RZ450 does it. There is no hand over hand or excessive rotation. It uses variable “steer by wire” ratios to achieve this beautifully. Also during parallel parking or other micro maneuvers, the rear camera display should stay ON so you can see both sides. I have a Y and hate not having that simple feature both our VWs have.

    Yokes on cars are silly. They are for pilot wannabes. I’m a pilot and used to Cessna and other aircraft yokes. Want a yoke?, learn to fly
    I prefer a stick on aircraft either side or center. We’ll have to wait for drive by wire or until FSD gets to level 3 od 4. And the stick is just for manual driving maybe in close quarters.
    People just think the yoke looks like the future and makes them cool. If you have to feel cool, Grow up. The wheel has endured the test of time. No adaption is necessary.
