RacingVision is brighter on any weather. That's how the camera recorded them with auto settings. After that I changed to manual settings to show Osram CBI next Gen exactly like in reality. But you can also see the light meter tests. Those are the most important ones.
Definetely the Osram bulb does not really deliver a 5000K light tone. Yet, based on this video, the Osram outperforms the Philips bulb by quite a margin, even though the Phlips one offers up to 200% more brightness. Great video.
They look way better in the recording on good weather than in reality. if you want to see how bad Osram is look at the Rain road test. There you'll see them just like they are in reality. RacingVision GT200 are way better. Look at the lightmeter results.
On dry weather they looked a lot better than in reality because I set the camera on auto. on rain I adjusted the settings manually to reproduce a recording as close as possible to reality. If you take into consideration the light meter measurements, RacingVision GT200 are clearly better.
@@m3rovingian Fair point. 🙂 On My Volvo V40 the longer range GT200's would be useless, simply because it is impossible to raise the centre spot of the beam. It's preset at the factory with no in car adjustment possible, and all they would do is throw a brighter spot of light out in front of the car at the same point on the road.
@@m3rovingian They would just create a brighter "blob" of light on the road ahead, (which gives me no additional benefit.) Not a wider circle, or one that extended out further. To get that, the beams need to be raised, but I cannot do that as previously explained. It is a weakness in the cars overall design. It's predecessor, a SAAB 9000 had such adjustment, and with the right bulb selection, had superb lights, both in distance and spread. Honestly, my sons 2018 Kia has better hi-beam lights than my Volvo.😉 Especially after he upgraded the factory fitted bulbs to (at the time) the latest offerings from Phillips.🙂

Do you have a recommendation for H3 bulbs?
Try to find my personal favorite halogen: Philips WhiteVision.
It would appear that the Osram's are brighter in the dry, but in the wet , the lower K Philips bulbs are superior.
