Omg I cant agree more with you. The girl's character totally resonates with me because I'm going through it now. Similar to the movie I have been and still am in a relationship with a toxic lover. But the only difference is I got married to him. Only a few months back I have finally decided to file a divorce and we are currently staying separately. You asked why she stayed in it if she knew it was toxic. The problem is it's easier when the guy ends the relationship first or he only shows complete hatred towards her. These kinds of guys are a pro at manipulating, gaslighting and guilt tripping their partner. So she ends up feeling like she is making a mistake of leaving because he is at his lowest and he needs help to get back up. What me/her failed to realise in the initial stage is that they never respected the partner enough to change themselves and they can't be changed/fixed by someone else. I felt so much better after watching the movie though the guy's character was very much triggering to me especially at this phase of my life. And she hugged him because she loved him and only wished the best for him but she knew deep down that she has to put herself first and for that, the breakup is needed.
He is not psycho....he is too much possesive ....some persons need time to reliaze their amature behaviours..so tat it's not psychotic ..due to this many will ignore these type of guys..later will feel for them becoz after they realize they handle all situations....

Omg I cant agree more with you. The girl's character totally resonates with me because I'm going through it now. Similar to the movie I have been and still am in a relationship with a toxic lover. But the only difference is I got married to him. Only a few months back I have finally decided to file a divorce and we are currently staying separately. You asked why she stayed in it if she knew it was toxic. The problem is it's easier when the guy ends the relationship first or he only shows complete hatred towards her. These kinds of guys are a pro at manipulating, gaslighting and guilt tripping their partner. So she ends up feeling like she is making a mistake of leaving because he is at his lowest and he needs help to get back up. What me/her failed to realise in the initial stage is that they never respected the partner enough to change themselves and they can't be changed/fixed by someone else. I felt so much better after watching the movie though the guy's character was very much triggering to me especially at this phase of my life. And she hugged him because she loved him and only wished the best for him but she knew deep down that she has to put herself first and for that, the breakup is needed.
