Hey father mike so my name is Dj McCarthy I go to the youth group at st Agnes and I wanted to know I know your going to the trip to rode island retreat but are you going to the main campus Steubenville too
WOW. I just told my husband that I want to start going to mass and find out about RCIA. (I was raised outside any faith). He’s been wanting to “find a church” mumbling something about being Methodist even though he was baptized and raised Catholic because being Methodist is “easier”. 🤦🏻♀️ Anyway we went to the local Catholic Church to get information and he will indeed have to do a little legwork concerning his TWO previous marriages (both of which were civil only). I know I need to spend a lot of time and put in a lot of hard work to build a strong faith foundation (which I’m actually motivated to do because I believe that the Catholic faith does have the fullness of truth). I don’t want to settle for an immediate “easy” connection to Jesus, I want to build a strong, deep, lasting relationship. This video is totally reflective of my life TODAY. Thank you for the timely pep talk Fr. Mike. 👍
Hi, I'm finishing RCIA this Easter. My priest gave me a copy of the book Rediscover Catholicism. It has changed my life. I am converting from being a protestant. Best of luck. I too had to take care of annulments.
I’m not in any rush. I want to do this right and start with a solid, strong foundation. (RCIA for me wouldn’t start until around Labor Day, and it honestly sounded like it might be a basic catechesis crash course.) I will definitely check out that book you recommended M.D. (I’m planning to do a LOT of independent study until I start RCIA). Thanks Jeremy and M.D. for your kind words and encouragement. 👍
In my family, whenever anyone has experienced a hardship (no matter how small or big) we always say it was "an opportunity to build character". I absolutely love that as a mindset - that there is nothing that is so horrible that it will utterly tear you down - in fact it is quite the opposite, it builds you up. Provided you have the perseverance to do the work and the humility to go to God to ask for strength.
I really needed this. I’m new to the faith it has completely changed my life to a degree that shocks everyone but the last few weeks have been difficult and this was exactly what I needed
Father's emotions are always very transparent. I sense he needs our prayers. I have never understood how he avoids mental and spiritual exhaustion -- and the burden of having so many people think him a saintly man.
If Father Mike wants our prayers, I think he will say so. “Sensing” things doesn’t seem helpful (or necessarily accurate) to me. He’s got a great message and I celebrate his ministry.

I have been journaling online for 7 days straight now (one of my lenten promises) and it starting to wear off and I dont feel like doing it anymore. But your video is just mind blowing! Well said Father Mike... This tends to happen to everyone, we get excited at doing something new in the beginning. But over a period of time when it becomes monotonous, we tend to give it up. This happened to me lot. I now understand how to overcome come this feeling. Have a blessed lent ahead!!

Father Michael, Wonderful, strong message to keep going when the newness wears off, and life begins to challenge us. To keep striving with Christ-- in mind, body, and spirit. To persevere, against obstacles, praying Archangel Michael will hear us. When we cry out, when sorrow overcomes our reason, and we question, why? Obstacles can sometimes feel too difficult, to endure, day to day. We light candles. We pray. The endurance... the meditation, on OPENING OUR HEARTS to the only true... LOVE ... God.
The past few weeks for me has been a practice in just going through the motions to get through my day while trying so hard to find a renewed spirit. Been praying so hard for direction. And then this popped up. I needed this.

I liked the Part when Simon Peter was strong and full of energy chopping the slave Marcus ear; Then when he encounters the buffeting winds or the bigest - denying that he knew his Lord; Then you said that he came to his base foundation at the sea of Galile and told the Lord he loves him. You go on to say that St paul talks about the beatings he received and how he also levels out persevering in faithfulness. This thread you describe of picking up the cross everyday or when one falls and gets up again. I will be honest with you. It struck me to seek meditation on this theme. Does it strike you to expand that for us. You think. Thank you Fr Mike!
I need advice I need help I personally have never been religious. I know nothing about Christianity tbh. I know nothing about Mother Mary. I've NEVER dreamed about them, until a few nights ago. I dreamed that the world was ending, people were dissapearing, and the sky opened up and there stood a giant woman made of gold and her infant son who was also made of gold. They were so beautiful there was no words to describe it. In the dream Mary was trying to comfot her crying child as she took the last of the souls to heaven. I was left behind, and she looked down at the rest of us heartbroken. This is very emotional for me to think of. I've never had a dream of her before in my entire life. The topic of her hasnt come up in my everyday life either. The day before this dream happened I broke down and I was talking to my boyfriend about how I wanted to change. How I wanted to be more organized, get over my fears, and improve myself. Then I had this dream. What does it mean????
