I stumbled across your channel and am so thankful! Your tips are wonderful. I've been into your shop a few times now, and have always been helped in a friendly & courteous manner. I did get some of that stabilising tape (the thin one) - and am so glad I've now seen how you use it with your knits (which is 90% of my sewing these days). I also use clear elastic on seams which helps a lot - on shoulders (for adult patterns) but particularly on waist seams for leggings and dresses.
On a complete different note. Now during lockdown. I have taken out my inherented over locker. I am battling with the tention on a Toyota and a empisal machine (they are in good working order even though 20+ yes old) is there a tip or any way that you can help me.
Wendy Snow if it is tensions that is out, my first suggestion will be to try a good quality thread. The no name brand threads are known to pull tight when sewing and can effect the tension when sewing. We have seen it over and over again at our store. If it is still not working, I would suggest taking it for a good service, so you know the tensions and timing are set in correctly. Then from there it is easy to do slight adjustments on tension. I will look at covering tensions in my next tip video and discuss trouble shooting your overlocker.
Are you referring to the tape I sewed when overlocking ?We sell it for 80cents per meter, it comes in black and white. Can’t remember what it is called, but have been using it for years.
Thanks love your top

Do you prefer seralon cotton ?
I do, I mainly work with Seralon. It is colourfast andI it has a bit of give, so I find I never get seams that pop under stress
Elsabe Hurn thank you , can you please give us more info on the tape ?
