      They have been doing something that's what background checks are for. Unfortunately you have to realise you are never going to know who's who in life, that person had already crossed the line and wanted to harm others and regardless what tool they would have used they would have found a way to make people feel their pain.

    You wanna know something. I was also bullied in school for being autistic and I was socially isolated spending most of my days inside my bedroom. But I would never ever EVER do something as horrific as going into a school full of innocent men woman and mostly children who haven’t even experienced the full extent of the precious commodity that we all know as LIFE and go guns blazing littering the school hallways with bullet holes and the floors drenched in blood. It just goes to show that not all people like me who were treated badly by society and by our classmates are monsters. If I were there that day inside the school before he started the massacre I would make sure the shooter wouldn’t graze one teacher staff or student with a bullet. That’s a fact not a lie.

    The USA needs to reform it's gun laws. There are many ways to do this such as:
    1. Raising the minimum age for semi-autos to 21 or higher
    2. High school Diploma required for semi-autos
    3. Doctor's approval needed to buy a gun
    4. Guns require registration
    5. Enforce the Red Flag Laws
    6. Background check on all sales including private sales
    7. A 2 week waiting period to buy a gun and an additional week waiting period to buy ammunition
    8. Limit the amount of guns and ammo that can be purchased at a time
    9. Safety course training required
    Notice I didn't say anything about bans. Personally I think the USA should have the same gun laws as Sweden or the Czech Republic

    • @scottasleson3324
      @scottasleson3324 11 месяцев назад +1

    • @riclate2013
      @riclate2013 11 месяцев назад

      It's a mixed bag with the age rising to 21 especially since you'll allow an 18 year old to go off to war with better weapons and equipment than most people can get but not let a civilian of the same age have a gun and learn responsibility with it. Guns already require registration that's what serial numbers are for and why ghost guns were to be banned, that's also why it's illegal to remove those serial numbers on a registered gun, background checks are already a thing you can't walk into a gun store and grab a gun no questions asked, this isn't the 40s anymore, waiting periods never worked that's why the Brady bill was removed, limiting ammo and sales purchases doesn't work either as you'd be surprised how long people can wait that's what happen in California. Not only that but multiple firearms purchases is already notified to the ATF. FFLs are required to notify them when someone buys multiple guns within a short amount of time (actually within the gun community this has been debated and many don't agree with the ATF harassing people if they buy multiple guns. Even with that it never stops anything), doctors get sh*t wrong especially in the mental department it's a little scary that's why so many people take medication they don't need and also you'll never know who's who that's why situational awareness is important. Every gun owner should already know gun safety and training that's literally what every responsible gun owner does, if you want to be honest you'd be making bad people who get guns legally more dangerous with all that training requirements. At the end of the day a gun doesn't make you dangerous you make yourself dangerous.

      @@riclate2013 I am not comparing apples to oranges. I am trying to think of solutions that could work without having to lose our 2nd Amendment rights otherwise reactionaries are going to push for the insane gun laws of countries like Australia because doing nothing will not make the problem go away.

    • @riclate2013
      @riclate2013 11 месяцев назад

      @@RiggsBF I understand that completely but unfortunately this isn't really a gun issue when it comes down to it guns are just tools like any other. Ask yourself why do people commit these evils why do they feel the need to harm others. Most people who commit these crimes normally have something against society, they have alot if anger and hatred for it and feel alone in life like no one cares for them. So they go out get the tools necessary to make people feel their pain, they are pushed by themselves and their environment to commit their crimes, they are created and the sooner we realize that hey this isn't the guns fault and take actually responsibility rather than just blaming an object to make ourselves feel better. This isn't going to stop until we as a collective society admit to ourselves that we failed people and our communities in general.

    Was it ever explained how the shooter was equipped with thousands of dollars worth of new weapons and ammo? He, nor his family, had any sort of money. I guess the weapons also played into the scenario of the cops allowing the shooting to go on, waiting in the school's hallway for over 90 minutes before bursting into that classroom. Once the cops entered the classroom, the perpetrator was dead withing five minutes!!! It makes you think, though, doesn't it!

    • @gdawg614

      yeah makes one think why did they wait 90 minutes while an off duty border patrol agent broke into the school through a window, and neutralized the shooter. the cops should have engaged the second they entered the school. its allmost as if the police lack of action, and the shooters mission and how he got equipped were by design.

    Folks, the right solution for Texas, and the whole country, is to raise the age to purchase semi-auto rifles to 21 years old. Why, because a teenagers brain is not fully developed and they are susceptible to poor decision making and often do not have skills to make rational decisions. If you do not believe me, take a Developmental Psychology course. The politicians in Texas are dead wrong on this issue.

      Gun control is about making certain weapons illegal, and making it harder for people to access weapons. Not impossible, but hard so that only responsible Gun owners will have access. And even then that won't be enough. We need to have mental health in all our schools, cause that's where these problems can be caught.
