- In this video, we are talking about Japanese movie theaters and how to book tickets online through the website.
I would have liked to share more footage if inside a theater here. Unfortunately when I went it was busy and to respect peoples privacy I choose not to film in at the theater.

Glad I could help :)
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Stay connected. 🙏
Hey! That was really helpful, thanks a lot for the video. However I'd like to ask a question: If I'm visiting for the first time, so I don't have a Japanese phone number whatsoever and I want to "book" the ticket in advance, how would I do it without Japanese phone number ? Is it impossible ? Would I have to use a proxy service that would buy the ticket for me or do I have to contact someone from there ? Thanks a lot
That is my question. How did you do it?
Hello, I apologize for the very late reply! The phone number isn't verified, but you will need to use it to get the tickets from the machine, so simply entering a fake number in the box should be sufficient. The Japanese phone format is: 070-XXXX-XXXX.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. Will an American phone number work when picking up tickets from the VIT machine? Thank you.

@daninjapan2032 thank you.
Are there other forms of payment…like can we get a payment code to pay via Konbini ?
Buying them at the convenience store is something we used to be able to do. I'm not sure if it's possible anymore, but I remember it being quite complicated and requiring a fair bit of Japanese ability.
Another way of booking:
Many movie theaters have ticket vending machines, and you could go to the theater a few days early to get the tickets and seating you would like.
You could just click the help in English button ?
Hey Steve, thanks for your comment. The help in English button will only take you to a separate page that outlines the procedures.
This video is more of a detailed walk through on how to book and to share a bit about the theaters in Japan .
Have a great day!
