    I use a piece of pool noodle to get my daughters 20” Trek Roscoe 20 to fit nicely on my 6 bike Velocirax.

      A trick: watch movies at Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.

      I’d like to know too. I’ve got two kids’ 20” bikes as well as 2 adults bikes.

    As far as clearance goes with hitch racks go, I modded my Northshore rack to be higher. On mountain roads I found they don't have ground clearance. Problem is people under 6 foot won't be able to load very easily.

    If you have a full size truck would you be able to drop the tailgate?

    Hello Clint, could you tell me the measurements of the basket? I would like to know the length, width, height and degree of inclination if you would be so kind. Greetings from Argentina

    Great videos on the racks, super informative and factual. Is there any configuration where you can mount two drop bar bikes plus two mountain bikes? We currently have a Thule T2 pro, but the extension would be excessively long on our camper van. Thanks!

      I have not tried that yet, as I only have one drop bar bike, but I don't see it being an issue.

    Do you happen to have an update with how well it works with a 20" race BMX? I'm trying to find a hitch option that works best with race bikes and 29er MTBs. Thanks!

      Honestly I would just go with something like the Kuat NV 2.0 and get the 20-in wheel adapter.

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  3 года назад

      The Saris MTR is a good choice too. It just takes slightly longer to adjust it for different wheel sizes.

      @@ClintGibbs Thanks! I'm trying to find something that will work for us to carry at least 2 race bikes and 4 mtbs when we go on road trips, Jordie Lunn and Steve Smith bike parks. I think a 6+ bike carrier will be overkill most of the time... But wonder if it's better to just go big and not have to worry about having to figure out where a bike should go?

    Have you compared the weight between the V rack and the Kuat 4 bike

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  3 года назад +1

      I don't really have a scale that could weigh the racks but they feel pretty similar. I tried finding the specs on their websites but could not find anything. Both racks take some muscle to lift.

    Can you secure the bike? Meaning does it have a cable to lock them.

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  3 года назад

      This rack does not come with a built-in cable. Like the 1up racks and the racks from Quickr Stuff, you need to supply your own cable and lock. But there is a loop on the main bar that you can run a cable through

    How many ebikes and how heavy each can be?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  2 года назад

      From twowheelingtots.com:
      Every Velocirax has the same weight capacity. 55 pounds per tire hoop, but only 230 pounds total. If you ride regular bikes, this weight capacity is more than enough. If you ride ebikes, you'll need to watch that weight capacity.

    Is it easy to steal bikes from this bike rack? And how easy is it to steal the rack when no one is looking?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  3 года назад

      You would need a cable to lock bikes onto the rack if you're parked somewhere and not watching the bikes. There is not an integrated lock on this rack.

    what that that rack be like if was in UK as in 2030 all new cars by electric or Hydrogen

    • @ClintGibbs

      In my opinion all vehicles will be electric in 15 years. But hitch receivers aren't going away even with electric vehicles.

    I just don’t see the benefits. The kuat 4 would be your best option.

      The real benefit of vertical racks is carrying more than four bikes.

    • @EpicRev1
      @EpicRev1 3 года назад +5

      Vertical racks are more capable (weight) than horizontal racks. All the top-quality ( Kuat, Thule, Yakima, 1 Up US) horizontal racks typically require a hitch with a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. If someone wants to carry more than 2 E-bikes a vertical is a way to go. Of all the vertical racks on the market, the Velocirax is the easiest to load bikes (my wife has no issue loading her bike) , plus they hold the bikes by the wheel, using fenders. Two bike racks from Kuat, Thule, Yakima, and 1 Up USA run $650-$800. Four bike upgrades will bring the total of these 4 racks $1350-$1500. The Velicorax 4 bike versions are $760. I own a Thule XT Pro, a 1 Up USA, and a Velocirax, and hands down the Velocirax as the winner.
