- Ingredients:
Nati Koli/Country Chicken - 1 kg
Onion - 1/2 finely chopped
Salt - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Tomato puree - 1 tomato
Coconut milk - 1 coconut
Coriander leaves for garnishing - 1/2 cup
Ingredients for Masala 1:
Onion - 1 & 1/2 (roughly chopped)
Green chilly -2
Guntur red chilly - 6
Coriander seeds - 3 tbsp
Garlic - 8 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Cloves - 5
Ingredients for Masala 2:
Onion - 1 (roughly chopped)
Putani (Roasted chana) - 2 tbsp
Kaskas (Poppy seeds) - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Let's make Masala 1:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
2. Add roughly chopped onions.
3. Add coriander seeds.
4. Add Ginger & Garlic.
5. Add cinnamon stick & cloves.
6. Add green & red chilies.
7. Fry till the onion turns translucent.
8. Once it cools add to a mixer jar and make a fine paste.
9. Masala 1 is ready.
Let's make Masala 2:
1. In a mixer jar, add roughly chopped onion.
2. Add coriander leaves.
3. Add Putani (Roasted Chana)
4. Add Kaskas (Poppy seeds)
5. Make a fine paste.
6. Masala 2 is ready.
Method:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a cooker.
2. Add finely chopped onion and fry for a minute.
3. Add Nati Koli (Country Chicken). Mix well and fry for 15 minutes.
4. Chicken starts leaving water.
5. Add salt and turmeric powder. Mix well and fry for a minute.
6. Add 1 cup of water. Close the lid and let it whistle - 2.
7. Once the pressure releases, Open the lid. Switch on the stove.
8. Add tomato puree and mix well.
9. Now add Masala 1 and mix.
10. Add Masala 2 and give a good mix.
11. Add thin coconut milk. Mix well.
12. Now add thick coconut milk. Mix well.
13. Close the lid and let it whistle -2.
14. Once the pressure releases, Open the lid. Switch on the stove.
15. Add coriander leaves. Give a good boil.
16. Ready to serve!!!
