The motion tracker only tracks objects that are moving. Also, having it out draws attention of hostile survivors, androids, and the Alien because of the noises it generates.
When the alien spots you and jumps into the vents, if you run or move from the spot it saw you, it will not detect you. This is the ONLY time when you can actually run away (and which is better to do it so) from the alien. This happens also if there are objects in between you and the alien blocking the view, and you find a blind spot to move (
I enjoy watching people play. Especially a game like this one. It’s like: “Alright. Alien gone. Let’s crawl. Oh look! Something I can craft. Sweet.” Or the Alien is looking for you and you see something you can craft on top of a crate because you peaked up to see where it is. You wanna get it but the Alien might see you. So you don’t. Not yet. After it leaves the room, you quickly get up, grab it and crouch back down again.
Actually makes the most sense to play this level as Ransome or Lingard, since their fates are undisclosed, and this has whoever the player has selected escaping Sevastapol on a shuttle (ruling out Amanda or Axel).
Well, it's Axel's DLC. The shuttles are only for short-range transport between the three towers of Sevastopol, or so it says in the in-game tips. He's not leaving the station, just relocating.
dcruze AH, forgot the detail that they were only short-range shuttles. Though he did get a lot of coolant for such a small trip (going by how much Ripley gathered in Alien).
Axel dlc doesnt make sense because at the start he refers the Alien as a "killer" and couldn't be specific with Ripley as if he never saw what was killing the people at the station. Plus hes dodging the Alien as we see here. He would never get any close inthe vents thus not getting killed behind by surprise.
I look at these missions as there is an unseen ally who is doing the other half of the mission. maybe Axel had a friend who left him behind and is so hesitant to trust Ripley. or maybe Axel was the one who left the friend behind and was planning to eventually betray Ripley if he ever got so far. I know there are comics and other books that follow up on what happened to Ripley, but if you don't consider those canon, then maybe it was one of those shuttles that flashed the flood lights on her. I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but if you're having trouble starting it: Select 'Play Game', then 'Survivor Mode', and then go right until you can select 'Lost Contact'
I think this one is more enjoyable than Safe Haven. I just completed Lost Contact with Axel and had a crapload of fun. Once I was sandwiched right between a Working Joe and the Alien. After thinking for exactly 2.1 seconds, I made a dash for the exit and barely made it. Fuck this game is good. Safe Haven wasn't that good. The server room layout and final stages really soured the experience. But this one is just right.
It's been a long time since I played this, but I have this in my guide: "If you did not get the keycard earlier, you need to follow the corridor to the very end and go through the door to your left. The keycard is in the hand of the dead body in the nearest hospital room."
I think later when I did my speedruns, I used to drop a flare in the corridor next to where the looters are in Stage 6 towards the end of Stage 5. Then they get distracted and you have free reign to where you need to go...
I had to deal with two at the end; got through it with a bunch of noise-makers and pipe bombs. Very stressful, considering I hadn't saved, but made it through. I thought hacking during the finale would seem boring but it's a whole different kettle of fish when two aliens are stomping about nearby. :P
Is it possible to play these on different difficulties? The last level I played the main campaign was on Nightmare, but there seems to be way to much loot to be on that in the DLC's. Or, does the AI simply remember my play style through the main campaign? Because the first time I hid in a locker in a DLC, it knew to come and sniff me out, and usually it has to "learn" that first. Also, if I "peek" for too long, the alien sees me, and it doesn't seem to ever see his peeking. No fair!
+Distant System yeah :) ... the best way to get around him is play lorenz stage 8, and leave a flare at the end of the hallway, then the android will be off exploring that in stage 9 (usually).
Dallas, Lingard, Axel and Ricardo do not have the hacker tool in their load-out, they need to find it in the levels (there's always one lying around somewhere).
personally I had to refund the game. not because it was bad its just because the sound of those vent tunnels opening and closing made me shit myself forget the alien when that happened i had to smoke 3 cigarettes to calm down
Save in Lost Contact is not working. After four successful missions have enough points to save. Save. Go to sleep. Tomorrow there was no trace of it, must start from beginning. Developers killed the enjoyment in a game with their intellectual capabilities.
When you save in survivor mode, it is not persistant - the saves are only valid for that session, so if you exit the mission / quit the game it gets deleted
@@dcruze Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am not a gamer, I didn't know what are these acronyms and kind of a play (dlc, nightmare, respawn, spawn... whatever). I just like the movie so I tried :) Thank you once more.
Axel does have a tracker. I think it's standard on any of the characters you choose. it's the flamethrower and access tuner that you have to find (or rewarded in the case of the flamethrower) if you choose a character with a loadout that doesn't have either.
17:47 - 18:30 to hear a grown man cry lol sounds like that camera girl from the blair witch project. Should have been playin as amanda ripley to make this scene all the more embarrassing with a girl keepin keepin calm while he wets his pants. XD
I get it that you may like to play your games dark as the inside of a cave when it's just you playing but when you are recording something for others to view please lighten it up so we can see what is going on. This is way to dark . Giving me a headache from being too dark.
I wonder if the Alien has four meals a day as there are hardly any Humans left ! Only Android Which will give it a Tummy Upset ! No wonder the Alien is always Angry looking for Pepto Bismol !
If you're running directly to your destination that usually means you've played this already, maybe even many times. Meaning, it's no fun for anyone if you know exactly where you're going and what you're doing. Everything should be a surprise when playing especially when posting for your subscribers. I had to deal with two at the end; got through it with a bunch of noise-makers and pipe bombs. Very stressful, considering I hadn't saved, but made it through. I thought hacking during the finale would seem boring but it's a whole different kettle of fish when two aliens are stomping about nearby. :P
Sorry, I got it confused with Safe Haven!
He liked Amanda he never got a chance to even give her a Kiss
Is it possible to play these on different difficulties? The last level I played the main campaign was on Nightmare, but there seems to be way to much loot to be on that in the DLC's. Or, does the AI simply remember my play style through the main campaign? Because the first time I hid in a locker in a DLC, it knew to come and sniff me out, and usually it has to "learn" that first. Also, if I "peek" for too long, the alien sees me, and it doesn't seem to ever see his peeking. No fair!
The survival DLC are played exclusively on hard difficulty (you can't override it), but you can pick the difficulty in the Nostromo DLC
very lucky guy !! ---> pause at 18:50
"Perfect Organism" my ass Ash.
in human terms the xenomorph dlc
34:25 lol that didn't work out so well.
+Distant System yeah :) ... the best way to get around him is play lorenz stage 8, and leave a flare at the end of the hallway, then the android will be off exploring that in stage 9 (usually).
dcruze
Haha I'll have to try that later tonight when I get home :)
This is DLC?
Yes
How did you get the keycard before the 4th stage? WTF.
It's at 8:10 during stage 3
@@dcruze Thanks, man. I got it. :)
Where’s the hacker tool for axel?
Dallas, Lingard, Axel and Ricardo do not have the hacker tool in their load-out, they need to find it in the levels (there's always one lying around somewhere).
You're right. I have a video dedicated to that dilemma - Alien: Isolation - Lost Contact (I ain't seen it): ruclips.net/video/gOgMcgM7og4/видео.html
720p? really?
man you're a fuckin' legend. Awesome gameplay.
personally I had to refund the game. not because it was bad its just because the sound of those vent tunnels opening and closing made me shit myself forget the alien when that happened i had to smoke 3 cigarettes to calm down
This made me laugh more than it should
So AXEL NEVER ACTUALLY DIED?
This DLC is set prior to him meeting Amanda
@@dcruze so there's working Joe's there
You think the working joes just turned on when Amanda arrived, no! They were on before she arrived. Why do I feel like I’m about to be wooooshed
I swear axel said he hasn’t seen the alien that’s my problem
I dont remember this
Save in Lost Contact is not working.
I am not a gamer, I didn't know what are these acronyms and kind of a play (dlc, nightmare, respawn, spawn... whatever). I just like the movie so I tried :) Thank you once more.
wait, Axel had a tracker? Hm, so did everyone have one?
Axel does have a tracker. I think it's standard on any of the characters you choose. it's the flamethrower and access tuner that you have to find (or rewarded in the case of the flamethrower) if you choose a character with a loadout that doesn't have either.
Chantit Simma Yes it is standard. But some of those characters dont have a flamethrower at the beginning.
17:47 - 18:30 to hear a grown man cry lol sounds like that camera girl from the blair witch project. Should have been playin as amanda ripley to make this scene all the more embarrassing with a girl keepin keepin calm while he wets his pants. XD
So how calm would you be in that situation?
This game is hard
Axel dies after helping ribley Jr. This story makes no sense and is irrelevant!
Not worth watching at all.
