What a fun bunch of books you read in June, Gina! I read my first Austen last year. I think I did a rare vlog of the experience! It was Emma. 🥰

I did not realize To Say Nothing of the Dog was related to Three Men in a Boat! It’s been on my radar for a long time but now I must read it! And you’ve also got me wanting to read the Sarah Plain and Tall books as well. A lovely video as always!

This was a very nice video. I’m having open heart surgery in 9 days and want to take some light reading to hospital. Sarah, Plain and Tall and the rest are the answer. I’m going to the library tomorrow to get them. Perfect recommendation. Enjoy your channel.

I am starting on my first retro romance book today, a summer of awakening by Frances Barney! I am currently on the hunt for Marcia Willetts as I write this😅. Have a great day Gina!

Oh Gina, it's a beautiful day here in northwestern Pennsylvania also. I read in my hammock under the trees with the sun peeking through the leaves ❤ I just finished Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel and now I'm (uncharacteristically) reading a nonfiction called Hope (how street dogs taught me the meaning of life) by Niall Harbison.

I am reading the series of books by Bella Ellis . The Brontë sisters turned detectives. The first one The Vanished Bride, then the diabolical Bones, then The Red Monarch and finally A Gift of Poison. They are really good Gina. Think you would enjoy them.

Hi Gina, I read four books in June. My favorites were Gentian Hill and Dockside Lakeshore Chromicles # 3 by Susan Wiggs. Which is a lower spice contemporary romance series recommended by Sarah from The Bookish Knitter. Looking Forward, and The Excitements are going on my TBR. . I'm loving Mansfield Park so far.

I'm glad you liked To Say Nothing of The Dog! Willis definitely makes her books too long in places, this is the shortest one in the series too I think. It's funny you read a book I recommended because I'm reading a book you recommended, The Shell Seekers! I'm really enjoying it and it reminds me of Elizabeth Jane Howard who I love (and she even gets a mention in the book).

Hi Gina, I just ordered Three Men in a Boat and Cold Comfort Farm, so that should be interesting.
I wondered if you had read the middle grade trilogy by Richard Peck, and the first is I believe, How Far from Chicago? They are wonderful and heart warming and not long. About two kids who go to spend a few weeks each summer with their grandmother who is rather a woodsy character, and very funny. I just loved those books! ❤❤❤😊😊😊

I like Aaron Read a Book's channel. Funny that you said he has a nice British accent because since I've moved to England I've had people here tell me they like my American accent. The first time I heard it I laughed because I never considered people liking an American accent. I always thought we were basically made fun of for many reasons our accent being one of them
Every time I watch your videos my tbr gets longer

If is! It’s still beautiful but a teeny bit pretentious now (which I don’t remember it being back in the day). You know, full of very rich and very fancy homes. I prefer a bit more cottage-y I suppose.

Cold Comfort Farm is a parody of a kind of British rural fiction. (Novels like “Precious Bane” by Mary Webb) Current events are making me tense so I’m looking for cozy.

Hello my friend! Presently reading Mary Stewart's Rose Cottage. Struggling w/id, don't know why other than I'm not feeling well. Home from 3 wks. of Rehab. Talked my way out. Jenn mentioned the same bk. about the 3 children. Really want to read now that BOTH of you recommended. Love the Sarah Plain and Tall bks. and movies! Read and watched all. I ALSO subscribe to Victoria mag. Have since '88 or '89. Used to keep every issue. That was the issue I brought into Rehab, as well as The Blue Bedroom, every story excellent except maybe 1or2, which were good. Have you read anything by Rosamunde Pilcher's son, Robin Pilcher? It was high 90's and high humidity here for the 3 wks. in Rehab. 😑 Thanks Gina 🤗
