I thought i had done an update on the radio, but its saying update time is NOV-29-23 I've only had it for a couple of months. So, when i updated it, it didn't work!! . I have the same setup in my nitro 1/8 and it works fine although it is with the other receiver that came in the package
Took multiple tries to get the manual update to start, it wouldnt pick up the transmitter until i unasigned usb to trainer mode and then back to usb. Then once it had recognised it, click update on the transmitter, the transmitter temporary turns itself off and on and this then loses the connection, and wouldn't reconnect. Had to go through this a few times until eventually it turned itself off and on then recognised the device. Anyone without patience or a bit of knowledge with a pc might not persist and give up. All this after a 5 min wait for flysky assistant to boot, then realising the download gets stuck on 0%. Need a spoiler in the video craig saying skip to 8 mins if you dont want to lose the will to live. 😅
Regarding the export/import speed, just because the NB4+ has USB-C, that only half of the "data connection factor". The other half of the equation is what type of USB port you are connecting to on the computer. If the computer end is slow, the export/import, as well as the actual update process, will be slow. In other words, even if the radio had the fastest port in the world, whatever the data speed is of the computer's USB port, if it's anything slower than the USB-C port on the radio, that is the 'bottleneck'...so, the USB-C port on the NB4+ wouldn't necessarily be "at fault". The "fault" could be with the USB port on the computer. The solution is (as I think you had done) to use a USB-C to USB-C cable. Typicall,y the speed would be faster, and the amount of time the update takes would be shorter. However, there is another possibility, and that is that the software could have a data speed cap, and 'updating' the software might not be a realistic solution. Just as Castle had to release a completely new CastleLink app after releasing the Cobra 8 ESC, which is capable of programming the 32-bit processor inside the Cobra 8 ESC, FlySky might need to release a new "from the ground up" Assistant that's capable of accessing there faster data speeds of USB-C, as a completely different controller chip is used for USB-C.
It's definitely not an issue with the cable or the usb c port they both work at full speed with an external nvme SSD, the issue is flysky assistant it's total garbage lol also the usb c on the nb4+ won't be the bottleneck it's the internal storage chip that's way slower at writing but it doesn't need to be that fast there not a huge amount of data being written it's just assistant is sooooo slow at doing anything no matter what it's running on, the nb4+ usb does have a faster speed then the micro usb on the nb4 or pro though but don't think for assistant it will help at all :(
When you get it out the box the receivers will be same firmware as the radio, it's always best to update the radio and the receivers to latest firmware
Hey, is there someone with the binary .exe file of this version for Europe model? As some of the latest comments, I have one colleague with version 1.0.7 and he wants to rollback to 1.0.5 but there is no way to find that version and well, flysky just puts the newest firmware without an option to obtain the old last one which is a nonsense... Who can provide us the file to install that version please?
Why roll back ? But if you connect to assistant v3 you can select the older version firmware but not sure why you would want to ?

@@WTFRCCars 1.0.7 seems to have the same issue than previous to 1.0.5 with the brightness flickering, at least here I have couple of friends with that issue and the only one with 1.0.5 is working flawlessly so thats I want that firmware specifically. @@WTFRCCarsthanks for your answer. Thought you would like to hear this: it was my PC. Tried on my wife’s and it detected the transmitter right away. Everything was correct, just a certain PC could have unknown restrictions. Have a good one mate! Thanks for always being there to help.
I have updated my original NB4 many times without issue but for some reason I can't with the +. It connects perfectly to Flysky assistant but it doesn't show in the firmware window
So it could be a few things but 1st try removing and re fitting the base battery fixes it most time with a new radio as the contacts can sometimes still have grease on them and don't connect right till it's removed and re fitted
@@WTFRCCars This is very strange I can get it to connect to the firmware updater if I use the battery from my original NB4. Which I find odd because like I said in my previous comment I can connect the NB4+ to assistant and backup/recover my model memories. I'm also using the usb-c cable that came with the NB4+.

No it's got too many issues and not fast enough for me to use for racing so it's not one I've bothered getting, razor RC has one and he's still trying to get the issues sorted on it but think he's stopped running it.
@WTFRCCars I have and love both transmitters, but the Radiolink has crazy range. Without buying boosters. My main problem with the Radiolink is battery life. The Flysky hands down wins with battery life.
@robertshelton2605 for me there are just too many reports of the rx8 dropping connection and the radio crashing seems if you get a good one it works but if your unlucky it just keeps crashing even with the updated software. The reason radiolink radios have longer range is they are not the legal transmitter power they are way over it's also why most tracks won't allow them and why the battery doesn't last so long, I doubt anyone would ever do anything if your using one but in most countries they are not legal for use
So we are on two different pages of the book. Lol. I don't race. I Speed Bash , Bash, sometimes mini crawlers. And just started to learn drifting. I want to get into competitive racing at my local track. Just don't know what car to build.
@robertshelton2605 Best thing to do is see what people race locally 1 because you will be able to ask them about set up and 2 if you race what most people race then it's likely someone sells spares close by :)
Few things to check, 1 the updater is the same version as the radio, EN or EU, 2 the usb cable isn't broken, 3 remove the base battery and re fit it, 4 try a different pc or a usb hub as some old usb chipsets don't always support the full usb spec and don't allow you to update firmware you normally also have issues on this type of pc if you need to restore an iPhone or root and android phone but connecting through a usb hub can be a workaround :)
It connects fine to the usb on my pc, and Flysky Assistant. Strange for some reason the firmware is not picking up the radio. Maybe I have to go though Flysky Assistant in order to update? I had no issues with the NB4.

Yeh I just like to leave it running in case users are following it and think theirs has stuck so they see how long it takes :)
Sorry should have mentioned, flysky noble pro with FGR8b
Are both the transmitter and receiver on latest firmware not just the transmitter?
Radio firmware is saying 1.0.5 standard is that right!!!
1.0.5 is the latest for the nb4+
