It is not only annoying to all the people listening but it is aggravating to the performer!!! The performer is sharing music for your LISTENING enjoyments. Not your physical enjoyments from clapping your hands!!

At least they're clapping on 2 & 4 and not straight quarter notes. Come to think of it, the fact that they're on the back beat and not four per bar is, to me, an indication that the preformer started them off with the clapping.
