The Coyotes have to compete for discretionary fan and corporate sponsorship incomes with the Suns, Cardinals and Diamondbacks. Meanwhile in markets such as Oklahoma City and Sacramento in the NBA, Columbus and Raleigh in the NHL? They've learned that being the only dog at the bowl is better than being the runt of a four-team litter.
Good points. I might add simply, if a city can't support a team then that team shouldn't be there..And who in that city should support it? The fans, those who have a vested interest and the owners, that is all. In Arizona, the people agree.
Quebec City is the best bet just based on maximum revenues that any owner would receive. I have calculated that the Quebec team would generate in excess of $60 million extra per season vs remaining in the current arena in Arizona. If you add in extra money from souvenir sales, broadcast rights, advertising etc. the increased revenue would be enormous for a team in Quebec City. In Tempe
H O U S T O N 👍
If they have to stay in the central division: Austin TX, Houston TX, or Salt Lake City are reasonable options. If not, could we see a return of the Quebec Nordiques?
Bring the coyotes to Kansas City, the T mobile center has no teams playing at it currently, wouldn't have to fight for playing dates withan nba team.
Milwaukee would be the best option in the Central in my opinion, Wisconsin LOVES hockey, plus you have great rivalry with minnesota and chicago just waiting
10:43 - I understand this sentiment, but the number of markets that can support teams in all four major sports leagues is dwindling to a precious few, and there's no shame not being in that club.
Kansas City
Kansas City!!!!!!!!!!!
i am sooo glad this did not pass ahahaaha pay your tab at Glendale first NHL
Move to Quebec
Quebec City is the best bet just based on maximum revenues that any owner would receive. I have calculated that the Quebec team would generate in excess of $60 million extra per season vs remaining in the current arena in Arizona. If you add in extra money from souvenir sales, broadcast rights, advertising etc. the increased revenue would be enormous for a team in Quebec City. Till Gary Bettman retires it may not happen as he has shown such a stubbornness to keep a team in Arizona which will be his most negative downfall while on his way out.
Uh..Quebec already had an NHL team that fell on its face financially. Why should it be different now?
@@adotintheshark4848 Well does Winnipeg have a team now????
And which city has a larger population again, Winnipeg or Quebec City? Oh REALLY Quebec City is larger? And Winnipeg Jets have an NHL team that soldout EVERY home game between 2010 and 2020....ten years of home sellouts....that's a real hockey market.
Who has an NHL arena, Arizona or Quebec City???? Oh Quebec again!
Who has a higher attendance Arizona Coyotes AND the Tucson Roadrunners combined or the Quebec Remparts LMFAO OH REALLY??? Quebec AGAIN.
let's say, then, mismanagement. That will do any sports franchise in. Either that, or Quebec has an inferior arena for pro hockey. Perhaps not big enough? Anyway, the franchise is now doing well in Colorado.@@sampicano
Quebec would be great!
the problem seems to be is that Arizona is a retirement state and they do not watch hockey
But Las Vegas somehow isn't?
@@fantasticvoyage262 Las Vegas...yup synonymous with retirees...
the internet is so incredibly stupid
@@sampicano You finally have something constructive to add. You should really post more.
@@fantasticvoyage262 you seem smart how many retirees are there in Vegas? Teach us genius
@@sampicano More than Quebec City will ever have.
Coyotes.. 🇲🇽 team?
People still watch hockey...seriously???
Ice hockey in side and Las Vegas Nv Have team Go Nights Go
All is not lost jet ski hockey on Tempe Town Lake
They're not going anywhere for 2023-24
they also aren't building an arena in the next 2-4 years and playing in Mullet until 2026/2027....so what now?
Kansas City, Houston, Salt Lake City, and Milwaukee are all viable options in the Central division.
Ryan Smith Owner of the Utah Jazz and Tilman Fertita owner of the Houston Rockets have both expressed interest in an NHL team.
Quebec City has been expressing interest for years, has an NHL ready arena, and has a population larger than Winnipeg, it's the last "major" population centre in Canada without an NHL team.
Portland would work, they have the MODA Center and it's a hockey market, but Arizona will lose their team.
Phoenix is not a sports city. They could easily lose The Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Coyotes.
Quebec City will most definitely be a landing spot for the Coyotes. If so, welcome back to the NHL the Quebec Nordiques. ⚜️🏒🇨🇦
They are never going there.
@@fantasticvoyage262 but they ARE relocating somewhere, might as well put a team in the last major population centre in Canada that still doesn't have an NHL team
@@sampicano And once the novelty wears off, they'll be thousands of no shows just like the Jets now.
@@fantasticvoyage262 Sellout for 10 years straight....generate more money than a 5.5 million population city (Atlanta) support an AHL team and a WHL team and the University of Manitoba hockey teams while selling out for 10 years...
has Arizona EVER sold out Gila? Even one game?
Did you know Quebec Remparts had a higher attendance than Arizona Coyotes and the Tucson Roadrunners combined?
Obviously 800 thousand people in Quebec would support a hockey team better than 7 million people in Arizona.
Only a low iq person wouldn't be able to understand that.
@@fantasticvoyage262 HAVE THE ARIZONA COYOTES EVER SOLD OUT A HOME GAME AT GILA ARENA????
There's 7.5 million people in Arizona. Winnipeg has 830,000 thousand and sold out for ten years straight.
I mean it sounds obvious, what professional team NEVER recorded a home sellout...If I had one guess it would be the Coyotes.
So when, what day did they sell out? Which game was it? It was probably just once if it ever happened.
This week multiple NHL teams posted sold out home games LOL....Arizona NEVER. Never did it. 7.5 million people and nobody cares about hockey.
