The Kumaar Family tried Ramadan fasting for 24 hours! We wanted to see what it was like to be a Muslim in Malaysia. We woke in the middle of the night for Sahur, then attempted to go without food or water all day until night time before Iftar. This is our experience as a family!

I love the way you are trying to understand another culture by fasting, but you pray as you normally would. Religions can live side by side. Religious and non-religious people should too. The key is to show tolerance and respect, as well as mutual interest.
The thing I love about Islam is that it makes an Allowance for Muslim men to marry women outside their religion like Christians and Jews.

@@bulldozer2976 A Muslim women can marry a non Muslim man but the man has to convert to Islam, for Non Muslim women it’s optional but for men they have to convert otherwise they can’t get married.

In the fiqh, you can taste the cooking while fasting, but you have to spit it out and rinse it. Do not swallow it. Because preparing the food is an important job especially if you’re serving those who’s fasting. Prophet Muhammad said, “there are two joys for the fasting person: the joy when he breaks his fast, and the joy of when he meets his Lord.” (The first one is the joy in this world, the later is in the hereafter) And of course, a good meal brings a lot of joy to those who fast. I was worried Rachael too tired if I did the same tasks my puasa would not survive. Two kuih and running up hill for first day, extremely well done. To be honest not everybody can fast except healthy individuals

Cubaan yang bagus bro Kumaar. Sedikit pembetulan, sahur ialah perbuatan makan, bukan waktu sahur. Kalau di Malaysia, amalan biasa untuk pengiraan waktu akhir bersahur ialah waktu imsak, dimana waktu imsak ialah 10 minit sebelum azan subuh. Waktu imsak sempat lagi bersahur / makan tetapi sebaik saja azan subuh berkumandang, tidak boleh lagi makan atau minum. Contohnya hari ini waktu subuh (Fajr Prayer) disana ialah 5.03 am, bermakna waktu imsak ialah 4.53 am. Sebaik saja azan subuh berkumandang di sana (waktu azan subuh San Francisco 5.03 am), tidak boleh sudah makan & minum dan jika ada sisa makanan & minuman di dalam mulut sewaktu azan berkumandang, hendaklah dihabiskan tetapi tidak boleh amik suapan terbaru 🤣🤣🤣. Berbuka puasa pula waktu maghrib di San Francisco pada 7.55 pm, bermakna azan maghrib berkumandang saja sudah boleh makan & minum (breakfast). Apapun tahniah bro Kumaar kerana menyelami dan menghayati ibadah puasa umat Islam. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir Dan Batin kepada keluarga awak sekeluarga. 😅
Sikit pembetulan: Kebanyakan ulama berpandangan bila dah azan subuh...makanan dalam mulut tidak boleh dihabiskan. Kalau makan jugak, puasanya hari itu tidak sah. Boleh rujuk channel ustaz azhar idrus, ustaz wadi annuar, etc. Moga bermanfaat utk kita semua.

antara fakta menarik bila kau sebagai rakyat malaysia, walau kau bukan muslim.. tp turut berlumba2 nak bangun utk bersahur, berpuasa, pergi bazar ramadan, shopping baju raya dan meraikan hari raya. kes Kumar ni lagi menarik sebab dia tinggal di US, kahwin pulak dengan org US dan sah2 non muslim, abes dia 'racun' bini dia jadi Malaysian jugak...hihihi

Tips: if it's 5 minutes before the end of sahur time, definitely drink more plain water as much as you can even if you have to shove it down your throat. Your body will thank you for it

fasting is one pillar of islam, there are five pillars. 1.iman-belif in one God(no partners, no statues,no idols), 2, salah(5 times daily prayer)3. zakath(pay 2.5% of wealth to poor, 4.fasting, haj(if u can afford). iman- belif in Allah/angels/prophets and prophet mohamed is the last messenger/belif in day of judgment/books/pre-destination
@@bulldozer2976 jihad means if there is a home invasion, u attack the robbers, same goes if your country is attacked. kaffir means non beliver, in wars people get killed, be it muslims or non muslims. just go and read the Quran.

Bro, dont feel bad. Youre doing it as an adult. We did our training Since we are 6. In SG , we are not exempted when we are going through National service . Exept the training was a bit milder during this month for all regarless youre not Muslim. FYI
