Yeah that's what I was thinking too, that dizzy was real worn. I've never seen a distributor that worn. I've had several jeeps with the 4.0 at over 250k with perfectly fine distributors! I replaced the distributor in the truck last week, a more detailed video on that should be out soon. It's got good torque, but it's not real zippy, hard to push 8000 lbs very quick. Maybe with a whipple supercharger though, hmmmm.......
Horizontal play not good. Vertical play is common. The shaft is drawn downward due to the angle of drive gear , and rotation of engine. Chevy engines like that since invented. I don't see need to replace distributor over that. When buy replacement rotor, consider looking a various brands. Perhaps the someone improved the attachment of tab. I added some epoxy to my new one.
The music and excessive chit chat is not what people want..we appreciate your tips, but maybe rehearse your words and get to the point. Thanks for your effort. Look at other videos and see what you like and don't like. Could be helpful to you.
Yeah this was an impromptu video, just taking advantage of my situation. This channel isn't really a how to channel, more of just showing the different projects we're working on and having fun with them. Thanks for watching
Mad ignition , hi rise ,750 demon .
Oooh I like that!
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with all these problems 🤣
😂 just make sure you buy a good distributor, I bought a cheap one the first time and ended up having to replace it twice!
Thx budd that back t15 screw is hard to reach u aint kidding appreciate the tips!
you bet! thanks for watching!
Broken plastic on the cap and rotor is very common with that motor. 30k-50k miles is all youre going to get out of an after market replacement
Put a whole new distributor in it, it was very worn which is why the rotor hit the cap and broke ruclips.net/video/HyAwcIXrTwM/видео.html
Wonder if taking that plastic part labeled vortex were possible to ease the work
I did when swapped out the distributor, definitely helped!
zip tie re build .. great temp fix. My guess is the wear in the dist caused the rotor to make contact. Zippy is a good name for the truck

The play in the distributor is normal
I don’t think so, the new one had no slop
Why didn't you take the air intake off would gave you a lot more room
I don’t know haha, I did when I replaced the distributor, definitely helps

Yes wore out distributor,
There shouldn't be any slop in the shaft.
Yep I replaced it!
Here's a question, that I may already know.
My 99 454, has a low end knock for few seconds after start up.
Rod bearings are going correct?
@@charlesmason9625 Are you sure its a rod knock? if it goes away it could be lifter noise. IDK, I'm not great at diagnosis yet haha
I would call it make it home.
I wasn’t too far from home
