That was my uncle’s car for a while! He owned it between Jon Claude and the next owner but used a dealers license so I don’t think he was ever a “registered owner”. He’s the one that put all the money into the convertible top before Hoovie had it and that windshield latch really is SO loud when it unlatches in person. Sounds like a gunshot 🥴
I think the Min Oil is telling you minimum engine oil level rather than mineral oil. This is a gauge that has been in many Bentley and Rolls Royce vehicle to serve the purpose of checking the engine oil level.
Came to say this too. Other cars Doug has reviewed have also had gauges that perform double duty, so it was funny to me that he literally thought the car used mineral oil instead of just conventional motor oil 😄
So I have tried to find information on this, and its a little hard, but Doug may actually be right. I can see Bently people talking about checking their Mineral Oil level in the car, and how it slowly returns to the tank, so you need to check when the car hasn't been running for a while etc. It seems its used for either brake fluid or suspension components. Its very weird and not very clear.
This is one of the best and most honest reviews of the 01' Bentley Azure. Hats off to Doug De Muro and Tyler Hoovie for being so transparent on the pros and cons of this turn of the century land yacht.
This isn't correct. There are way more then 5 wide body Azures. I've had more than 2 at my shop at the same time. When Bentley says it's a specific number. Take that with a grain of salt. For instance the Bentley Arnage T-24 Mulliner has a placard that says it's X of 24. Yet there were 40 produced.
@@novik1411 The wide-body version was produced by Mulliner and designated as the "Symbollic Edition". The first three cars of the planned five from this edition were designated as 1of5, 2of5 and 3of5, but Bentley failed to complete the last two in the same year of production as the others, and in the following year designated them as 1of2 and 2of2. So in fact, the 3of5 was the last one with the 'of5' designation in this edition. On the other hand, this film shows an example of a 5of5, but not from the "Symbollic Edition" but from the "Special Edition" with a standard body. The 3of5 with the wide-body from "Symbollic Edition is currently in Poland, where it was imported as damaged from the USA and thoroughly repaired. It belongs to a well-known Polish automotive journalist, Patryk Mikiciuk, who showed the entire repair process on his RUclips channel, which can be found by simply searching for his name on YT.

I had a mercury grand marquise from ~’88. If you looked underneath the front of the car, there was about a foot of empty space between the front and the radiator, just to make the car bigger.

Nah. That car is ugly inside and out, idk why people in the comments are saying its nice to look at. the gear stick is atrocious, looks SO off centre its falling off the centre console
9:38 - “Hood” in British is in fact specifically the top on a soft top convertible. On a hard top convertible, it’s still called a roof.

I felt that comparison Doug compared this Bentley to the old school El Delraldo, only to the fact that Grandpa had an El Elderaldo.
Dough type of guy that actually cares and really tries to help out
This has to be the most inefficiently designed car post WW2. It's so huge, but doesn't actually have many features, a lot of power, or luggage capacity. Shocked it didn't even come with a stowed umbrella/parasol/picnic hamper.
p.s. Jean Claude Van Damme definitely banged in that car.
Doug Demuro: Thank you for this one. Waiting some time for a review on this rariety.
Now when I sell my 2001 Camaro I can list in the ad “Same transmission as a Bentley Azure” 😂
Doug's the type of guy to review Jean-Claud van Damme's Bentley Azure.
10:30 the roof lining stuck in the folding roof frame is just pricelss 🤣🤣
Owned by John-Claud Van Damme. Who remembers the Seinfeld episode where Castanza thought he bought car once owned by Jon Voight?
I had a mercury grand marquise from ~’88. If you looked underneath the front of the car, there was about a foot of empty space between the front and the radiator, just to make the car bigger.
Thanks Hoovie for letting Doug review it
What you have here, is a bona fide British land yacht. One that, furthermore, when new, cost as much to buy as TEN actual American land yachts. That puts matters wonderfully into perspective.
The 2 door handles will surely make top 5 in the 2023 Doug awards for quirky featuress
Doug is the type of guy that has become an advertisement for cars and bids and that's it.
