- This week, we will be making a salad of sorts: Chicken Buffet in Aspic!
This dish was originally printed in 1962 in American Home magazine and was a perfect dish to impress guests for an evening dinner.
It requires quite a bit of patience, planning and finesse, but is certainly something to admire, when it’s complete.
So sit back, grab a pen and paper and take some notes for this fun recipe that is great for the whole family to help!
And stick around to the end. We were speechless with this dish.

I love the look of despair at the end
Absolutely hilarious....I laughed so hard I had to stop and replay a few times....you guys NAILED IT!!!
Haha, thank you so much
This had me crying laughing at the end!🤣 I don’t know why these were a thing back in the day 🤢
Brilliantly made!
You guys nailed the retro
Thank you so much!
That is one of the most beautifully heinous things I’ve ever seen 🤣 I loved this so so much! 😆 Love audio and video effects, the accent, music, etc. I love trying vintage recipes, but haven’t worked up the courage to attempt an aspic yet 😅 Cheers from a fellow creator, keep up the awesome videos! 🙌
Thanks for watching! It's not the tastiest dish, but it was really enjoyable to make!
I'll be sharing more Retro Recipes as I make them, so stay tuned.
@@RetroRecipesKitchen haha looking forward to it!
That was fantastic!! More! More! Moooorre!!
That was awesomely done and so funny her reaction to eating gelatin with peas 😂
Haha, thank you!
This was fantastic! I do hope you'll make more retro recipes!
Ask and you shall receive! Just shared a new video just now and I also have other videos on my instagram channel @thisfellow
Cute!
Such a fun video to watch, I hope it was fun to make too :)
Thanks so much! It was a lot of fun to make, actually! It just wasn't the tastiest haha, but I want to try again and make it better.
Love this, cant believe that people used to eat this stuff
I came here from the reel and I NEED to know the whole recipe... For knowledge purpose 😂
Hahaha, thanks for watching
I'm laughing so hard at this!!!! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Oh my good. 🤪🤪🤪
What a nice concept you came up with making up such kind of format! Looking forward for more "tempting" recipes from the past decades lmao! On a side note, I want to add a [probably lengthy and surely unnecessary] confession: I've stumbled on your photos for the first time like 12 years ago - yeah... I was a teen back then and had a crush on u lmao - but I've never knew your name since public facebook pages posting "good looking tattoed folks" where indeed quite a trend, but no one bothered to credit you, so... I quickly lost track of you but, believe me, in all those years I've never, ever forgot your heartwarming smile and the good kinda-vintage vibes you spread. I've only found you like, a couple of months ago after all these years? And I was so glad to finally acknowledge your name and "seeing" you again, somewhat. I'm genuinely glad your doing well and as handsome as I remembered! Btw, so sorry for the unnecessary rant - Good luck with this new project, you and your lovely partner both surely are perfectly suited for it! Keep going! 💛🌻
Sorry, I just saw this! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch this and to leave such a nice comment. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that and hope you enjoy the future videos! Stay tuned for more tattooed, fun, quirky videos!
I'm, here from Saf and Tyler's video and I'm absolutely hooked. The look of horror and disgust on yall's face at the end
🥰 Thanks so much for the love. We have lots more on TikTok @retrorecipeskitchen
Loved the imagery of the husband "mansplaining" and micromanaging how to cut an onion. Wow I remember my dad doing that to my mom in the 1970's. Different times.
I really want to know what the point of the egg whites was.
The egg whites act as a net catching impurities creating a “consommé”. This is a classic French technique that allows the aspic to set without being cloudy from the fats and funk of the stock. Great question.
It is missing a miracle whip garnish.
And you thought aspic was something made up for Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.
Hahaha, I had to look up what you were talking about and just watched that Episode. Holy shit, that's intense hahaha
Is that Markiplier?
But was it actually good
Haha Not at all
Brilliant. Everything about this from the odd resolution to the revolting recipe and the sitcom music made me irrationally angry.
Mixing Jello with non sweet things just feels ilegal.
Well prepared by the chef.
But honestly, this dish is pathetic !
disgusting
