Love your attitude regarding not winning. To become a champion everything has to go your way. Unfortunately it didn’t for you, but it did for Tom. I also loved that line you said in day 2’s video “I’m proud of myself, and I’m proud of Tom.”

FWIW in the climbing community shaving/sanding down your calluses is a huge thing to prevent flappers, aka when they catch on holds and the skin pulls off. Wouldn't help in between your thumb and finger but could be something to try for the big calluses beneath your fingers!
So many new subscribers! Another great comp, showing true class in your humble and honest responses to the outcomes. Can't wait to see the next battle between you and Tom.

This year's WSM made me appreciate you more. If we go back in time when you first started getting on the podium that's when you lost the underdog aspect and I feel like things got boring and stale. (Bill Kaz?) I almost rooted against you because you were the most complete strongman and just seeing you win event after event didn't make for exciting competitions. You always knew what to do and everything you said always made sense. Seeing things not going to plan this year made you seem human. Seeing you fight through pain showed your grit much more than walking with dinnie stones. I've been a huge fan of yours since the beginning. You're my reference for how to train, eat, and recover. I really appreciate you showing us what's most important in your "no stones unturned" series. I love that you don't fuck with the BS that other Athletes do. I hope this didn't sound too much like a backhanded compliment. You're annoyingly good and maybe that's just envy talking.
Hey Mitch, idk if you’ll see this, but climbers file and moisturize their calluses so they don’t tear. The problem with the callus is probably that it was too large, not too small
Great to see you push through some tough circumstances and look at everything as an accomplishment. It’s impressive what you’re able to do, even when the cards are stacked against you
Mitch, I run a private medical practice in Louisiana and specialize doing alligator skin grafts with power lifters. I’ve worked with the current world record holders(no names because of NDA’s and client/Dr confidentiality but sounds like Ball or Call and similar to Haul). We guarantee our gator skin grafts to no tear for the lifetime of your lifting career. Our newest add on is a lockable titanium hook implant that can lock your index and middle finger to a deadlift bar so there is no need to use straps. I’m a big fan so I would love to sponsor you and do this all for free…but you’d have to get our logo tattoo’s on your biceps. Looking forward to working with you. Also, due to the controversial legalities in the surgery…the operation will take place in Costa Rico.
Hate I missed the live feed. Like you mentioned, Tom was just better on the day. With the Shaw Classic next, I'm Looking forward to a battle and have no doubt Ill see you on the podium again. *EDIT* Had to say, you're still on top.

Great job Mitchell. What am I missing about the grip issues with that implement? Mitchell showed amazing grip strength carrying the Dinny stones at Arnolds, how is this different?

Well if you want to train grip strength maybe you should collab with Brian Shaw? I tore my hands up working on a farm with a bunch of guys, 41 blisters all burst and blead, when i clenched my fists the blood poured, had to scrub mud out of them with a nail brush in the evening in a basin of salt water, did it stop me from performing next day? ... no I still beat the rest of them next morning and for the rest of the week, plus in the evening had a 2nd job I had to do, minor hand grief is not worth mentioning as a reason for not doing well.
I do think it’s interesting that every competitor who’s asked about it hates the stone off and thinks it should be done away with but WSM hasn’t budged.
Train grip strength, but also make sure your hands are very well moisturised. Healthy skin doesn't rip as quickly. Also look into iron palm training. Come back even stronger!
Your attitude character & sportsmanship means way way more to me more than your strength Mitch LHBK And as you said your character show on your down times and " friends " but also welldone on the 2nd place mate 🤟👍
Great performanse at WSM. Good jo b 💪...just be careful about promoting peptides, there is still so much that we dont know about them, and someone will take them because you speak highely about them. I am endocrinologist so I have good knowledge it that area...
Do you actually want bigger calluses? In climbing we want them a bit, but not too much, so we file them down, smooth out the edges, use moisturiser. Too big and dry and they rip easily.
As nobody has done it yet I would love to state what people said to Brian in 2021 after coming second to Tom: Mitchell is clearly past his prime and should retire. Fun asides: Great performance, very well done. I know how shitty it is to compete with busted hands (in my case during Crossfit competitions) and I am sure Strongman with open palms is not any more fun either. I am happy to see that you and Tom are both on the level you are at, this way we are going to see some really great stuff we would not be able to see otherwise.
I really respect your opinion on your hands. It's a shame, and I'm sure that if you knew it was going to be your weakest link you would have trained it more. Very proud to have you representing Canada in strongman! Congratulations on another podium.
I said this in the last video but I really think you and Tom will go back-and-forth each year at WSM. You will probably win all these other shows over Tom, but at WSM it will be like Brian and big Z. One year you will win next year Tom will. All because of some stupid thing that happens like your skin ripping off your hand. Evan Singleton is someone you need to keep an eye out for though because it looks like he has been getting better and better.
