Ovela, Katrina is currently recovering from an emergency surgery due to acute appendicitis. she felt abdominal paib and didn't realize it was her appendix that burst until the next day. this was just last week, i think. pls pray for her speedy recovery ib time for the concert.

Sohyang has already performed on stage with numerous global musicians, including Josh Groban, David Foster, Brian McKnight, Kirk Franklin, Michael Bolton, Israel Houghton, etc. In particular, the original writer of "You Raise Me Up", Brendan Graham praised Sohyang's version as the best in the world out of about 165,000 arrangements, and even gave Sohyang some songs as a gift. In addition, Sohyang is a singer who has received numerous contract offers from Boyz II Men producer, B.B. King agent, Golden Williams who made Beyoncé successful, Sony Music US headquarters, and the three major Kpop agencies etc. for decades. Although Sohyang is not as globally famous as BTS or Blackpink, she is a singer who has reached the peak as a vocalist in the Kpop market, one of the largest music markets in the world. However, Sohyang is a person who has decided on comforting people rather than succeeding as a singer, so she has turned down many contract offers and has been working alone without belonging to any company since her debut. Since her debut in 1996, Sohyang has been singing songs that are difficult to sing at an incredibly high level every month for decades. She has been singing such songs for a long time at private events, church performances, broadcasts and concerts. As far as I know, Sohyang has held more than 60 concerts since the end of 2021 after COVID-19 until this year. This is actually an incredibly hardcore schedule. Nevertheless, Sohyang maintains her near-perfect vocal abilities until she turns 47 this year. (Sohyang even suffered from severe pneumonia more than 8 times for more than 3 years.) But still Sohyang's vocal style is very powerful and she herself has proven that it is a healthy vocal production. Sohyang's vocals are amazing. I am a big fan of Sohyang. And I am also a big fan of Katarina. Until recently, it was possible to imagine Sohyang singing other singers' songs beautifully, but I thought it was impossible for another singer to sing Sohyang's version of a song beautifully. It is incredibly difficult to sing as beautifully as Sohyang and maintain healthy vocalization. But Katarina beautifully achieved what I thought was impossible. I even know that Sohyang personally told Katarina that she did great. Katarina started by recording her own voice with an old cell phone and letting people know about it. And she has now become one of the most recognized vocalists in the Philippines. Although her beginnings were small, she continues to achieve tremendous accomplishments. I believe she will continue to improve and I have no doubt that she will become the best diva in the Philippines and one of the best in the world as well.
Not all filipino.. i idolize shyounh but not how she didn’t harmonize so well to charice before.. she sounded in a competition.. but over all she is so good..

I agree although we have also to consider which registers are more prominent in each of their performance... i think Kat did a little more difficult than Soh Yang because she's doing her mix voice to be more chesty than heady unlike Soh Yang's heady-mixed

Her technic is also on the safer side if we talk about vocal health. I'm not saying Kat has a bad technic. Her belts are free until A5. It's just being on the chestier side when belting can cause so much strain on a singer if they don't adapt proper technic. Balance-mixed belting also allowed So Hyang to support her belts until C#6 surpassing Katrina who gets inconsistent with support at Bb5 as she only goes on the balance-mixed area at B5-C6. Head-dominant belts are more common among male belters like Dimash and Stell. You can hear how their belts lose weight at D5 while the two female singers maintain their vocal weight at G5 (So Hyang) and Bb5 (Katrina)
