pretty much this. i will admit i did enjoy her take on "golden hour", but stylistically, such songs are ultimately too simple to truly allow kat's voice to shine; i can respect her ability to change things up (for herself) & perform it without changing the arrangement, etc., as that song works best in its simplicity.

She's not overdoing it. She's just putting her own flavor and expressing her own interpretation. Sometimes, when a singer surpasses renditions and technicality of a particular song, we tend to think that s/he is overdoing it - which is not. ❤

That is not overdoing that part is high low high noted those are vocal riffs. Super clean.
Ovela-there's no necessity for Regine to reprise the song and react defensively, as she has already performed it extensively and doesn't need to prove anything. All her renditions surpass the one being emulated. Regine doesn't need to extend the note unnecessarily because she knows how to handle the proper technique of singing a song. Renowned for her breathtaking performances, she is adept at holding a note for an extended duration, yet she also understands when to conclude it gracefully without overdoing the song.

That's a one take. Budgetary concerns of producers will not allow multiple recordings plus it's not the practice in the Filipino session and recording industry. However, before recording, there is always at least one or two rehearsal sessions but that's it, and straight to the studio they go.
