I am grateful for your skill, knowledge and most of all, that you created the videos and shared them. I have always listened. However, now, because of Learn a Bird, it's all coming together. Profoundly so. Thank you.
Lisa - I'm so glad you're getting a lot out of the videos. I'm not sure if you know about my online courses I'm offering now. You can learn more here: www.leadwithnature.com/learn/
We have a bluebird nesting box but no bluebirds near my southern Wisconsin home. But every spring, ol' Jenny Wren moves into the nesting box. I am entertained by her mate's song. Only occasionally do I see them at my bird feeders, but every fall, I clean out their nesting box which is packed with an intricate network of tiny sticks!
I just discovered these videos. OMG this made me so happy! Your calls are wicked awesome (yes, I live in the Boston area with a 10 year detour in CA). The pandemic introduced me to birding. Wish I'd found these videos a year ago!
Saw a Robin on the electrical wire across from the end of my driveway one evening last week doing that high pitched imminent danger call. Not surprising, as our neighborhood Broad-winged hawks have been picking off their babies a lot this year.
Thank you, Dan. Great imitations! I once heard two robins on a wire "talking" very, very quietly to each other. It was incredibly soft and almost inaudible. Have you ever heard them do this?
Tracy...yes, I have. You may be referring to what is known as "subsong" in birds. Its often barely audible to anyone more than a few feet away. Birds use subsong for many purposes (that we know and understand...and probably more).
Thanks Dan!
You're totally welcome, my friends in Vermont.
This series is great! Thank you and keep it coming please!
Thanks, Pierre. That's my plan :)

Finally, the robin in trouble/upset calls. Good to know. Thx, Dan.

Those robins are probably a bit relieved now that the broad-winged hawks are moving south for a while, eh?
