  • @whatskevupto2964
    @whatskevupto2964 2 года назад +239

    When Gordon touched third, Crawford has just picked the ball and is looking right at the runner. Suppose Crawford was 150 ft from home and throws the ball at 90 mph, the ball would get to Posey in about 1.1 second. Gordon, an below average runner with an average sprint speed of only 26.1 ft/s would take at least 3 seconds to get to the plate. Plus, he is already tired after sprinting to all the way to third. There were enough time for Crawford to get set and throw a one hopper to Posey to get Gordon at the plate. In my opinion, its a good hold by the third base coach.

    But I wasn't even mad. I got to see the Royals play in the World Series. Maybe they didn't win it, but I got to watch my favorite team play in the World Series, and a classic one at that. There was a long period of time when I thought that would never happen.

      @@Snuckster2 saddest part is that was the only World Series McCovey played in, though seeing his Giants create their 2010's Empire ought to have gave him some closure before his time came

    You also have to factor in that Perez was the one that homered off Bumgarner in Game 1 so KC put their faith in him knowing that.

    7:47 Gordon was a slow runner who was leaking oil before he even got to third. The third base coach would have been totally roasted and probably fired if he sends Gorgon because he would have been out by at least 30 feet. Rule of thumb is you send the runner only if the outfielder has yet to get to the ball. Before Gordon hit third the infielder already had the ball and only had to throw if probably a little over 100 feet. At least the Royals still had a chance with Perez getting a chance to knock Gordon in but if Gordon gets sent home that's the end of the game and KC has no chance.

    I’m an Angels fan and I love this World Series!
    Edit: Disagree with you on the fact that Gordon should’ve gone home. Crawford had the ball once Gordon barely got to 3rd. He would’ve been toast at the plate with Crawford throwing and Posey tagging and we’d be talking about “why did he send him home???” I’m sure the 3rd base coach didn’t lose sleep over that decision. Plus, Salvy was a big bat so he was a great chance to tie it or even win it all with a homer (even if it was really unlikely)

    7:29 Are you sure about that? The guy that got the relay was Brandon Crawford. You're telling me he would have screwed up that throw with ample time to get it to the plate.

    MadBum walking out was tragic to us Royals fans. We believed, but realistically knew it was over at that moment. Our lineup wasn’t filled with mashers, but this was a lineup built on contact and “keep the line moving” that subsequently WON THE GODDAMN 2015 Series….for MadBum to baffle our lineup and entire coaching staff is so underrated it’s shameful. It’s much easier to look back fondly on this game 7 loss when we got that ring the next season. And I have so many more memories from the 2014 run than I do the 2015 run. Please do a Royals/A’s wildcard breakdown, that game is not talked about nearly enough. If u already have, do 25 more vids on it and then 50 more after that. It’s that epic becuz Lester was MadBumming us before Cutthroat MadBum was a thing.

    As a Royals fan, all of us look back and say what if Alex was sent home.. however, they said that there was a hill on the field that made the cut off look closer than we has and if you look at alex run, it wasn't a full sprint the whole time, and like you said, it lit a fire underneath the whole clubhouse to cruse to be 2015 WS Champs

  • @Crazyjedi2

    The ball was in the cutoffs hand as Gordon was just touching 3rd, he was gunned by a mile if he sent him home. Especially after just sprinting to third he wasn't gonna be at top speed going to home.

    Regarding the ending, people remember the 2015 Royals and how they broke the 30 year World Series drought, but "Let's Remember" how screwed they were in Game 4 of the ALDS against Houston, down 6-2 in the 8th on the road facing elimination and survived it.
