I agree, 3 years between two games is a fair amount of time yet not that long. 1 year is a bit short for an RPG series. There have been games that have taken a decade or still are continuing like the third Kingdom Hearts.

toongrowner1 I don't think hating on resi 7 is fair, it was a really good game and had nothing to do with the cancelation of silent hills. If anything, blame Konami's greed

I'm with you Holly regarding FFXV. I'm at lvl 80+, 170+ hours and just about to re-enter the demon-infested capital city. It took so long because I just liked riding around on a chocobo, doing all the hunts and side quests, hitting all the dungeons, and riding in the car listening to the albums. I've had a great time. I am just about ready to kill the bosses, the adamantoise, and earn the platinum, THEN start the locked doors you can only do after beating the game.
I had done everything in the main game in about 100 hours.
I was over 100 hours before the first DLC episode came out. I had a lot of fun with it. Lol
Screw that platforming dungeon (Pitioss Ruins maybe? I can't recall which one off top of my head) though.

Im not an FF player but Im considering FF 15. It looks gorgeous and Hollie made it appeal to me about the best bro stuffs. Im still deciding which random game for me to buy ryte now so... Shuld I?

I finally tried a Final Fantasy game during lockdown, and XV was my first. I loved it. Platinum'd it, played the DLC episodes. Consumed it so quickly. Also just finished 10 which was great but I'm not sure if turn based is gonna be my thing. 7 remake is next, I'm hooked though
I agree with Holly, 8 is my favourite, 1st one I played and the memories of playing it were all good ones 😃
This happened to me with Okami. When I heard about the game I tried to get it but I didn't find a PS2 copy anywhere. When I finally got the HD version on the PS3 it definitely matched my insane expectations, and it now sits comfortably in my list of favorite games of all time.

I'm really surprised that Rob didn't go with the Metal Gear Solid series. It was a crazy wait and generation hop from MGS1 to MGS2 and then... Raiden. And then you went back in time for Snake Eater (still no Solid Snake) and then to MGS4 for Old Snake. If the games weren't so brilliant I would have been depressed for waiting 10 years or so for that.
for me it was Monster Hunter World, I tought I'd never see a proper HD MH on consoles and it was worth the wait, bought it at launch and I'm still playing it between other games even long after beating it
cyco72 Yes it's a great transition from handheld to current gen consoles. I've just bought it and I've already made like 4 hunters

I played Half Life 2 before I played Half Life 1 , and it really doesn't matter which order you play, they are both just such masterpieces.

It's been revealed ages ago on Access Granted.
For me it's the reignited spyro trilogy. Been patiently waiting for the last 15+ years for it to be remade, (im sure fans of crash felt the same) even though there was any evidence that long ago, it was still talked about in forums.
But now the wait is coming to a close!
FFXV was worth the wait...even though it technically wasn't finished. Well now to keep on waiting for the FFVII remake and KHIII
It felt like Insomniac's spiderman took absolutely forever to come out, it ached so much rewatching the trailer over and over again for soooo long

No offense to Gladio and Prompto, but Ignis just did more for the group and was more entertaining
He cooks, he drives, he fights swiftly with twin daggers, he's the best magic user, and he's the glasses character (which in anime is always the cool, intellectual one that always does that gesture where they push up their glasses with one finger which adds to their charm, weird I know)
Prompto was my guy. That dialogue he has with you when you lodge at old lestallum the first time about being worried about not fitting in - that melted me and I rooted for him from then on. Also enjoyed his dlc immensely.

December 22, 2005 to January 25 2019. Exactly 13 years 1 month and 3 days lmaoo. to put that in perspective, its 157 months plus a few days, and we still never forgot about it
Still a little upset about no Friday feature. But I am glad everything seems well with Rob. I was worried. Haha
NewTable it was bank holiday weekend so they probably had the day/afternoon off.
I love Final Fantasy 8 as my favourite one.
It is one of my favourites. My other ones include X, XII, I, and IV. Also Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time.

MGSV. First they teased us with Ground Zeroes and then the year or so wait until Phantom Pain! Kinda like Avengers Infinity War and the next one next year
They added 1.5 and 2.5 together Rob c'mon u should now this. All on 1 disc KH 1.5+2.5 4 games and 2 cinematics. So KH 1.5 + 2.5 and KH 2.8... ALL games, 2 disc, One platform= PS4.
Games waited ages for: FFXV and KH3!! FFXV came 2016 and kh3 is finally coming THIS YEAR!!

I played God of War 2 on the PS2 back in 2007. I had to wait until 2013 to play God of War 3. I know the game came out in 2010, but I could not afford a PS3 at that time. Six years I had to wait to see what happened after that cliffhanger ending. And out of those six years, the game was playable for 3 whole years, I just didn't have access to it. Meanwhile, I kept hearing all these amazing things about God of War 3... It was excruciating.
Still waiting on that Friday Feature Rob. I expect a double F.F. this coming Friday.
The wait for Mass Effect 2 seemed soooooo long. Agonizing! I gobbled up every tiny itsy bit of information of that game then and when it finally came out, it did not disappoint.

I’m with Hollie and Rob. I waited a very long time for FFXV and when it came out, it was incredible! If there were a Friday Feature for “games I want to play for the first time again” (and maybe there is one already?) FFXV would be one for me.

Skyrim was one I waited what seemed like ages for, one of the few games I got the night it came out and the wonder I felt when I first played it still keeps me coming back for more
I fell in love with the versus XIII tech demo trailer and I wanted to see more of it

I agree with Hollie that Lightning Returns is actually really good, and that's coming from someone who didn't play 13, played 13-2 for a few hours and didn't enjoy it, and thinks Lightning is one of the most boring protags in existence.
It's still a good game despite that. Not nearly the best story of any Final Fantasy game, but the gameplay and systems at play in that game make for a very unique experience that comes together well.
waited so long for the last guardian. Almost cried when i saw it reannounced at E3
Sons Of Liberty was THE wait, no internet to speak of. VHS tapes and demo discs given away with Playstation Magazine that had short teasers on, finally a demo given with Z.O.E that quite often crashed my PS2. That just about kept me going until release day, using “free periods” wisely and putting the most hours Iv ever put into a video game to satisfy the wait.

Now the ones on this list are all out already, but I've got one that beats all of your waiting. Shenmue 3 comes out this year, the last instalment was 2001. 17 years of pain ends soon and I'm going to be ready for it!
You know what's worse than waiting for Kingdom Hearts II? Waiting for Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix to come to Europe. Sadly, by time it came out, my PS3 died in few months and I wasn't able to platinum the games. Also, some honourable mentioned games I waited for are Star Wars Battlefront II Original and Legacy of Kain Defiance. I remember checking the wait time every day at school. I feel your pain, Rob. I was in the same boat trying to download trailers since Internet speed was so slow back then.
Dave, I’m 100% with you when it comes to Half Life 2. It was great to see capture of it in this video. It has aged very well. Half Life 2 is still in my Top 5. It’s difficult to describe the atmosphere and the level of immersion to anybody who hasn’t played it, but, in my opinion, the only game in recent years to come close to capturing a similar feel is Fallout 4.

Eric Nick Dude....that game is possibly the worst game of its release year
Story was up for TGA award. Was very well done in the story and acting dept. Yeah, it was repetitive and buggy, to the point I returned it. But they fixed a lot of problems and I'm glad I got it again with all the DLC for cheap later on.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Even before it first started getting funded, I wanted a realistic medieval game. Been waiting my whole life for that game.

Red Dead Redemption 2. It's been 8 years, God knows how many delays, and a huge amount of hype. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a game to release.
Yakuza 0. The game itself was there but the localization took so long... it finally came and it was awesome.

While not a game, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie. I reserved it about a week after it was announced, then picked up said reservation about 6 years later. It was a lonnnnngggg wait.
My first kingdom hearts was kingdom hearts 2 and it was amazing to experience the confusion Roxas was going through too because I wasn't sure what was going on at first. Then after 2 I bought the first and played that and then playing 2 again was like a whole different story. I loved it
Twisted metal on the PS3. I didn't even think that that series was gonna make a comeback. Now I wait for the sequel to The reboot.

not "and counting". It will be released in 2018. Just the exact month we don't know yet. However, I surmise the release month will be surely November or December.

I'm currently waiting for a Hack and Slash(Or Stylish Action) game for PS4. Currently, there are none, if you don't count remasters(like the recent Devil May Cry HD Collection). This is my favorite genre, and with no currently announced games, the despair is real. I even bought a Wii U last September just to play the single Stylish Action game of the generation: Bayonetta 2. Then they announced Bayo 3 for the Switch, lol, so I bought a Switch last week just for this one game. The last Nintendo console I bought before September 2017 was the N64 on the day of its release. Since that time, I've only gamed on Sony systems. But right now, I'm so starved for content that I've ended up with a Switch, a Wii U and an XB1(that's on top of my PS2, 3 and 4!). There's just not a lot for me to play these days, so I need all of these consoles just for the one or two games that each has which interests me. Underneith my TV is a right mess of wires!
Apparently Devil May Cry 5 is going to be at E3. If so, I might cry tears of joy, haha. I've waited so long for this, so at this point I want it more than anything.

I wonder if they've realized that any time you ask someone who love Final Fantasy what their top 3 games are that there's a pretty consistent pattern. It's almost always the first one you played, the third one you played and then the last one you played. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but it works more often than not

Ah I absolutely love Half-Life. I recently just found my original PC copy of Half-Life complete with the big box. Man I think it's from 1998 and I'm so glad I found it. I remember playing it as a little kid and just being amazed by how great it was.
I waited for years for Oddworld New N’ Tasty. I love the Oddworld games, I loved that they were dark and gritty but still funny and charming at the same time. I played Abe’s Oddysee, Abe’s Exodus, Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath and I was just so desperate for a new instalment or a remaster or just SOMETHING. And then New n’ Tasty was announced and I lost my mind. Now the wait for Soulstorm is even more agonising.

Final Fantasy 15 it was a huge wait and i will never forget the feelings as i played the first minutes the car push the music o man it was epic! :)
Halo 3 will probably always be my most anticipated game of all time simply due to being a teenager and obssessed with the Halo series at that time, and because the hype was at 11 for that game (deservedly so it turned out). Skyrim is a close second though, and probably the most recent game I've really anticipated in a big, big way. Nothing else in more recent years has really lit that fire within me in quite the same way, probably due to being older and jaded and all that. There's still hope though in Elder Scrolls VI.
