Need to sort that west stand out it's a bit of an eye sore now and will hold you back. Enjoyed my visit this year made to feel very welcome and Barnsley is a true footy town
Found this by accident. What a great piece of work. I have a yearly pilgrimage to Oakwell to watch a game as I no longer live there. Sons pay for my ticket and as Leeds and Man U fans they love the homely atmosphere. COYR
Two good descriptions from Jacob and Andy “ only thing that’s a constant…” and “in your DNA”. I can identify with both statements. Jobs come and go, relationships come and go , the decades move on and support for a club is always there, no matter the weather, world events etc
I'm german, so I found out about Barnsley through Fifa actually haha. I had a great career mode with them and since then, this club had a little place in my heart. I actually wanna go to Oakwell one day, see the team play live.
Really enjoyed this! TBH I'm a Forest fan, but I have a massive soft spot for Barnsley FC as it's a 'proper' club, a real part of the local community with great fans. Without fail I always look out for Barnsleys results and I'm buzzing at the season the clubs had and will be rooting for them at Wembley at the play off final.....COYR!!
Great video. Kudos to you mate very well done. So nice to have a video like this (a very well-made one) about the club we all know and love. Good luck to you in your upcoming endeavours dude (presumably in Broadcasting Journalism).
This is a superb documentary, Alex - very well done! I love the contributions from my pals Phil Hall, Chris Ridyard, Jake Dannatt & Danny Finney! (& the others obviously). Thank you for asking me to be a part of it
@@alexfrancis217beautiful documentary, very well put together, amazing insights from lifelong fans. Can really sense the emotion and togetherness of not only the club but our beautiful town. All well summed up in one video. Props to you mate 👍🏻
This is England🏴❤️⚽🏴So proud of this country, heritage and people! Sadly it's all coming to a gloomy/poor end... Culture, education, roots... It's all going down to a sad end.
One slight correction - Barnsley itself (just purely the town of Barnsley) has a population just under 100,000 (about 97,000 per the last census) - It's the wider Barnsley metropolitan borough that has the population of about 255,000.
Sadly going up into the Premier means the antithesis of everything that good ol' Barnsley is, as the Premier is purely about greed if the filthy lucre. Personally I wouldn't go to any Premier fixtures until they get relegated, and I would do that.
Part of my DNA as well. Generational. Travelled from Australia to see them play in the premier league. Coyr
Now that’s dedication 👏🏼

Not the easiest accent to understand but easier than the Geordie accent which is virtually impossible.

I can’t see it happening anytime soon 😂
