Yep. If the other residents don't want higher dues, then they need to come together and make the association allow the camera and fix the ceiling issue. If not, then they deserve the higher dues. This is insane. The condo President has a ring doorbell camera but is writing her up for having one. Then the condo has a safety issue with a leaking pipe and refuses to fix it which could lead to mold and decreases the value of her unit. That condo President should be ashamed with how it is treating its residents and glad this story made the local news.

In my last building, which had 14 units, the two owners who had been there the longest did indeed have a stranglehold. They did not have any qualifications. One of them had a vendetta against me from the very start, because the garage cabinets above my parking space had padlocks on them. I submitted an inquiry as to who was using the cabinets that were for my use. I received no response, but one day I saw her angrily removing her things from my cabinets.
Her neighbor across the hall should apply for one, if it’s granted, take Evelyn’s down, install it across the hall pointing at her unit, and keep suing!
These cameras provides a level of safety, shame on the board, sue them for harrassment and every crime on your floor charge them 200 a day for mental harrassment and distress
Selective Enforcement and Retaliation are Fair Housing violations and she can get a free Protection & Advocacy attorney to file HUD complaints if she is in a "protected class" (national origin, age, disabled, family, sexual orientation, etc).

That's literally what she's doing by suing the condo board. You're thinking of an apartment complex. With condos the actual building is owned collectively by all of the condo owners and the board is the organization responsible for maintaining the common parts of the building, including its structure.

Easy fix. Contact the owners of the building. Tell them that you will charge them $500 a day for each day (or portion thereof) the leak is not repaired. Applied retroactively to the day it was reported. They'll okay that camera with a quickness AND repair the leak if you 'settle' for $1000.
