Yeah, I feel like the fact that there's no organic pokémon that to date have physical, rotating wheels is an intentional choice. Some rotating parts? Sure. But wheels seem to be crossing a line. Those seem to be reserved for pokémon like Rolycoly and Carkol who are made of coal, Rotom Mow who is a lawnmower and of coarse Miraidon who is a robot. All very obvious things and materials that can have wheels with no further complications.
@@YVH636 yes, it does Koraidon is a living creature, not a machine. It wouldn't make any sense to have half of a spiky wheel enter your chest and come out of it without anything extreme happening to it
@@orizin8102 as if “living machines” are any more sensible. If you can suspend your disbelief for all the other absurdities in this series, I fail to see how this is such a leap.
For the longest time, I thought Rotom was a legendary. It wasn't until 2019 where I found out that's not the case. It's just a very rare Pokemon. But could you blame me for thinking Rotom was legendary? In the original Sinnoh games, it could a obtained in a specific place and the legendary Pokemon battle music would play.
@@iamnotinvolved1309 Mythical pokemon are types of legendary pokemon that you can only get (legitimately) through events at the time they're first introduced. So Mew, Celebi, Darkrai and even Arceus would be considered mythical pokemon. Rotom wouldn't qualify since you can find it pretty easily in the games as long as you know where to go.
I remember debating this with a group I was in a tournament with shortly after gen 6 came out. That battle music was something that tripped up a lot of people. We eventually decided that since Rotom can breed, it doesn't count as a legendary.
I really don't think that Koraidon is just gonna become Miraidon. I feel that Miraidon is the human recreation of Koraidon, which would be why it has wheels and jets, as those are human inventions. I personally think that in Violet, Koraidon went extinct due to human behavior, and the humans needed to make a replacement to take its place so that the ecosystem doesn't collapse, or whatever importance Koraidon, being a legendary pokemon, had to the balance of the world wasn't lost.
If without Koraidon the ecosystem will collapse and all that, how does a ten year old kid catch Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini and the islands don’t collapse, because FYI they protect the island and stop it from collapsing.
I’m sure it’s gonna be more based off of the fact that regardless koraidon went extinct in both games. In scarlet you revive the original Koriadon, and in violet you revive him with extra tech.
Cyclizar is the present day version of Koraidon (past) and Miraidon (future). Plus korai means ancient and mirai means future. That and I am willing to bet money that this game is going to have time-based version exclusive regional forms. This will be how they can bring back the Hisuian forms to the present day. So I would expect other future forms of Pokemon.
I still find it a stretch to call Pichu a "Pikachu clone" given it's related to the yellow rat and that it's Pikachu's pre-evolution, the rest however (Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, Dedenne, Togedemaru, Morpeko and Pawmi) i do count as Pikachu clones
Here's another thing (about the anime in this case) that I see almost everyone get wrong all the time. It's the reason why Brock was temporarily replaced by Tracy. Most people think it was because the anime's creators were afraid international viewers would see Brock as a racist stereotype because of his design. But according to the blog of the series director at the time, Takeshi Shudo, the truth is... pretty much the opposite. Around the time the franchise was preparing for its American debut, some of the higher-ups became concerned that a show with a character that looks like Brock (a design closer to how Americans tend to draw Asian characters) as a main character wouldn't do well in the U.S. It's a concern that sort of makes sense if you know anything about the state of Asian representation in American media at the time. However, their decision was... apparently to have viewers just absolutely hate a character that appears in every episode for a year and a half? Yeah, valid concerns or not, their solution was pretty ridiculous, and thankfully Americans loved Brock and didn't want to see him go, so he was eventually brought back and stuck around for over a decade. Regardless of your opinion on the situation, the unfortunate truth is that Tracy replaced Brock in an attempt to appeal to white people, not to prevent people getting offended from a racist stereotype (which Brock obviously isn't).
Even though the gen 7 box art legendaries aren't coded as ultra beasts, they are still from ultra space. They just probably couldn't program them to be ultra beasts and legendary at the same time.
Thank you. And also, Solgaleo and Lunala were already known to the region, so a codename nor keeping them secretive to the Aether Foundation would've been necessary.
@@MunchVGC In the anime, Necrozma has codename UB Black so your theory may be correct. Though what makes Beast Ball not work on Necrozma is intresting lorewise.
It took me many years to realize that Magnezone’s middle eye was actually an eye. I think it’s because the white color of its eye is very similar to the silver color of its body, and that’s why the red eye looks like a red nose to me. I still can’t unsee it.
I actually ended up finding out about the eyes on the sides this year on the other side of this coin, and now I can’t unsee what I guess I thought were shoulder pads! It looks so derpy 😭
I feel like with koraidon, since it’s to represent the past, it rather runs to show how transportation was in ancient times. And miraidon being a bike is to show how transportation works in the present/future
I like how the first fact was about how to pronounce zacian’s name and immediately afterwards in the next fact about it Alex mispronounced Zacian’s name lol
I think that Koraidon's wheels should probably be smaller if they aren't functional as wheels. Maybe it get some sort of power-up during the game where they DO become functional? I don't know. Otherwise they're a little distractingly big on the design.
I can agree with that but I can see why they chose to make the “wheels” distracting due to it supposed to look like a motorcycle hence the pun on its name.
Normal Pokéballs don't work on Ultra Beasts because they're heavily infused with the wormhole energy/Necrozma's light. Necrozma is drained of its energy when you meet it, having been in this world for a long time in SM. Nebby was similarly here for at least a few years and had been experimented on to drain and use up its energy. However both Pokémon originate from Ultra Space which is how Ultra Beasts are classified
@@bulborb8756...............Except that doesn't really make sense. Just because Mimikyu is mimicking Pikachu doesn't make it a mimic in the way that the rpg enemies are, as they are used as enemies that are disguised as objects, most commonly treasure chests and doors and the like

I'm glad someone finally brought up the age thing. I thought it was pretty clear by the designs that the protagonists were progressively getting older for a while. The Unova protagonists look like they're around 17 or 18 to me. But for some reason everyone I see just assumes they're all 10
Another way that Koraidon's curled up tail and inflated dewlap makes sense is that it further highlights and accentuates its relationship with Miraidon. What people perceive as an inefficient and ineffective mode of travel was overtime modified and streamlined into something far more convenient, Koraidon is the beginning of that process. It is, quite literally from a biological perspective, stuck in the past. Oh yeah and it's also an organic creature. Flesh and wheels do not mix.
There has been a lot of talk about why animals cannot develop wheels, however there's actually a way for an animal to get wheels. First you get an animal, this animal has modified hooves that lost all keratin (it must be a small animal, otherwise it would hurt to live, a lot) then, through selective adaptation, this species got an evolutionary niche in which a part of the feet's bone slowly degrades after reaching adulthood, it then falls apart leaving exactly an independent piece of bone separated from the rest of the leg, wheel-shaped, with a bony axle going through it, the axle being part of the leg. Now forget anything I said about a "niche", this is stupid, but biologically plausible. (Also the animal would look like a shopping cart)
Yeah, people just ignore what Koraidon’s “wheels“ actually are. The front wheel is an air sac or something similar, while the back wheel is its curled up tail. The wheels don’t move because they aren’t wheels, they just look like wheels
I’m pretty sure the main problem people have with Koraidon’s neck flap and tire tail isn’t that they’re there so much as the fact he has them out while running and flying when there is no need for it
So... Necrozma TECHNICALLY has an ultra beast code name, ub-black. This code name is, however, only said in the anime which might disqualify it from being an ultra beast HOWEVER, it is stated that Necrozma came from another world and brought Solgaleo and Lunala with it. This other word is ultra space, and by definition, an ultra beast is just a Pokémon from ultra space, thus meaning that the light trio ARE ultra beasts.
Although Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are not Ultra Beasts, they have a strong connection to Ultra Space (including the ability to create Ultra Wormholes) and as a result are often claimed to be or likened to the Ultra Beasts in various media The game tells you it's not an ultra beast
@@AP4pro I may have realized that when I read the dex entry and was to lazy to change that. And I have never actually played through either sun or ultra sun or moon or ultra moon, my knowledge was COMPLETELY from the anime.

The funny thing about Rotoms apparant legendary status is that even the games got it wrong. @@BJGvideos randomizers usually use code from the game though, so that means the games mark rotom as a legendary, which is also why it has the legendary batt;e music in gen 4

I mean, I would say that the Cosmog line and Necrozma have their *origins* in Ultra Space, but they are indeed not Ultra Beasts. Or at least not anymore. Their cries do have the same echoey ending as the Ultra Beasts though so there *is* something there.
Yes, they were once Ultra Beasts but since they've lived in this world for a long time, their Ultra Beast DNA has fused with Earth's DNA, creating a being that's halfway between a normal Pokémon and an Ultra Beast. So it's technically not wrong to say that they're Ultra Beasts like how it's not technically wrong to say they're just Legendary Pokémon.
Cosmog line and Necrozma are probably not effected by Beast Balls is most likely is that they appear regularly for Poke Balls to recognize and they don't need codenames since people actually know what they are. Ultra Beasts however aren't common. Also they're cries has the same ringing as the UBs and they're stats and movepools are heavily focused on Prime Numbers. They're definitely UBs.

The modern Pokémon seems to be Cyclizar with its rolling wheels. In the past it was Kuraidon with its unevolved wheels and in the future it's Miraidon with its high tech hover ability
The Ultra Beast fact is simply incorrect. The Beast Balls are more so a game mechanic, but lore-wise those 5 are Ultra Beasts. They come from Ultra Wormholes from far off in Ultra Space, and if you want in game evidence, they share the Ultra Beast sound in their cries. While gameplay makes them act as normal Pokémon due to being Boxart legendaries, they are canonically Ultra Beasts
The Cosmog family and Necrozma are Ultra Beasts. Ultra Beasts are creatures that appeared from another world through an Ultra Wormhole, which Necrozma has done several times throughout official canon. Same for Nebby. Games, anime, manga, you name it. But barring all of that, Necrozma has been referred to as an Ultra Beast in official canon. If you don't believe me, look up Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX from the Ultra Prism set. Base Necrozma isn't labeled as Ultra Beast, so it is implied that either Lunala/Solgaleo are Ultra Beasts and Necrozma takes on the properties once it absorbs them, or that they are the same creature and fully become an Ultra Beast once fused. Considering Necrozma needs "the light" to obtain it's full form, I'd say the latter. Either way, they clearly have enough properties of an Ultra Beast to be classified as such. The strongest Pokemon ever created is X ゥ- xゥ, which would have a BST of 827 when converted to modern games with no stat with a total less than 128... Okay, so technically not a real Pokemon since it's a glitch. Either way, Zacian is no where near the strongest Pokemon ever, nether in terms of stats or physical nature. As for competitiveness, yeah, it's likely the strongest Pokemon ever created.
I'd say according to lore, the Cosmog line and Necrozma are UBs Necrozma literally has a whole ass utopia centered around it in the Ultra Space and (ik im kinda stretching things here but) the entire Cosmog line, as well as Necrozma, have the special cry sound effect, that all the other UBs have
@@EightViolett Exactly. They were once Ultra Beasts that came from Ultra Space but now, living in this world for centuries, they've changed a lot and have become normal Pokémon with Ultra Beast like powers.
You can understand why ppl call mimikyu a pikachu clone, it literally tries to be a pikachu after all, not try a object for the sake of objecting,I’m only justifying.
The cosmog line and necrozma are in fact ultra beasts, the dex says they come from another world, the game says it as well. Just because they don't get beast ball boosts doesn't mean they're not ultra beasts.
The Mimikyu that belongs to Jessie HATES Pikachu and actively attacks any Pikachu it sees. Of course Acerola’s Mimikyu gets along with Pikachu, so this is only the case with Jessie’s Mimikyu specifically.
I still think that the Cosmog Family and Necrozma are Ultra Beasts. Yes, the Beast Balls don't work on them but the reason it doesn't is a pretty simple one. Because these Pokémon have gotten used to this world, they've slowly lost parts that made them Ultra Beasts but not all of it. The Beast Balls work because it's foreign DNA entering this world. But if they've this world's DNA as well, then it's not gonna work as well. Also, all of them came from Ultra Space at one point anyways. So lore wise and everything else wise, I agree with everything except this one.
5:39 Disagree because all Ultrabeasts have a distinct chime sound at the end of their cry - and so does the Cosmog line and Necrozma. The reason why Beastballs don't work on them is because the Aether foundation didn't do research on them unlike the other Ultrabeasts hence they weren't assigned UB designations either and weren't taken into account when creating the capture mechanism.
i always pronounced 'elio' as 'helios' without the h and s because i assumed that's what the name was based off of, like how selene's name is based of helios' counterpart named... selene... the ancient greek moon goddess
That's what the name is based on! The fact that it's written or pronounced differently doesn't change the inspiration, just as Aegislash being clearly "aegis".
first of all, thinking nobody ever complained about why remoraid turned into octillery without hearing gamefreaks explanation is ignorant. i know these people. i am one of them and yes, barring a GOOD explanation, koraidon looks stupid running with a wheel on its chest. you can tell they have a concept in mind because they did the tail correctly. it can curl up to look like a wheel but it isnt one, YET! thats the point of being the past form. no wheels yet. if they had made the front wheel look more like a dewlap hanging from the chin, i would love it. but its literally a wheel on the chest. it goes against the concept
I still think Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are Ultra Beasts because (I think) we saw one of the box legendaries come out of a wormhole, you can literally ride them into Ultra Space, Necrozma came out of a wormhole to fuse with Solgaleo/Lunala (I think) , and at the end of their cries they have that little noise the other Ultra Beasts have at the end of their cries. The Beast Ball thing doesn't disprove them as UB's imo because I don't think you can get Beast Balls before the fight against them, meaning that it doesn't matter if the catch rate doesn't increase for them, but that's just me.
yea but the tcg kinda confirms these ones are not ultra beasts Ultra beasts are only(buzzwole, pheramosa, stakataka, kartana, guzzlord, blacephalon, xurketree, celestila, all of the necrozma forms excluding the base form and the poipole line). In regards to Aegislash, the pronunciation that sounds better probably depends on your expectations. I had already know for years that the “ae” in “aegis” is supposed to be pronounced like an E, so that way sounds more natural to me. If I hadn’t known that, I might have pronounced it as A, and that would have sounded better. And for what it’s worth, it’s the same deal with Aether. It’s supposed to be an E sound, since the beginning vowel comes from the same source as Aegis.
Not always. For example, in aesthetic, which does have an e sound but slightly different. (no I definitely did not have to check merriam webster) In fact, according to Merriam Webster, "aegis" can be pronounced both as a long "a" or "e", though other sources say otherwise
@@byeguyssry Yeah English is a jacked up, drunk-as-hell language that does whatever it wants. What seems like at least half of our words aren’t even English, though that’s probably an exaggeration. Someone could claim they pronounce Aegis as “aye Gus” and I wouldn’t even doubt it.

you can also argue that the cosmog line and necrozma are ultra beast based on the sound at the end of their cry. each of the ultra beast has a cry with what I can describe as "space sound" at the end of them. both the cosmog line and necrozma share this trait.
just based on lore the Cosmog evolution line ARE Ultra Beasts. they are originally not from this world and came to us through Ultra Wormholes, which they can also open and travel through. I think it rather was a gameplay mechanic decision to not make them catchable with Beast Balls. first and foremost, it never was set that a Legendary HAS to be caught be with a certain type of ball before and it never has been since. sure, the Master Ball is supposed to be used for this kind of situation, but even that is optional. the other reason, and that also seems obvious, is that there is only a certain number of Beast Balls you can get in the game. if you're off to catch a Legendary, you know it can take you up to 100 Balls or even more to get that son of gun. if my calculations are correct, then you're able to get 50 Beast Balls over the entirety of Sun/Moon - and all of them AFTER the main story, when the Legendaries have already been caught. so in order to make Solgaleo/Lunala catchable with Beast Balls, they would've had to think of an entirely different system of when and how to get these, so it was probably easier to say: "they're the box Legendaries; let's just treat them as the box Legendaries and catch them with whatever ball you've got in your bag."

If Koraidon's wheels were able to rotate, he would probably die of blood loss
Yeah, I feel like the fact that there's no organic pokémon that to date have physical, rotating wheels is an intentional choice. Some rotating parts? Sure. But wheels seem to be crossing a line. Those seem to be reserved for pokémon like Rolycoly and Carkol who are made of coal, Rotom Mow who is a lawnmower and of coarse Miraidon who is a robot. All very obvious things and materials that can have wheels with no further complications.
Because fire breathing lizards, electric mice, and turtles that can spew near infinite amounts of water make so much more sense.
@@YVH636 yes, it does
Koraidon is a living creature, not a machine.
It did have the legendary music theme and is placed right next to the legendaries in the National dex, which is reasonable.
Are there any similar "very rare" pokemon that are static encounters with the Legendary Battle music?
Surprising. I thought it would at least be a mythical.
Yes because nature will die without a motorcycle that doesn't use its wheels /j
(Also before people @ me, I'm still getting Scarlet)
Interestingly enough, 'mirai' means future in Japanese

That may not have been what Shudo said but that's what some other people who work on the show said.
Even though the gen 7 box art legendaries aren't coded as ultra beasts, they are still from ultra space. They just probably couldn't program them to be ultra beasts and legendary at the same time.

People fail to see this for that reason and it does confuse me. As it’s obvious it represents the ancient times.
Although Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are not Ultra Beasts, they have a strong connection to Ultra Space (including the ability to create Ultra Wormholes) and as a result are often claimed to be or likened to the Ultra Beasts in various media

The Ultra Beast fact is simply incorrect. The Beast Balls are more so a game mechanic, but lore-wise those 5 are Ultra Beasts.
5:41 they are talking about the competitive standpoint, no one has ever say Zacian is the strongest in lore Pokémon
5:39 Disagree because all Ultrabeasts have a distinct chime sound at the end of their cry - and so does the Cosmog line and Necrozma. In TCG SM series, Necrozma was labelled as a Ultra Beast
(no I definitely did not have to check merriam webster)
In fact, according to Merriam Webster, "aegis" can be pronounced both as a long "a" or "e", though other sources say otherwise
@@earthbit. Ye, we copy other languages' words and pay respects by not changing it at all.
On the bright side, we now have spelling bees. And the strange words can be aesthetically interesting, speaking from a poet's point of view
You see it in words like archaeology, paediatrician, encyclopaedia, and palaeontology but not in American English because they replace the ae witn an e. Other words like Europaean and Aegyptian used to be spelt this way too.
For me "ee-jil-slash" out of preference.
I found drawings i made on pikachu from when i was a kid. All the pikachues has a black tip on their tail.
1:30 why does Pichu count as a pika clone when Pichu is basiclly pikachu but devolved
I called the male lets go protagonist Elaine>
couple of things i believed about pokemon when i was younger
Trevenant was Grass/Dark type
Chimecho was Steel type
Skarmory was a gen 3 pokemon
Nnnoooo! You're telling me that's a third eye?! Seriously?! Why have I never figured this out before???
1:21 i don't count pichu as a pikachu clone either, it's literally pikachu just as a baby.
Actually, smergle CAN learn struggle… by struggling.
It counts, the Pokémon is performing the move.
Can we talk about how he starts by talking about how to correctly pronounce Zacian and then repeatedly mispronounces Zacian at 6:00?
*sigh of stress* everyone screws up all the time!
I pounce Zacian as "zaw-she-an" before I pounced it "zac-e-an"
I think the whole past and future thing is going to be some sort of phenomenon happening in the region, and koraidon and miraidon are the past and future version of cyclizar. This is probably why the legendary has an attachment to you, because its the cyclizar from your household.
I tried looking for this Channel for an hour again after not watching videos for some time and now I no longer see TheAuraGuardian in my reccomended. That's sad given how great of a RUclips channel this is. Keep up the good work bro!
3:59 interestingly enough, in PLA only two of three of Alpha's Gastrodon eyes shine red, it seems that maybe it's a mistake they made or maybe thing in the middle isn't an eye??
It's not
The Bulbapedia isn't a 100% reliable source for things like that, and those third eyes are a completely different shape and color to the other two
I don't really know how anyone _could_ see those as eyes
@@ARandomMinecraftVillager oh, so bulbapedia is CNN now-
Omg,my fav poke-tuber posted! Yay:))
I cannot imagine the mayhem that Teleport Mew could cause in OU
Why is Teleport so good? Isnt it basically the same as just switching out?
@@kirbyfazendoummoonwalk9214 teleport has negative priority, so the Pokémon that uses it can take a hit and then switch out, allowing you to bring in a frail offensive Pokémon safely.
It's especially nasty on Slowbro because of Regenerator, but Mew could also make good use of it with its amazing bulk.
@@skotiaH2O oh, i didnt know that, Thanks for the info
When did Teleport gain an in-battle use?
@@velvetbutterfly relatively recently, in Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee
It's a really nice move, one of my favorites competitively, and i'm glad it made Slowbro good since i love it as a Pokémon
People think that pikachu has a black tipped tail is because of cosplay pikachu.
that's not true, people thought about this years before cosplay pikachu even existed
Please, no, I want to go back to seeing Gastrodon only having 2 eyes
Ikr i thought it was just a Black Spot or Something
you can also argue that the cosmog line and necrozma are ultra beast based on the sound at the end of their cry.
each of the ultra beast has a cry with what I can describe as "space sound" at the end of them. both the cosmog line and necrozma share this trait.
just based on lore the Cosmog evolution line ARE Ultra Beasts. they are originally not from this world and came to us through Ultra Wormholes, which they can also open and travel through.
As for the Cosmog line and necrozma being ultra beasts, they are, just ONLY when they fuse. It says so on TCG cards.
Keep it up Alex!
4:18 doduo is also a good example of this. Most people don't know its normal / flying type
If mimikyu isn't a Pikachu clone, then Pichu isn't either since Pichu evolves into Pikachu. Even if you disagree with me, I still sorta consider mimikyu a piklone to an extent. Also, necrozma has a ub code name:UB-BLACK
