    QUESTION : What's your favourite photography subject when not doing landscapes?

    • @JillBatchelor
      @JillBatchelor 25 дней назад +1

      Macro subjects is a real favourite of mine especially butterflies :) I have a flash and diffuser too but not really got to grips with how it works. Think I would really enjoy doing some light painting too :)

      I think as photographers we are very fortunate as there is just so many subjects we could photograph Recently auroras and the comet have been subjects ti have a go at too I’m open to try anything given the chance.

      When not doing landscape, defo close up macro and especially in the woods (no macrolens yet) and architecture is also great, when not doing landscape. When the light is harsh, im ging for back and white. Great pictures Guido.

    The correct answer is, wildlife _is_ my favourite subject! 😄 Though it's not always practical all of the time, so I dabble in other subjects too. Landscape is up there.
    Fantastic job photographing that snipe, though to be honest I'm taken with that second photo of two herons in flight. Also, envious of the dragonfly photo. I tried photographing some at a spot where I hoped to see a resident kingfisher - they zip past way too fast!

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Месяц назад +1

      The herron image was really far away and unfortunately lost a little detail in the upper herron because of that. So that's why I turned it into black and white. So it gets less noticeable. But I love the movement in it. Just seconds before, they were really fighting mid-air, but they didn't do it again, unfortunately. The dragonfly was a crazy shot. Spend 1.5 hours trying to get it. Eventually, you notice a pattern they come back to the same spits often, so that's what I anticipated for. Thanks for watching and you comment. Grt guido

    Although I’m personally not a fan of these type of bird Hyde’s, I can see the merit for birds like the snipe. lovely photos of that one!

      I liked this much better than the one from 2 months ago. It felt much more natural, and there was no feeding. Only the bird sounds were not my choice. But still, I prefer to photograph them out in the field. Thanks for watching and commenting. Grt guido

    We actually spent a day in photography hides yesterday and I found it rather relaxing I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed it as it had been a long time since we had the opportunity to do so Enjoyed you video as ever :)

      It is relaxing indeed but I think walking around in the landscape relaxes me more. Somehow that is a sort of therapy. Hopefully you've taken some great images in the hide! Thanks for watching and your comment! Grt guido

      @@GuidoVanDeWater We are walkers who regularly visit some beautiful areas so I get completely getting out in nature and enjoying beautiful places Having two dogs helps us get out every day too :) We visited a wetland trust reserve called Martin Mere where they have up to 13,000 Pink Foot Geese come into roost at sunset which we stayed for I only have the 40-150 plus 1.4 converter so don’t have the long lenses to get that close to the birds but I’ve few photos that aren’t too bad But I really enjoyed the day A real challenge for the cameras ability to take photos in difficult light!

    Hello Guido
    Realy very nice images you have made, but definitly not my business sitting many hours in such a hide. May favorite photography beside landscape is nature details and portrait.

      In this case it was really hard because there was almost no activity. It was nice to do 2 of these hides again (didn't do it for for years) but I immediately knew why I didn't do them. I didn't feel creative and you can't make use of the light. It was just difficult. Like you I much rather walk around in the landscape these days 🙂 thanks for watching grt guido

    We call that last bird a hawk not a buzzard. Either name they are a beautiful bird

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Месяц назад

      I don't know for sure. But a hawk is a different species than this one if I translate it to Dutch. But it's always difficult to get the right bird names in English 😅 but like you mentioned, it's about the picture 😀 thanks for watching grt guido

    Hoi Guido
    Wat een mooie foto’s, en dan met name de 2e helft. In de 1e helft zaten foto’s met wat opgeblazen kleuren. Zoals gezegd de 2e helft is echt super mooi. Jammer, dat de je vlucht van de buizerd miste. Ik vond jou foto’s zeer beslist niet onder doen voor die van je foto maatje. Eerder in tegendeel. Ik heb ook goed gekeken naar de. Kleur nuances/overgangen in de donkere partijen van de vogelveren, en die waren naar mijn beleving gewoon keurig netjes, maar ik ben een turbo leek en digi kluns 😂😂😂. Hoe dan ook complimenten voor deze leuke en ook mooie video. 👏👏👏

      @theflyingdutchman7127 ik heb een hoop wensen maar die staat er niet tussen. Nee ik ben er inmiddels wel achter dat je veel beter kunt investeren in tijd of een reis dan in nieuwe aparatuur. Het eerste levert veel mooiere foto's op dan continu maar duurdere cameras kopen. De verschillen zijn alelmaal uiterst minimaal als je het mij vraagt.

    It`s a shame, the buzzard ( in flight) would have been the best motif. Annoying! P.S.: Is the photo of the dragonfly heavily cropped? If not my utmost respect.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  Месяц назад

      Oh, that was so annoying... I just ousted the menu button to activate pro capture, and it was gone... but in the end, I kind of like my images that's the most important. And no, the dragon fly wasn't cropped much, maybe 20 per cent, to get it a little out of the centre. It was a challenge, but I had about 1.5 hours of only these dragonflies in front of me, so I had some practice shots... thanks for watching grt guido
