Numerous specimen of the Strandbeest evolution on music of Khachaturian's Spartacus. It open the archives of fossils. Theo Jansen's work since 1990. He tries to make new forms of live on beaches. His animals get their energy from the wind so they don't have to eat. In the future he wants to put out in herds.
This looks medieval, futuristic, robotic, and organic all at the same time.
Yea that's what robots would look like if humans hadn't discovered electricity.

I love art so much. Im pretty sure everyone has wonderfull idea's. But to actually work them out into something like artists do is something I have always had great trouble with. I have nothing but respect and admiration for that.

There’s something so animalistic, otherworldly, and yet mechanical about these things, and yet they just serenely walk across the landscape as if they belong there.
When I see mechanical creatures that seem alive, I am reminded of the Genesis passage about the first man who was created by a breath of life of God. The sea wind is doing the same function, breathing life into the inorganic structure.

There’s no wind on the moon
I think they would be excellent for Venusian surface probes and walkers, since normal electronics cannot withstand such temperatures and corrosive conditions, thus it's best for the probes to be as much mechanical as it is only possible (all electronics hidden and well protected from outside conditions). Venus has constant winds on its surface. I think it's definitely doable with right materials.
