After many thoughts and time talking to technicians on the field here where i live at, i decided not to take the job offer. All 3 told me that not enough sales will lead to be fired and a few techs before me were " promoted" to customer because of that. What's up man I hope all is safe and well for you. I was offered a position with Dish as a Field Home Technician. I have no experience whatsoever and not really great at selling to customers. All I done in the past is recommend products but it is ultimately the customers decision on weather to buy or not. I was never the type to force myself on customers or hover over them. So my question for you is how is the job the training? Is it easy to pick up for an entry level person like myself? I like how you said to take it day by day. That is good advice professionally and personally. I see reviews of people saying management is this and that, and it can be overwhelming. Kinda at a standstill when it comes to starting now. I appreciate you making this honest video too. Keep it up and be safe.

Work for Dish Network for 10 months. Have somebody on the call center which was a friend who would tell me that they had to give the equipment to the customer and credit their account. Very high turnaround of employees. Technicians are supposed to specialize in what they do installing troubleshoot not be a salesman for the company to survive. If you are competitive and want to have fun while learning new things everyday dish is great for that very reason. The sales will come , they are things that enhances our customers experience . Hey if you watching recently and asking yourself dumb questions like do they drug test or what they pay? It's a good job so of course they test and start you out pretty decent. But, it's a very challenging job. Go ahead and apply. Your interviewer will give you the downlow. If he senses anything you seem nervous about tho he will not hire you. They spend thousands training you and are very picky. I had a cool interviewer and I wasn't scared to do anything. Including climb 40 foot ladders. (Which is very rare. If ever) but I actually did it the other day installing a dish on a very tall 2 story house's roof. Had to do it on roof due to line of sight tho. I was shaking climbing up and down but i did it. Including having a heavy tool belt on, carrying the assembled dish, wires, and Stat buddy all at once as well. If you think you could handle that if you had to, and have basic troubleshooting skills, and want the job bad, then do it. Otherwise don't waste their time or yours.

I wish dish would take peoples advice and stop using these
    sub contracted companies.
They are runing the dish brand by using these companies.
The whole process for install and tech resolution is problematic to say the least ,
and these sub contractors dish uses many times aren't even honest and up front
    with the customer.
There only making your job harder , because the customer doesn't
understand that not every installer or tech is actually from dish .
so when things go very wrong , they blame the dish employee techs ,
when usually it was a sub contractor employee doing the work.

They are a deceptive company. They dont pay you for drive time. So if yoir first job is 2 & a half hours away, you will spend 5 hours driving and earn nothing. If your customer isnt home, no pay for you. Seek employment elsewhere!

@@SonSon0710 that's exactly right. Went to bed early the night before. Got up early. Spent 5 hours driving for nothing. They will say, that's just the nature of the business. Sorry, but if I leave home I need to get paid. Not hear
      corporate excuses.

@@Chriscovelli1 right, it sounds like a good position but I’m hearing not getting 40 hours a week, gotta push sales etc. I want to get back into the technology field any way possible and they gave me interview, but after the reviews I’m little hesitant

@@SonSon0710 my friend, we REALLY need to communicate with each other to stop this madness. So here's complete honesty......you can make good money doing this kind of work. Given the economy, it's an opportunity to earn. But that's the catch......you only start earning, once you arrive at your appointment, AND the customer is actually home. The have a very convoluted pay system. Instead of a simplistic hourly pay scale, they show you in training how it works. And boy it's complicated. You get paid this for that. That for this, making it all Confusing. And that is very INTENTIONAL. You can't beat an actual hourly pay rate because of its simplicity. When you hear all of this contrived BS involving pay, turn around and leave.
