I really don't understand how this channel has 45k it is worth at least a million! Thank you for the content you put out there! Truly an amazing channel!
Hi Mike. A good friend of mine here in the UK is a wildlife photographer and enthusiast. He has been watching a Badger family who have dug their sett at an old probably Victorian bottle dump. They are doing the digging for him and he comes away with some good finds they present him with!
Welcome back bro! Another excellent video. Anything you find that you don't know what it is qualifies as a watchamacolic or a thingamajig. Keep them coming man. Always live watching your videos
The object at circa 8:50 looks like it could be a hand-crank tool for setting certain fuze-settings for artillery-shells... [Like distance/altitude/timing for burst] Although the other suggestions of 55-gallon fuel can-opener or a hand-plunger/detonator may also be correct...
The coins are very cool man...my dad used to sail over seas and come back with all sorts of differant coins and paper money from other countries and so that part of your video brought back alot of memories....thank you brother!
Hi Mike, the first find is a "Ziehfeder" in german language for architects, engineers, calligraphic artists and even to draw lines with ink on a map. It is rarely used in modern times. I used it during several university courses decades ago.. It is definitely not a scalpel - a scalpel with a fine screw is not very clever according to antibiotic standards. There is one metal part missing, the one that defines the thickness of the line. I started detecting with my son a year ago, would love to learn from you about good areas, recherche and detailed maps. Keep on doing your very good work!
I believe the 1st find is a fountain pen used in mechanical engineering (or any engineering in need of drawings). It's like on half of the tip is missing but a tiny threaded shaft is still there. That was the adjustment screw of the pen in order to draw different thickness of lines... I have my dad old kit and that's what came to my mind. Good luck !
looks like scalpel but i believe is an ink fine line drawing pen but missing second ' blade ' , my father was old school draftsman and i have his old drawing instruments ,that is same as his.
I saw something similar about a group of people that search around the outskirts of Stalingrad. What these people were doing was recovering remains and reburying them in an official gravesite. Mostly young people. Both German and Soviet soldiers. The brutality of the combat was evident. Lots of helmets tore to bits. One soldier did his best to protect himself. He wore two helmets. Alas a piece of shrapnel went through both. If not for digging really no hint of the carnage just below the surface, just peaceful farm fields. Evidently the digging is done every year so the brutality of this event is not forgotten.
Hi, nice video as usual :) i dont know if someone said it already but at 12.59 even if it reads Lappland the image represent the region Karjala (Carelia) which is nowadays part of south-east of Finland and partly Russia. Between 1918 and 1939 the part that now belongs to Russia was included into Finnish territory. During WWII Finns got it back after winning on USSR army causing their retreat many km backward into Soviet territory. After WWII new border have been restored and cities like Ilomantsi (north carelia) and Imatra (south carelia) stayed within the Finnish territories whereas Vyborg is still nowadays in Russia and got through a process of "Sovietization" under the USSR times. Hope to see another of your videos asap!
Mike, that cufflink looks like two Waffen SS insignia combined. The arm and sword on the left looks like the "Division der SS Estnische" which was an Estonian division, and the right side looks like "SS Gebirgs Division Handschar" which was Croatian. I've never seen anything like it and it's definitely very cool
I'm from Wisconsin, also called the Badger State. We know what mean little critters badgers are. You need to get yourself a weenie dog! We have two. We don't allow them to hunt wild critters like badgers, but they do hunt the rabbits and mice in our yard and keep it critter-free.
Very kool channel i enjoy this great findings my grandfather was WW2 vet he fought in the Battle of Bulge this is interesting seeing the German countryside Cheers from Massachusetts 👍
Hi Jayson, thanks for watching! I made some video's around the Battle of the bulge region. Magical place. especially early in the morning when it's covered in fog.
Nice job Mike good finds the peice of the vehicle i think it could be a peice on the back for cargo like Jerry Cans o something and the peice that has the handle looks like a can opener
Hi Mike. I nearly choked on my coffee with laughter when you came out with "lucky bas***d" 😅😅. I think that every time I watch your vids 😉 Thanks for sharing mate & well done on the upgrade to the A.T. Max (lucky b...) 😆
Very cool. Just subscribed. The thing you found first that you called a pencil looks like half of a compass or protractor? Maybe used on maps..Just a guess though...
Hi Mike, Thanks for the very interesting show of your metal detecting finds. Sorry you were being bitten by many mosquitoes while out on your search. May I offer a suggestion with bothersome insects. Rather than using one of the many chemically toxic insect repellents out there, try using some natural lavender essential oil on your skin. I've found that it has a pleasant scent while doing a good job at repelling mosquitoes, gnats, flies etc. Good luck with your future finds and I enjoyed your video.
My best find ever!... Check it out!... Sound of shovel clink then... BOOM!... ☠️ Just be carful searching that type of area or you’ll be history vs finding it.
During the intro, for a second I thought I was watching a movie ha. When you showed the clip of the green Foliage on the ground I was waiting for tank tracks to come across the screen ha.
First time here awesome. I hit the like button and subscribed to your channel. I to am a detectorist and a few others.I like how you explain things good hunting. Keep the dream alive peace
Supporto per MG da trincea. Si usa la notte per incrociare i tiri tra le diverse postazioni di mg, in modo di non lasciare corridoi scoperti. Ogni Mg ha un suo percorso basculante, programmato con dei fermi.
Very complicated, all depends on local laws. Just google it, there is an English website telling all about german laws on metal detecting. If you cant find it message me on facebook, I’ll send it to you.
Great finds Mike.... (even the previous video).. AND stay away from the Badgers. They are ferocious without a doubt and NO FEAR to attack.... Bell well my friend...
+Iron Mike Metaldetecting, Fantastic to see. The small finds you got. Can I please ask one question? The piece of music at the end of the video and the singer? It sent shivers down my spine!! Truly great voice to. Go with the video Thanks Jonathan 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Writing device for mapping?
Wow, those badgers are so cute. Thanks for sharing that along with all the interesting finds/history.

Good to see you Mike.
Thanks for another interesting vid.
At 8:52 I believe the object was used to unscrew the cap off of 55 gal fuel drums
Welcome back bro! Another excellent video. Anything you find that you don't know what it is qualifies as a watchamacolic or a thingamajig. Keep them coming man. Always live watching your videos
Im watching all your videos again!
I'm always amazed people like yourself are still finding things like this.
Mike,at the start, the find was not a pen, but a battlefield surgical scalpel...great video`s by the way
Been waiting for another awesome video, thanks Mike 👍

Although the other suggestions of 55-gallon fuel can-opener or a hand-plunger/detonator may also be correct...
6:40 It is a horse drawn wagon's front axle fifth wheel used to steer.
Yea ive seen them on those old wagons an some old farming equipment
this is not a surgical scalpel because of the small side screw but part of a drawing pen (trekpen) a old fashioned ink pen for technical drawings
Ooooooh yeah brother. I love your videos. Keep on, keeping on!
Thanks Corbin! Will do!
First find adjustable drawing pen, ink. Popular in the early 1900s. I've got a few and still use them!
Ian Robson unfortunately you are wrong although I see where you’re coming from when you say that as I have some as well. It’s a surgical scalpel.
@@kendrawoodward8943 and your wrong also! It's a ww2 mapping pen.
I always look forward to your videos. I love this channel and I wish you the best of luck, keep up the good work!

You are correct. I am a draftsman and have one of those. It is definitely not a scalpel.
Definitely going to wait another 15 minutes for my food to cook before I begin watching this one. Greetings once again Mike!
Sooooo rare to see this wild deers!!!!! Congratulations! You`ve got a real sense for nature!!!!

Already have a mouse that kinda looks like a dog.
I was in berlin in 84 and the flea markets were insane.. LOTS of stuff from the war and pre war.. a few german marks and you could buy an uniform
You should have bought it all, worth much more nowadays
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting at the time I was not into buying/selling.. today I think it's grotescque to sell dog tags on ebay

What do you bathe the steel in to remove rust
First find is a MAPPING PEN (not a scalpel)
Think you are right.
Served there in the '70's, bodies and relics everywhere, especially in the Grunewald
Greeting from metal Detector Bali ♥️🙏🥰

Die Dassen waren geweldig om te zien! Mazzelpik!

Mike, that knife is a Uchatius ,a fruit knife worth around 20.00, varies from the 1920s to the 50s.

Also this big leather part, it`s from a horse equipment
Great finds Mike.... (even the previous video).. AND stay away from the Badgers. They are ferocious without a doubt and NO FEAR to attack.... Bell well my friend...
try safety pinning a couple of dryer sheets to your t shirt to get rid of the mosquitos.
Volgens my was dat eerste item een onderdeel van een passer set, misschien iets uit een kaartenmap?
Ja dat was ook mijn vermoeden
thank you great video some days are better than others
Het ziet er weer goed uit Mike👍👍👌👌
Great video as always Mike. How do you clean up those MG42 barrels?
hi mike ,the Butten is 1920s . it might be military . but most likely not.
Ok, thanks!
+Iron Mike Metaldetecting,
Fantastic to see. The small finds you got.

Could it be a date stamp ?
Wow what a awesome camera when you zoomed in on the Badgers I was very impressed thanks for sharing that 🙂 cool finds too as always
Hey Mike. De vondst aan het begin lijkt een chirurgisch mes of scalpel
Moest ik ook gelijk aan denken!
Gracias por todo amigo!!
You can force the metal from the ground. You just use dynamite.
Another awesome video mate! Thank you for sharing:) Speaking of mosquitoes, try metal detecting in Hong Kong:()
8:50 that is a press or juicer iron Mike
