My dad, my jazz loving dad. Who grew up in the 40's used to come in my room and ask me to play this. I haven't played this in many years. My Dad passed on 2013 at the age of 87, Dad, this is for you. Your loving Son, Tommy
yes a great memory of yours with your dad - and your dad is now listening up there in Heaven at an Alvin Lee concert !
Dad is jammin with the great jazz players in heaven...Paradise..What a cool son that remembers his father.Awesome..jam on!!
Tommy what a fantastic son you are..Hes in Paradise.
Aw man, thanks for sharing that. That's great.
That shows you to be a dutiful son who admired his father. You honor him with such memories. In a sense death is not the end. It is a transition from which the dead live on in the memories of memories others.
Guitar players said , sure he was fast , but it was mostly pentatonic scales, critics said sure he was talented but the material wasnt there.
He stole the show when he played woodstock but the naysayers said the bad weather , and poor scheduling made it easy.
But those of us listening to this know damn well Alvin had a rocknroll heart ! and rock and roll will never die.....
Don't care if he used a chromatic scale! Sounds good to me lol😅
I never gave a rat's ass what anybody ever said about this guy....I've always loved his playing.
To Alvin and his mates, "thanks for being with us!" You did change the world.
Alvin Lee deserves credit for being one of the Top Guitarist of his time....
Bassist ain’t half bad either.
Of all times and Leo Lyons is a close second to Jack Bruce on Bass
I agree with ya,Alvin Lee it's a Master God be with you Alvin and you guitar too
FROM 6:31 TO 7:10 HE HOLDS THE SAME RIFF - ACCURATELY AND NEVER LETS UP - - ALVIN LEE - THERE WAS NOBODY IN HIS CLASS OF ALL THE "BIGGER" NAME ON THE GUITAR - - YES INDEED - - ALVIN LEE HAD IT ALL - - AGILITY - - SPEED - AND THE IMAGINATION AT THAT SPEED - - IDEAS - - SWING - - BLUES - - ROCKABILLY - - BE - BOP - - HAIL - HAIL ALVIN LEE !
Everything well said. In addition concerning the riff you mention: he is picking every note--not hammer/pull off
Wow 👏 to perfection, deserves a hand!
I am now 70 and have been playing this track all my life. Just amazing. In my view, no-one played bass faster than Leo Lyons or lead guitar than Alvin Lee. Page, Clapton, Hendrix and Beck get the plaudits but Alvin is right there. His fast electrifying phrasing is something to behold.
Alvin was a gift from god. R.I.P.🍉☮
I had the pleasure of seeing Ten Years After twice, in small-medium size venues. Alvin Lee and company blew us away both times.
Only once for me, and I was very young but yeah I still remember that show today. I was in absolute heaven.
Edgar Winter's Tobacco Road and this were the most bad ass things on the play list back in the day.
I was shooting pool with my Dad when I was a teen. This came on and he said I didn't like this with trumpets and I like it less like this. He let it play though because I think he wanted to see what they would do with it. Sure wasn't the Dorsey's. Miss you and love you Dad.
Holy Underwear Batman ! I absolutely love this instrumental ! What a bodacious "blast from the past" ! THANK YOU so much for sharing it with us ! You have MADE my day & my week ! CHEERS !! :-)
Everytime I hear this I'm blown away. Great jazzy electro classic from late 60s.my favourite of their songs. Love bass on this. The guitar entry at 4 mins is just a moment of brilliance.
Yeeaah it's true Alvin is a Master love forever
To put it bluntly, this smokes!
throw the rock around the clock solo in....thanks Alvin
Best best tune ever very well recorded....
WOW WOW AN MORE WOW!!!GO CAT GO
Always loved this recording… TYA’s jazz style of playing here is very cool, in fact I wished they’d done more in this musical vein!
このレコード盤、私の『宝物』なんでございます✨
Why aren't they in the rocknroll Hall of Fame? Why are dead gangstas rappers in?
great question
because HoF doesn't recognize talent
Quiet please
You are asking
Too many questions
They should change the name to “Popular music “ HOF. What a joke
Yea, thanks for this post😊. I grew up 🎶listening to ten years after. Alvin, one of my heros!
Live Undead. Thank you
Grande Alvin, de lo mejor que he escuchado en mis casi 60 tacos. La juventud de ahora no sabe disfrutar de la buena música.
