If only...! I was in a UBER back in November 15th 2022. In Cincinnati Ohio. Someone ran a stop sign and hit the Uber I was in. Totalled both cars. Well, long story short, I'm waiting for uber to send me another ride, the first cop on scene to the crash gets out and is angrily yelling at the Uber driver, the other driver and myself to get off of our cell phones. He even made the Uber driver hang up with 911. That's how we knew he wasn't dispatched to the wreck, he just happened to pass it... Anyway, I guess I took to long to get off my phone, so he grabs my arms, tries taking my phone, I switched it to my other hand and that's when this cop LOST IT!!! Next thing I know I'm thrown on the ground and he's yelling stop resisting, to stop moving, HANDS HANDS HANDS. Anyway, two other cops show up and run over to assist him, I got one with a shin on my neck, hand on back of my head rubbing my face into the sidewalk, another cop kicking me and kneeing me in the ribs, and the original cop trying to get my hands in cuffs. He twisted and bent my right ring and middle finger, broke them both. I was told at the hospital that they also fractured several of my ribs..
I was beat up, cuffed , and thrown in the back of a cop car before they even asked me my name, before they told me I was under arrest, before ANYTHING, they didn't even verify if I was involved in the crash, for all they knew I was just a civilian, standing on sidewalk, observing .... Anyway, I was arrested for "resisting arrest" and "obstruction".. like wtf!? Resisting arrest? What arrest tho? I was never told I was being detained or anything like that until after the fact...

@@ayten3617 I am an uber driver. I commented under another post that I encounter people with road rage all the time and if they are stupid enough I'd drive to the police barracks. He would have some actual work to do and 😂have to actually get off his rear to do his job the right way. Fyi the uber driver is required by law to report the accident. We have a 911 in our app even if we are feeling unsafe. That uber driver could have got the name and badge of the cop and reported him when calling in for telling you all to get off the phone at the scene of the accident for future record so it'd all been immedietely reported against them. It is built in as a safety feature for both driver and passengers. I just do uber eats, but I still have it. Also if they were Bluetooth they no way have to do this especially if the person on the phone tells them to stay on the line. Sorry to hear you did go through that. I'm fortunate enough that I live in a state with predominately very good police for the most part most aren't corrupted. It is very rare here to have those incidents compared to the normal. Uber could potentially get involved. Drivers are covered through uber plus personal insurance. I hope you still have the driver's contact information incase you'd need or like to have a lawyer use it. One less dirty cop on the streets and more good ones the better we all are. The dept should be responsible for your injuries morally and ethically. See to it uber isn't found accountable but the dept and cops involved are. It's a seperate injury case rather than just the drivers in the wreck. May very well be too late now but not sure. Least you know now for future reference.

The only way to stop this kind of abuse and criminal behavior from police is to vote out your local and state reps that refuse to address this problem. Also, when voting for a judge, make sure you don't vote for the ex prosecutors who always seem to have special relationships with local cops and sheriffs departments.
