I was thinking the same thing, but it’s easy to see momma has more than enough love for all her children. That’s the magical thing that happens a mother’s love doesn’t get divided it gets multiplied by the more children she has. ❤️🥰🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁
That was a wonderful garden tour and I loved it! As a child I grew up on our farm where we had a big garden and lots of patches of extra corn and beans, squashes and pumpkins. My mom and dad loved gifting fresh and canned vegetables and fruits to their close relatives. We also had an orchard of apple trees and a large grape arbor and a strawberry patch. Mom and dad loved sweet potatoes “yams” and they planted a large bed of those, which they kept covered on chilly days and nights with a thick covered roof that could be leaned back against the garden fence during warm sunny days until it was time to plant them in their raised beds. You have a lot of nice veggies growing along with lots of healthy fruit trees! You’ve already accomplished a lot and it’s still not quite summer!
I just want to say thank you for your dedication to your youtube family and making us feel like we are apart of your journey, 70k average per video shows that im not the only one who appreciates these videos hopefully by the end of the year we are at 100k+ views per video
When I think back to when you first moved onto the property, and compare it to how it looks now, all I can say is WOW! Y’all have created such a beautiful and productive homestead. Such a wonderful sight!
Holding my seat in the Hollar Waiting Room! Loving your content but I have to admit that I get a little more excited when you post late…Baby Watch at its best🥰😘!
I actually was thinking maybe they'd come on today with a video announcing the birth of the new baby!!!! I keep meaning to look and see when the full moon is in May. A nurse in the labor/delivery room at our local hospital says they really do have more births on full moons!🌕
Naw, baby girl cause Buggy needs a play mate in a couple of years. I will say May 30th. I'm like everyone else when we see a video from them posted am thinking this is the one where they make that special announcement that we want beings we are on baby watch. ❤@@DawnStephens-v8k
I haven't seen a post from you folks in a while, which I can only presume means you have a new little soul in your life. Prayers are with your family as you take time out to recover and adjust and rejoice.
According to Charles Dowding, you don't need to thin your beats. When I sow mine, I put 4 to 5 seeds in one cell as they grow. You just pull the big ones out, leaving the smaller ones to grow. Charles is on RUclips, so watch how he sows them...x
Saw you in Arkansas with a Buggy bump in Jess' garden yesterday. Is Buggy wanting a sister? Sisters are wonderful creatures. Looking Radiant, Meg. Sing God's praise.
Please give Buggy A big hug and kiss and please tell her thank you for us we have been planting gardens for almost 50 years and this years is the best by fsr. We took her advice and every time we planted something we hollered GROW. Love you all! Congratulations on the new baby girl she is beautiful!
So are we just going to ignore the fact that one of the boys is lurking around mysteriously in the background (12:20) wear a full cape and hood? He's officially my hero!! 🤣
For the life of me, can't figure out why you don't have more subscribers! I feel like I've visited friends while walking through their garden...just friends I'll likely never meet and who don't know me!🙃 Buggy holding Mama's hand warmed this grandma's heart. That is one seriously healthy echinacea! JEALOUS (in a good way) that your Kiwi is blooming! Our male and female plants have made it through winters further south of you, and have come back well this year with more growth over a similar arbor...but no blooms yet. Meg, you look so beautiful! May the Lord continue to bless your family, including the little one we've yet to meet, and increase your bounty from this year's garden!
I love how your little girl can just pull a bean from the plant, walk across the garlic and nobody says things like: don't do that! Be carefull! It melted my heart, she can be herself in nature and that is so beautifull. Love from Holland. ❤
Obi-Wan Buggy coming through the garlic bed was just perfect! I was imagining her teaching her new sibling (maybe a sister) about the plants and how to tell them to GROW! ❤😊
Hey guys we're not going to Garden that much this year..... oh shoot Megs pregnant we're going to add on to our house oh shoot the weather's crazy we can't put our ad on let's go back to gardening either way hollar Homestead crank out the videos I don't care you literally could do a week of Meg canning stuff and as long as it was a different canning I would never have a problem keep doing what you guys are doing
Hey HH Subscribers...what can we do to make this channel grow??? Folks are missing out by not being a part of this family !! Think I'm going to go back and let ALL of their videos just run while I'm doing other things!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MEG. Two nights in a row I dreamed I was babysitting for you so you and Buggy could plant peas- I woke to empty arms 😪😄. I’m thinking this means you had the baby 😊. Can’t WAIT for the sharing news ♥️
The rule of thumb around here is that when the potatoes begin to die back, you can dig some for eating. For those to be saved for the winter, you let the plant completely die before digging them. This allows them to harden off. I’m beginning to have die back, so I told my son to plan on visiting and bring the grandkids in a couple of weeks to help bring in the harvest.
So i really enjoyed this garden tour... great to see both cats - (just said to my wife that i did not think you still had both cats) - Buggy seems to be holding close to mum - nice to see - as I have said a million times in the past I love your family and pray that God continues to bless you.
Your yard looks like it’s exploding from all that good rain! Try cutting your raspberry canes back to three canes per plant you will get some super sized raspberries and Ludacris amounts of them! Give it a try your garden looks amazing!
Love when you take us on a walk through your garden😘! I love Buggy’s pig tails…she’s getting so big and I love the way she slides her hand in Meg’s as they’re walking💜!
I want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I started watching when you were leaving California to find your new home. It has been great watching your children and homestead grow. You are my favorite homesteading family because you are so down to earth. Thank you for your channel and taking us along with you.
Ya'll, YA'LL! Leeks ya'll. I just did this and will never not anymore: I dried the green parts of leeks until they were crispy and flakey, then put them in the spice grinder (coffee bean grinder), and now have delicious leek powder in my spice rack! It is amazing. I can put it in soups, stews, dips... (I also did it with celery and that is even better, esp. the leaves). The giant blackberries might be ollolieberry. They are a hybrid and the biggest blackberry I have seen. Did you have any of those when you lived in CA?
You should be proud of your greenhouse! Take a bow! It looks wonderful! I'm so happy for you having this dripline in for your tomatoes. Wow, those beets are doing so well! I'll have to try some leeks! Nice Mullen plant. Hardy Kiwi plant too! Nice lettuce! I grew lettuce inside for one whole winter. Nice flowers too! perpetual Chard is very happy. Lots of wonderful onions. Zucchini and peppers! Cukes and a bush green bean! Acorn squash and green beans. Yum, peas! Wonderful berry area! Wow, that garlic is looking fantastic! Potatoes, corn, and asparagus. Greenstalks are planted! The strawberry, and herb GreenStalks look wonderful! Sketch looks happy. I can hear him purrrr! Thanks for the garden tour Hollar family!
I enjoy that the Hollars speak with joy when speaking of their garden. Some comparable channels don't really seem to like actually keeping a garden, nor the food it produces. For channels like that, it is all about making some point: "We are doing away with the grocery store! The food from a grocery store is not as nutritious!" It is nice to just wallow in the pride and happiness of growing things just to enjoy the process and the results.
Meg you look beautiful, your gardens are always great...we love following you guys..been watching since you guys were in Cali, thanks for sharing and being wonderful teachers..can't wait to see how the summer goes, we know it will be great...🌻🌿 ☮
Speaking of kiwi! I have had a male & female for about 9 years now. Beautiful vine but I have never had flowers or fruit until this year. I found some flower buds & I am so excited. I run out every day to see how it is progressing. Isn't it funny how such small things give us so much joy!
I really admire you guys. Your work ethic is amazing. Meg, I can cook decent from scratch but nothing compared to you. I absolutely love watching your content. Your children are well behaved and that says a lot about y'all as parents. I'm 63 years old and I'd love to be like you when I grow up ❤
I remember my first productive garden in Nebraska on base housing. I had lined our entire yards chain link fencing with raised beds and planted the entire thing with peas, and tomatoes and cucumbers...and I would go outside to find all the neighborhood kids (for like three neighborhoods around, too) standing around picking peas or tomatoes or cucumbers off the vines and eating them, and their parents watching them, mystified, going "What did you DO to my KIDS!? They NEVER eat vegetables!" lol. It was awesome. All those kids would come round asking what I was doing while I was digging in the dirt and I'd let them 'help' me, so it was just fun to watch. Even my hubby who used to barf when made to eat peas can eat them off the vine while they are crunchy and sweet.
Wonderful garden tour but I was a bit distracted by Buggy in her tiny dark Ninja cape and she had found an item that resembled a sword and was walking along stabbing and slashing things. Beware the Mini Ninja.
It’s a boy I think. Buggy is such a sweet little girl, bless her heart. I envy your weather. Colorado has been very cold this last 3 or 4 days. It is snowing in the high country and the wind, omg…horrendous…a highway sign was knocked down by the wind…has been that bad! 50-75 miles per hr. And you get to seed/grow your veggie. I love your veggie garden/farm.
Thanks for the update!!!!! Y'all are awesome gardiners !!!!!! And construction workers , butchers , just so much valuable information, also the podcast , wow . Thanks for bringing us along , we love it all ❤ 😊
Your Garden is thriving. You are rich with asparagus growing everywhere. Planting some every year will keep you harvesting asparagus for years to come. Take care❤
I follow a lot of the other channels that are part of their group, no one has stated that the baby has been born. They did do a get together to celebrate the soon arrival (like a baby shower), but not a birth.
@@rebelchildshomestead I can’t remember which channel, i watch a lot I’m not subbed to, but i do remember them saying that their friend just had the baby and was going to help out on the homestead, and if you watched the last addition update Ben said baby was due ( i believe) April. So my apologies if I can’t name an exact channel.
@@plurmingo1 It's okay I couldn't remember what they said the due date was either so I just watched their announcement video again and the very end it said "Coming May 2024". And to be clear, I'm not saying you're not right. I'm just saying what I know to the best of my ability.
I agree that you have done a super job on planting your gardens and all the trees and berry plants. Your property has blossomed and is looking fantastic. A lot of work for you Meg but Ben will be grabbing Buggy's help when the baby comes.😊
I am so grateful for the love you show to us ,I really feel you are members of my family .Ben my son and Meg my darling ❤❤sweet daughter your faces are glowing so brightly .Are we in for a great surprise? My gut is saying so when I look at that beautiful tummy. ❤❤❤❤❤ 🧑👧🙏🏼🤟❤️
May your journey through pregnancy be as smooth as the gentle breeze, and may each step you take be filled with grace and strength. May your heart be filled with anticipation and joy as you await the arrival of your little one. May you be surrounded by love and support, and may you find comfort in knowing that you are carrying a miracle within you. May this precious time be filled with blessings, and may you and your baby be healthy and happy. Blessings to you, dear mother-to-be, on this beautiful and miraculous journey of motherhood.
With the hops why don't you sink some paving stones or thick metal plate around them. I do this with my comfrey, mint and anything that spreads on the allotment and it keeps it in check.
This reminds me of when my kids were little & ate all the tomatoes out of he garden. 18 prolific plants & we only were able to get 1 quart of salsa made that year because the kids ate the tomatoes fresh off the vine.
Thank you for the garden tour. You must be exhausted Meg, not long to go now. Baby Hollar is getting ready to make an appearance very soon. I think baby boy,. I'm sooooo excited for you all. ❤
Thank God for good neighbors helping out with a need. Garden looks amazing the best year yet. Every year gets better and your garden is proof. Of course all that great manure is a big bonus. My Peas are later this year as well I had a later plant time cuz of cold temps. Bless u guys so happy for the abundance in the garden. Ben's hard work is showing along with Meg's and the boy's. Stay safe eat healthy.
A note for your corn, a elderly gardener told my husband to put nitrogen side dress( not heavy), at ankle high, thigh high, knee high and hip high. Made a big difference for our harvest. We also use, bodacious , ambrosia & incredible. Very sweet corn.
You have so much to be proud of with all the hard work and time you've put into your homestead. The best part is when the plants reseed. It's like little seed blessings.
You should be very proud of your garden and show it off! It looks wonderful. I know you said you were going to scale gardening back this year because you have 1 or 2 other major things going on, but, hey, y'all gotta eat! It's so good to see the boys, and even Buggy, pitching in to help. Noticed lots of herbs growing in your garden beds - so what's going on in the lovely fenced herb garden you made?
Tame those hops! I grow the bines for food in 20 gallon pots with support. The hops die to the ground in winter. In the spring, I harvest all of the tender shoots except the most vigorous one. The shoots look like little asparagus. They are pleasantly bitter. Great in scrambled eggs! Superb pickled! At the end of the year, I turn out the pots and collect the extra roots to cook as a vegetable. They are sweet like carrots! I repot as many rhizomes as I want and wait for spring. This way, there are no invasive roots giving me nightmares. 😄
Honestly I’m in such aweeee @ the work you have put in with that garden?? It’s gonna be an abundance for y’all, soo proud of you and your family!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩you have DEF taught me and the wife a lot on what happiness SHOULD be!! You really really have, thank you🙏🏼🫶🏼
It is so awesome how many perennial or self sowing annuals you have getting established in your garden! Talk about food security! (As well as beautiful!) Blessings on the Hollar Family Homestead!!! 🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio 🌿 💕
Ohhhhhh. Buggy KNOWS mommy will be busy and tired soon. She’s sticking to you Meg like glue. ♥️🥰. She’ll be such a great help. Little mommy not just big sister. And I think you’re carrying a boy ( I have 3 ) but I STILL can’t stop thinking she is a girl. I read one comment awhile back Buggy part 2 BUT there’s only one Buggy ♥️🥰 and this baby will be just as unique in its own little Hollar way. ♥️♥️♥️ 🙏 for easy and healthy delivery my dear Meg. ♥️ Love to y’all.
Your garden beds are beautiful and we’ve enjoyed watching the whole family take their parts when called upon. Remarkable family….and growing😂. Love being here‼️
I love this ♡ We butcher at home and this is our exact mindset. However, we chose to take our 2 steer to butcher and the most amazing part of that was when the butcher saw me come back he remembered their names and told me he could tell how much they were loved because they were some of the easiest animals that he ever had to handle and that they were calm and at peace until the very end. Their fear being in a new place was my biggest fear, so that was such a relief to me. I miss the boys, but they have already provided a couple dozen meals for our family, and I am so grateful for the time we had them and that we have a name and face to remember with each meal.
Concering the squash bugs. Instead of taking the netting off for pollenation, take a cheap artist paint brush or q-tip and hand pollinate your squash to save them from the bugs. Just get the pollen good on the brush and then go to the next flower, or get it from the plant next to it and just keep going from one flower to the other. It really isn't that labourous and will give you peace of mind.
Your garden is beautiful! I really want to thank your family. I stopped gardening several years ago after a few frustrating years. I have been watching your family and for the first time since then I really want to garden. As I am watching this I am getting more excited. I live in Massachusetts and am very jealous of your growing season as I am just starting. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and I am very sure many others that are watching. I can’t wait to meet the newest addition to your family. Congratulations! Keep the videos coming, I may need some inspiration

Thinking of you all during baby watch! Blessings on your family!
Hopps are really estrogenic, too. "Brewer's droop" is the polite euphemism for what can result from frequent exposure.
Aww...sweet little Lilliana Faith. She is so precious, as all your kiddos are. Bless you for continuing to share this part of your family's journey.
Hard to believe that she will be 4 in August!!! 🌻🐛🌿
Amen... very beautiful... lovely blessing
With the hops why don't you sink some paving stones or thick metal plate around them. I do this with my comfrey, mint and anything that spreads on the allotment and it keeps it in check.
Waiting for that baby. I feel like a grandma sitting in the waiting room 😀🙏❤
I am so impressed about this garden tour. ❤ you all are such beautiful people.
I’ve been following you for f😮several years since you left California. May God bless your new baby and family
Excited to see the new "hollar babe"... gotta be getting close.
Foraging all day is every kid's dream.
Buggy is bonding with the baby❤❤..you can never have tooo much swiss chard or broccoli ❤❤
I find my attention diverted as I listen to Meg talking, I focus on the baby belly…watching for movement. 🤓 Come on, Baby Hollar, GROW❣️
Only intelligent people grow their food. And you beautiful people are intelligent 😊 much ❤️ love. Thank you for being one of the few
A note for your corn, a elderly gardener told my husband to put nitrogen side dress( not heavy), at ankle high, thigh high, knee high and hip high. Made a big difference for our harvest. We also use, bodacious , ambrosia & incredible. Very sweet corn.
So so happy for all of you. One new princess in the house. Congratulations.
lil buggy has gotten clingy with mom, now oh so big with baby
It is truly amazing you're gardening. I never had a green thumb.
Honestly I’m in such aweeee @ the work you have put in with that garden?? It’s gonna be an abundance for y’all, soo proud of you and your family!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩you have DEF taught me and the wife a lot on what happiness SHOULD be!! You really really have, thank you🙏🏼🫶🏼
Oh my gosh I almost forgot to let you know Happy Mother's Megan 🎉
We are worried about the Hollar family hoping and praying no tornado or wind damage to this precious family!❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It’s so hard not to plant in the spring. I say the same thing every year. And planting I go!😊
Concering the squash bugs.
With the hot weather this week those tomato plants are gonna be two feet tall in another week.
Y’all have a nice day.❤❤
Your garden is beautiful!
Oh Guys I have missed so much - My Husband had Open Heart Triple Bypass (69yrs old) & I have been missing in action so now to catch up 🥰 Wow Meg are you having twins 😀 I have missed the whole progression . Love Denise- Australia
