Chelsea, mushrooms hold alot of air, almost like a sponge. So the pre-cooking then releases that air and then they won't shrink as much and leave you with crazy headspace. I love your pantry tour videos.

I really enjoyed your tour of your pantries, but I was exhausted from seeing what all you had canned. Holy cow! I'm 84 and I've canned off and on all my 64 1/2 years of marriage. Now, I'm wheelchair bound and I am debating selling all my canning stuff. I hate to because I'm afraid that the way the world is going, I will need it. I can still do it, but I have to have help lifting, getting stuff in and out of he canner or water bath, etc. I have never seen such an extensive pantry as yours. You are so lucky to have that much space to put things in. And despite a few things not being labeled, it was beautifully organized. I enjoyed this very much.

I am nearly 50 and when I was a child my mother would buy the Laura Scudder’s peanut butter. To help with the mixing she would store the jar upside down so that the oil would go to the bottom of the jar and that way, when she opened it and started mixing, the oil would not spill over the rim.

Hi! Here's a hack: use a hand held mixer, or an immersion blender for peanut butter. If you gently and slowly push your immersion blender, or ONE beater on a handheld mixer, down into the jar you can emulsify your peanut butter so easily! I learned this hack somewhere on YT and it is a great hack! Try it and tell us if you like this method for stirring peanut butter. Your pantry should be featured in a magazine! It is TOTALLY Pinterst worthy!!

Don't feel too bad about the labeling, guys. 😀 One time when my youngest sister was very little, she snuck into the pantry and peeled all the labels off the commercially canned goods. You never knew if you were going to get dog food or tuna, peaches or pickled beets. For a few months we'd do pantry suprise dinners once a week. It made for a lot of laughs and some funny suprise combos.

For the natural peanut butter mix it with a dough hook hand held mixer. HOLD THE JAR TIGHTLY when you do it. 😅 It'll mix it up nice and smooth! Absolutely stunning pantry. Always look forward to seeing it. 💜 💗

Another idea is to store the jar upside down.... makes it far easier to mix. :)

Been watching you for a few years now and I'm so impressed with how your channel has grown and the professionalism you show in your videos. You're one of my favourite homesteaders, I find your content so accessible (I'm in australia and not at all religious) and your recipes are yummy!
Do you have a list of everything you canned this year on your website? I want to try some the recipes I've missed.
Also, there is no such thing as too much contact solution!! I am so reliant on my contact lenses - it's one of the things I'm terrified for a collapse about.

Chelsie and Dan, of course, your pantry is absolutely wonderful and so well organized Chelsie, even if you did forget just only a very few jars!! don't let dan give you a hard time over those few!! You all are so cute interacting with each other! You remind me of my husband, Don and me, even though we have been married for 61 years this thanksgiving!! We still just love being together and laughing and just "doing life" together!! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on reaching your 2oo,ooo viewer, of which, I am one of those!! I never miss watching your videos!!

First time visiting your page. Incredible!!! I am so in awe of what you and your husband have done!! I have been working on being more self sufficient, especially since retiring. Love canning (water bath and pressure). Learning about over winter storage for vegetables. I live in Buffalo, New York, USA. We've got the right temperatures for that, lol! Noted for our lake effect blizzards and deep snowfalls. You are so inspirational to me, thank you both!!

Oh my goodness, freeze dried marshmallows…I know what treat id be freeze drying for my kids. Yum!!! Your pantry and storage is beautiful, just looking at all those cans makes my feet hurt 😂 talk about marathons in the kitchen, you’re a canning machine! Very inspiring ❤just starting to familiarize myself with canning the last year or two. Still nervous in some things but watching your videos has helped me feel more comfortable with it. You make it look so stress free and just normal part of the day. Thank you for sharing!!

The pantry looks so amazing! It must be such an awesome feeling to see all of your hard work lined up in beautiful rows like that.
My husband was laughing at me because we were watching a Netflix show on TV and I logged on to RUclips on my phone during a commercial and saw that you uploaded the pantry tour video. I jumped up and said I had to go upstairs to watch your video on our other tv. He laughed at me and I said “You don’t understand! We worked all year for this!”
I feel like I was there with you for a lot of it, So awesome to see all that work on those shelves.

Wow, wonderful job of food security. The only suggestion I have for you, is to put your bulk items in food grade buckets or containers. This will protect from pest like insect and rodents, as well as to help guard against flood damage to your food. I'm impressed with the amount of food and supplies you have been able to stalk up on. Great job with that. I'm also impressed with the way you have food preserved in many different ways. This gives you a lot of options to choose from
All together I think you have done a fabulous job. Keep up the great work.😊😊😊😊😊😊.
