I'm a pianist returning after some time off. I'm also 71 yr old and starting to get arthritis symptoms in my fingers and hands. Your exercises were soothing and thank you. I will continue using them. 👍
Thank you for this! 77 legal professional who types writes daily ... suffered serious car accident with injuries hand back and neck... this video is outstanding thank you!!!
So my great, great grandmother never got arthritis, and she lived to be 104. She claimed her secret was a tea spoon of *raw minced ginger* and a tea spoon of white vinegar every morning. A study was done in Australia in the late 90s that showed raw ginger was able to slow or even reverse arthritis symptoms if taken regularly and consistently. So it wasn't just my ancestor. (Sadly she passed before I was born, but my brother met her as a baby)
I am incomplete paraplegic. I am super active in my mid 40s and work at a desk all day. i've been desperately trying to find the morning routine. I just did this in bed and it did wonders for my morning stiffness.
Thankyou Ann Swanson, Yoga Therapist, 🌐🛡️🚭♀️🌞No Arthritis, Antinflammatory Diet, Prevention, No sugar, no wheat, no soda, no fried foods, no meat, REALLY 😊
Thanks for this. At 73 I've been playing guitar for about 60 of those years. Lately I've had some pain in my left hand. I'm hoping this will help if I do it to start my daily playing. Liked and subscribed.
My hands have been not feeling good these days because of too much crocheting and I figured that I should look for hand exercises on RUclips. I am so, so glad that I have found your video! Your voice is very relaxing and the exercise is very easy to follow. I also installed your app immediately, I will be exploring everything that is in there
After doing this exercise, I feel my hands ( wrist and fingers) are warmed and ready to interpret sign language for church ⛪️ ( volunteer) tonight. Also, I it will help me prevent from injuring my hand while interpreting. Thank you 😊!
Thank you for this video. I have rheumatoid arthritis and this hand yoga is relieving achy tendons. This meditation is helping me feel more mindful and grateful for the great blessings I have in my life. 😊
i’ve been trying a bunch of different hand focused videos and this is one of my favorites so far! great combo of stretching, strengthening, and meditation. followed along before my guitar practice routine.
Have just discovered your video after looking for ways to help alleviate my painful thumb joints. I am 72, and have recently begun playing the piano much more regularly than before. I practice yoga twice a week, so was looking for yoga-based exercises specifically for hands. I really enjoyed watching you and listening to your soothing voice. I’m sure these exercises will help me 🤗.
I've just come across your video and find these exercises very beneficial in loosening up stiff fingers. I'm 76 and just started learning piano, but find my fingers a bit stiff and arthritic afterwards so will concentrate on doing these before a practice.
I feel mucho better! Thanks much Ann ! I’ll be 65 in a month or so and I just got an acoustic guitar, after not playing for 25 years I’m hoping this time, I mean this time I will follow through ! So these exercises will help immensely Thanks again and may God bless you for helping all of us!!
I just found this video and wanted to thank you! I type all day and these exercises felt really great. I also have ganlion cyst that is small but sometimes can hurt if I hit it just right. I will be doing these every day to help with hand pain and stiffness. Thanks again! ☺
I have a diagnosis of Inclusion Body Myositis, so practice hand and finger exercises daily. Really enjoyed your video thank you, I do most of these but particularly liked your calm and soothing manner. :)
Been playing bass for a while .. and my left hand has been struggling immensely.. trigger finger, joint pains, etc... These exercises have been helping a bit, thank you! :)
My thumb and along the side of my wrist connected to the thumb on right hand have been feeling tight, I did wrist exercises and this hand one gave my digit a nice stretch that the wrist exercises don't address. thank you 💜
Ann swanson your voice ...and attitude touches the senses...the science of yoga and tone beautifully explained has taken me to another level...i am 50 percent better and tension free after one session. loved it Thank you.
To be honest my hands started feel tight and my fingers and warm as well. After doing these hand massages it feels a bit better. I’ll continue to this every day as much as possible ✔️
Oh my goodness! I am a caregiver and I work full time, and I use my hands a LOT (and they hurt). Today I looked up hand exercises and found you…that fist to hand exercise was my favorite (although, collectively, they all helped)! I just did the exercises with you, and my hands and wrists feel GREAT!!! Thank you!😀
I actually leaned on my right hand standing up from sitting on the floor and immediately felt some pain on my right hand, maybe from the wrist and the thumb. I did this exercise and felt some tension release. Still feel a little pain waving my hand goodbye sideways, but it definitely feels better than when I started this hand exercise. Thanks for sharing this video, will definitely repeat this exercise daily.
THAT WAS AMAZING! I have been suffering from painting and extensive laborious work recently and the numbness and pain in both arms, wrists and hands has been terrible. I liked and followed to lean more ways to help relieve the stress from over use. Thank you. So helpful ❤
I do hair, my wrist was sore. After doing these exercises, my wrist felt looser and warm. Thanks for preparing me for another full day of doing hair🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! I am just starting Yoga practice and had the hardest time with hand pain... this is after having tennis elbow from years of typing and computer work. This video helped, I plan on coming back to it frequently!
I’m 63 and 3 weeks ago I have sprained my right thumb joint where it meets in the web of my hand. At times it s still Very painful and difficult to hold things. I’ve been icing and massaging the area. I’ll try this thanks
In the middle of my final dissertation crunch (SO much writing!) and my destressing hobby is knitting - thank you for this video and the little break of calm and helping me to keep pushing forward ❤
i’m a tattoo artist and I draw a lot, I also started crocheting - and started to feel pain in my wrist your video helped me! gonna practice it in the future for sure thank you for your work ❤
I wish I had this knowledge years ago. Today I have arthritic hands and am trying to put off thumb joint surgery. It is difficult to touch my thumb to my little finger but I'm going to keep using these exercises in hopes of better range of movement. Thank you Ann.
I love this video so much, thank you, I think I am a growing pianist, really want to know how to make my hands more flexible and in control! Your video make my dream come true! Nice methods, calming voice! And I really feel my hands are more flexible!

How perfectly synchronistic . 3 days ago l pulled out my Science of Yoga book as I have recently gained some 'extra aches and pains' all over my body. Then yesterday l decided to find some hand exercises on YT for the first time (because my hand exercises were not having much impact) as my fingers have become worryingly stiff the last few weeks due to doing a lot of DIY around the house. Presented with so many hand exercise videos, this one jumped out at me as it was Hand Yoga rather than a physiotherapist presentation video...I took no notice of the name of the creator until stated at the start as the author of Science of Yoga! Thankyou and subscribed. You have created an amazingly well presented book. I was a massage therapist once upon a time and how I wish your book was available then whilst training as superb diagrams of the anatomy in action.
17 years old and trying to be more grateful, mindful, and present in myself. Thanks for this. ❤
I wish I had been that wise at 17. Good luck with your journey!
Well done ✅ I'm the same as the comment above your awesome
