honestly, as a portrait photographer in nyc, seeing these walkie talkies with female photographers is really inspiring me to try my hand as street photography
Emily's got a hard edge that I admire in people. It's like her creative spirit is knashing its teeth just beneath the surface. Love her dark sense of humor---the FALLING DOWN analogy is so spot on. She got some wonderful shots, too! I had no idea Jessica Lange was a shooter, and a talented one at that. Thanks, Paulie and Emily! Keep it up!
I liked that little segment in the bar, i would love for more photographers to just have real open honest conversations about this art form we all love. Also Emily’s humor had me cracking up.
really??! not really. she actually seems pretty fake. its like she is trying way too hard to force herself into this "edgy hipster mentality"..... there is no authenticity to her at all.
Of the contemporary film street photographers, she's the best I've seen. I agree completely with her take on the importance of the right equipment. I shoot only digital and love the freedom that digital technology gives.
I’ve followed Emily for about 2 years and am in love with her work! It’s so cool to see what her personality is like. She’s got a great morbid sense of humor and so down to earth.
Each of those photos hit hard. Its incredible how quickly she (and other great street photographers) spots not only the subject but the entire context and captures it in a way that adds to the story through composition. Thanks for bringing fantastic people to our attention with these videos
This was my fav walkie talkie ep.! This Photographer is legit !!! eventhough only 1 year in. Loved her views of the world. Keep photographing , Emily Howe!!! Hugs from Brazil.
Only 1 year! So much of photography is self-portraiture and that can take a while to discover. She’s going to get there incredibly fast with her drive and awareness. Glad to see a woman on the show and hope you can get more. Another great video. Thanks for creating and sharing.
Man, this is the first channel I'm watching 4 30min videos one after the other with no break. I love this content. I was in new York almost a year ago for the first time with my camera, and all this incredibly resonates with me. I'll just keep taking pics, cause you can't stop that feeling inside of you. And these videos are SOOO real, it's satisfying to know we're all on the same boat.
Really like the approach of these Walkie Talkie videos because picking the brains of street photographers really touch on a lot things we can learn from. Thanks for making them!
"butt crack" and literally everything else she says in this video is amazing! love her insight and perspective!!! Definitely gonna check out more of her work!
Emily Rocks! As a photographer and from what I have seen in this video, as a person. Great attitude about, well, everything it appears. Love her work and personality and hope we see more of her work in a gallery or book some time.
BRoo this episode is really dope. So many things Emily mentioned resonate with me. Her precision and pace is furious, and it shows. Incredible imagery. The commentary was refreshing as well. New fan!
Fab video, Emily is very funny and I love her style, both in terms of photos and in general. And Paulie B is a great interviewer. Thanks for another fab episode of Walkie Talkie. I only found you recently and am binge-watching now 😊
Love these videos walking with photographers. Please don't stop. You're onto something wonderful.. Very impressed with Emily's work & hit rate. Just about to follow. 👍
Ho ho ho! Emily fucking nailed it. Michael Douglas & Jessica Lang references were absolute hits. Kudos to her. Now following her like a stalker on Instagram! Really love your walkie talkie series. Cheers from Montreal QC
Saw her work, I need to get into her kind of Street Photography, her Landscapes are dreamy. You are doing a great job at promoting street photography and the street photographers.
I like her take on the gear. So many people say that gear doesn't matter. For starters? Sure, you can learn to take good photos on any equipment. The difference is that on an expensive/good one, you won't get discouraged after 1 problem. In digital, cheap cameras tend to have low mp, so you can't get too good with post-processing. Not to mention the iso, which often look bad above 2k. In analogues it is a bit better, but you can still see the differences between expensive and cheap camera, as well as in expensive and cheap film.
That orphan quip was so fucking funny. I swear I was still chuckling at that all the way until she hit us with the Vivian Maier opportunists burn into buttcrack-shot wombo combo. She's great. Reminds me of having drinks with good friends and just babbling carelessly but not pointlessly.
10:51 what a frame man, that’s one of the definition of what street photography is, if someone ask what is sp just show that still, that’s a movie set up happening on the real life! Haha that snap look all planned man! The guys just chilling in terrace, the ladders in the middle, the man coming in, the guy left side working and another ladders, red brush and red sign same side, the black space of the entrance, just Wow 😍
this was so incredibly inspiring, and i love that she is so new to street photography, it gives me hope that i can also do the same. she has such strong and admirable energy, i really like this gyal!!!!!! very inspiring. love to see woman on this series
God her work is so good, and she's hilarious. I just started following her recently so this was cool to see! If there's a world where you could get Monaris on here for one of these, that would be an awesome episode
“It’s a love/hate relationship; I love it, it hates me.”
I so feel this!
This is so true for me!
I absolutely get it.
“She’s dead now. That’s an orphan.” I laughed so hard. She is talented and hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
This ^. I was dying.
thats not funny at all

Love her energy, photography and honesty. She's incredibly creative, smart and funny
I can feel that she’s very intelligent and emotive. A real artist. She’s super stylish btw. It was a nice talk 👌🏻
Emily is too cool. Seriously love this series Paulie.
honestly, as a portrait photographer in nyc, seeing these walkie talkies with female photographers is really inspiring me to try my hand as street photography
She needs to have her own podcast where she just talks about everything like she did in this video.
Emily's got a hard edge that I admire in people. It's like her creative spirit is knashing its teeth just beneath the surface. Love her dark sense of humor---the FALLING DOWN analogy is so spot on. I’ve been waiting for a walkie talkie episode with a female photographer 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Seriously! Was about to say the same thing. Was starting to think Paulie only knows men.
She has a wonderful awkward, sarcastic, self-deprecation humor and charisma. Pure entertainment.
Why is this so short? (The length of the video.) :(
I liked that little segment in the bar, i would love for more photographers to just have real open honest conversations about this art form we all love. Also Emily’s humor had me cracking up.
I agree
Love how raw and authentic she is, & her work is killer too
Thank you for introducing me to Emily. She is so authentic is cool as hell!

I love how down to earth and honest she is. Some really refreshing takes. Great work!
If Trinity from the Matrix took the blue pill and became a photographer instead.
Drink break was a nice change of pace! Walkie talkie is such a good format over all
Each of those photos hit hard. Its incredible how quickly she (and other great street photographers) spots not only the subject but the entire context and captures it in a way that adds to the story through composition. Thanks for bringing fantastic people to our attention with these videos

Emily is A+. Love her style. Love her photos. That conversation about the gear... I needed to hear that. Loved it. I feel the same way.
I normally don't like 'in your face' street photos, but Emily is just about as nice and fun as I can imagine anyone being while doing it. Lovely.
Only 1 year! So much of photography is self-portraiture and that can take a while to discover. She’s going to get there incredibly fast with her drive and awareness. Glad to see a woman on the show and hope you can get more. Another great video. Thanks for creating and sharing.
Awesome episode and love to see another female street photographer!
this lady is awesome and I feel like I had the vacation of my life while just listening her and I feel totally rested
I really like her work. She has a very quick eye and is extremely competent with her Leica. Really enjoyed this video.
Emily needs her own segment/series on this channel
I'm sure she has social media.....
One of the most entertaining Walkie-talkies yet. Very magnetic personality and absolutely beautiful photos.

OMG, Emily you're the definition of cool AND you look amazing. Thanks Paulie for all those Walkie Talkie.
this was my favorite episode so far, love her work
The comments over beer are my favorite part of this video. I am 100% in agreement
Good episode, I get a sense she is fighting a lot of internal demons and like many of us photography is our therapy.
This is one of the best walkie talkies!
Laughed so much when she talked about Vivian
Love these videos walking with photographers.
Please don't stop.
You're onto something wonderful..
Very impressed with Emily's work & hit rate. Just about to follow. 👍
I like Emily's literal perspective through the lens- shooting lower and tilted upwards, it's a lot more unique!
I cant get enough of her!!
I love her work and her wit!!
"I'm calling OSHA" super funny, she's a fucking legend. What a great ep.
omg she’s the absolute boss !! Love her energy
Excellent, love her energy and focus and ofcourse the style is pouring through. Class act.
She’s def a gem of a human soul... and a helluva fine photographer 📸👊🏻🙏🏻✌🏻😎🇨🇦
Another great episode. Emily came out very genuine. I feel she lacks the confidence she deserves to have. Her pictures are great.

I am so glad to see a female street photographer! I’m doing some street work based out of Vancouver BC, and just started my YT journey!
I love her sense of light and color. Had no idea who she was until now. Thanks!
The coolest person I've watched in street photography!
my favourite episode so far. she makes it look way too easy.
love the Falling Down reference ... it's real ... good work Emily
The speed walk is amazing love it. Walk an talk!
Another great Walkie Talkie. This is the best photography series on RUclips.
I am so jealous of street photographers living in NYC, that place is so photographic.
Loved this one (honestly love all of them), but it was great to be introduced to Emily and live in her head, shoes and lens for a bit. Instant fan!

Good talk. She does do great work. Interesting take on people living on the edge in NYC.

Can't appreciate the real nature of light with sunglasses
this one was great. a punchy 15 minute walkie talkie, it was like a ramones record compared to the usual hour long versions
I really enjoyed this vid! Thx Emily, you're such an inspiration
The woman smoking the cigarette is a FANTASTIC photo
These videos are one of my favorites on RUclips
Well-done! Thanks, to both of you. I appreciate the reminder that I had wanted to buy Jessica Lange’s book, of images shot along Highway 61.
Paulie is the man! I always refresh this channel to see whats out next.
Emily is so funny and insightful!
