Only Robin Gibb could take those lyrics and turn them into such an unforgettable piece. Does anyone know why this beautiful piece of music was never released. I know many of his fans have just heard it much later, as I have. It will stay with me always. We miss having him beside us on earth writing beautiful music until the tragic end of his life. I believe he knew he would not live a long life. It was a connection to life and loss that permeated most of his music, especially after he lost his twin, and when he sang alone. I hope they find and release more of these hidden treasures before this generation passes.

Even when each brother sang the same range of verbrato or falsetto, there was a definite difference in personality’s that came out when they sang individually! This song seems to reflect Robins caring and softer spoken nature. Great song!

"In the Bleak Midwinter" "Country Lanes", "My Lover's Prayer" "Massachusetts","I can't see Nobody", "I started a Joke" "The Longest Night", "And the sun will shine"..too many to list..no one can illicit such a visceral response, like Robin Gibb. @@nancyavent1172 Totally agree. From his early songs in the '60s to his later songs in the '90s he gave the Bee Gees that special sound. Not taking anything away from Barry or Maurice but when Robin sang he soared to the heavens.
Your right Robin had a beautiful voice it's different to Barry's voice can't compare them with each other because Barry Robin and Maurice needed each to great that bee gees sound I noticed Maurice didn't sing lead on many of their songs I noticed it was either Barry or Robin that sang lead but they were all clever songwriters and performers even their younger brother Andy he was talented as well

You have used the same word as me to describe Robin's voice " hauntingly beautiful" and I never knew until after he was gone just how beautiful his voice was, I always thought it was Barry's voice that made them, such a great mistake on my part to find out now just what a great voice Robin had after he is gone and while listening to their music I've came across so many songs I had never heard and found out Maurice should have sang more songs as lead also because his voice was great also..
