Unlike most fictional rock and roll stories, the original songs here are actually quite listenable. I usually find most movies like this to be cringeworthy when it comes to the music. But most of this soundtrack feels very authentic, like these songs could have been real hits in the 70's.
Only other film I can say that has great original songs, but set in the 60s is "That Thing You Do!" Adam Schlesinger (RIP) did a brilliant job writing the title song.
by far the best music shows we seen in a long while. I can't believe they all had to learn to perform and play instruments properly for this show. Blake Mills did amazing job producing the music.
Well considering the entire story, band as ethic and music is based on fleetwood mac… just listen to the drum beat v mic fleetwood, along with the base. The lead guide is abit softer than a lot of fleetwod max and the vocals are of course different but the base style is very them.
Definitely a nod to John and Christine during the "White Album" sessions (the album that Rhiannon and Say You Love Me are on). Only difference is that they were actually married, not in a clandestine love affair.
I love this entire series. I could watch it twice a year if in my collection, like Forest Gump. I'd by the sound track album if I new where to find it. Amazon or whoever did this knocked it out of the park this is a big middle finger to HBO, and Hollywood. But they dropped the ball on the promoting of the sound track bad. It's that good!

There isn't really anything left to make a second season about now. The band broke up. Billy and Daisy probably at least became friends after Camilla died, or lovers, as they were in love.
Keep in mind, this is a live-off-the-floor bed track they were recording, not a final mix. No overdubs, nothing stacked/flown in from 2 track. The vocals were boosted to indicate they were recording guide vocals to keep the "feel" in the room because it can be quite disconcerting to play in your own room. They set up the room to control the leakage as best as possible so that when editing and mixing, they don't have a mess. During overdubs, they would record proper vocals. Back then, editing on tape was a very arduous process involving hours of screwdriver work compared to modern DAWs like Pro Tools. When they recorded the music for the film, it was definitely done on Pro Tools and mixed out of the box on a vintage console (Neve/SSL/API etc). The tape machine running in the background was a prop basically, and probably just ran the pre-record tracks through it to make sure there was some signal to make the VU meters go and to see the console light up to make the audience think it was a real recording session on 16 track analog tape.
Cut at Sound City but the gear doesn't match what they had at the time. The console is a Helios Type 69 and the tape machine is a 16 track 3M M79. In the mid 70s Sound City had a Neve 8028 and a 24 track Studer A800. The only reason the gear isn't authentic is because Dave Grohl has it at Studio 606 when he bought it in 2011 (see the documentary Sound City - Grohl wanted it because Nirvana's Nevermind was cut at Sound City)

I loved this show.. Excellent acting and music I still play on RUclips.. Very real.
i want this scene tattooed on my eyelids
THIS IS SO REAL
I love this clip version very much, you can hear Sam's voice louder than the original version.
Major props to Sam Claflin for learning how to sing from scratch for this role!
Very Fleetwood 👏🏻
Not really.
I agree with @KP, this one reminds me of “Rhiannon” Also the guitar riff on “look at us now” sounds like the solo from “the chain”.

Specifically, you can lay "thunder only happens when it's raining..." right on top of the words of this chorus and the backing will work.
@bellabunnell3174 its exactly the same chorus backing as Dreams. Come on.
1:18... im just in love with this man
the way that karen's watching graham is makes me wanna cry in the rain. they were perfect and im still thinking they should've ended up together
Karen's first look is the best. She looks at Graham, her eyes look him up & down, and then she gives just the slightest smile. Superb acting!

the way she wanted to stay with him forever but knew he would be happier with a wife and kids so she left him for his happiness in the end
Such a great series and the ending was super satisfying. Great music and performances.

@@JeanBakula Could always interject the second season during their concert years before they break up.
sadly it won't happen. Check google for update.

On the other version, the instruments are louder. It makes the song so much better

GIVE US A LIVE TOUR
My wife bought me a set of tower speakers and a subwoofer. It makes this sound sooooo good. I love my wife.
Great on my studio monitors through my Allen & Heath mixer. Left the EQ perfectly flat and sounded brilliant!
