As much as i do like sarcastic and cynical humor, it gets a little overbearing at times. It's actually really nice and refreshing to see someone who's just really genuinely enthusiastic and happy about what they do
Same. My brain genuinely goes "any second now, they're gonna do a complete 180 and say SIKE, that's what you idiots think, I'm of the opposite thought!" Which is an incredibly harmful way of living life. It's how you end up when you've been abused sometimes, and all your ability to trust is permanently gone! Sh*t sucks, but it wss decided for me by how my life was as a kid :/
hasan sticking up for the commentary crowd, _specifically kurtis and eddy,_ was such a heart-warming touch to this already v sweet video! ya love to see it! ♡☆
James Chapeskie's energy and light represents the soul we have all lost contact with within ourselves. It's still there, just buried under a heap of trauma rubbish. Let's be more like James Chapeskie.
goddammit I had this whole beautiful comment typed out with some metaphor about vines that was like three paragraphs long but youtube ate it and I can't remember what a lot of it was, except for the part about how I think autism - at least for me - always meant questioning why we weren't allowed to do things and usually refusing to comply on some level if something doesn't make sense to me, like some unspoken societal rule. I used to try to 'mask' and follow a lot of those rules no matter what, but that's basically how you get a lolcow I think? unfortunately? so anytime I see another autistic person out there living their life, doing their thing, and blowing the minds of neurocasuals with their mundane abilities to defy social mores, I get all misty eyed 🥲 I think chapeskie might have unseated ulillillia as 'favorite internet autist I will defend unto the death' tbh
I couldn't stop smiling every time i watched James talk! His passion and excitement for life and his interests is so infectious and palpable. Like those once in a lifetime figures you hear about who have infinite kindness (for example Peter Cushing, who as Christopher Lee has once said "was too good for this world"). Love to see this kind of positivity!
I think its sad that someone living this genuinely comes off as off putting to people or immature in a way. But hes perfect for what he does and so joyful Edit: when the song actually bopped i was shook. It sounds like an 80s song with the bass line lmao
Seeing James be so unapologetically himself is so refreshing to see. At the end of the day, we’re all weirdos on a floating rock and any day could be the last one. At the end of your life you will never wish you’d done more to please the ones around you. ❤
This kurtis video is like shane dawnson docuseries except its nice and cool and not weird or creepy. Like finding some guy and deciding to put them on a platform and make something together
As somebody diagnosed with ASD and work in spec. Ed. I can say this man has very specific mannerisms of ASD. This is not a remark to belittle him, and he is clearly a wholesome individual. Autism is an incredibly complex neurodivergent phenomenon. However, Hasan makes a good point, which is "think it, but don't say it." James seems like a genuine guy and this is because he has community. We often talk about what positive masculinity would look like and it would honestly be this.
In the world full of hate & chaos it's nice to see people like this rise up to the spotlight & share the message of love for passion & living the life to the fullest. 🥰
Thanks for always pumping out content so fast! I was literally halfway through Curtis's video when yours popped up to swap over. Just so you know, the vid has a couple strange black screen cuts or audio issues throughout, but otherwise great as always
@@HasanReactionsfanTwo I was getting them at the beginning 15-20min, but I watched it back again later and I'm thinking my phone is just on its last legs. Sorry for the false alarm 🙏
This put such a smile in my heart! James is such a kind soul n it seems like he has such a good heart n message! What a guy you don’t always meet people like him!!
This is such good content! I love seeing creators uplifting each other, collaborating, and making passion projects. Also I think it's so sweet (and telling) how when each of them get up and do the dance with James they're all smiling ear to ear. At the end of the day it's those little moments of people having a good time together that make life worth living. It's great to see this getting attention
i love this dude so much, he's like if john maus was happier, better, and didn't go to the capitol with ariel pink on january 6th lmao. plus as a fellow autistic artist.. aurtist? idk. fairy in the night makes me want to make music again.
This man is the happiest, most wholesome sumbitch I’ve ever met and I will destroy anyone who hates on him lmaoooo. How do you see something like this and get upset about his happiness?
Hasan reacting to my other favourite creators is so fun! I don’t even care that I’m watching the same shit twice Kurtis get Hasan on Very Really Good :D
Not gonna lie, first thing I thought was "that gut is a cringe dork. He looks like a serial DND player" but he is so genuine and passionate about what he does, at the end I thought "man he is kind of cool in his own way"
Not gonna lie, his stuff just isn't for me; but I respect the fuck out of his enthusiasm and artistic spirit and hope him all the best on his further ventures
Maybe I'm completely off base here or too deep into cynicism but I can't help but feeling the video was sort of infantilizing.. I don't think it was un purpose by Kurtis; and James is an interesting guy.. but I can't imagine people listening to his music earnestly. Judging by the chat's reaction the first time Kurtis showed his music I feel like they're humoring him bc he obviously has some sort of neurodivergency. But maybe they just warmed up to him and it's an acquired taste and I'm being rude.
Oh no I thought it was done great and not infantilising at all. A lot of people could have made it into something like that though, I understand what you mean. He's self aware and just having fun with things
I say this with no shade but you are probably definitely too deep into cynicism. Actual sincerity and passion will always reach some audience and be met with enjoyment in return. I personally love his sound and think it's really refreshing (if I actually knew music history or terminology I could probably describe my feelings better sorry). As for Twitch chat I would never go off of the way they act because everyone who enters that zone needs to be cynical and far gone enough to arrive there in the first place and unlearning that can be difficult. There are definitely some people who will infantilize no matter what, but I think the idea that anybody who likes an unmasked ND person doesn't mean it is really unfair when the first step to creating a safe environment for people to unmask is people putting aside their biases, even if they start off in a clumsy manner
Sorry if that was incoherent, I totally know where you're coming from because NTs sometimes completely miss the mark even when they have good intentions but I think the way Kurtis went about things was respectful and he genuinely looked like he enjoyed himself
i earnestly loved that last song lol. maybe some neurotypical people were being nicer than they would’ve otherwise been to a nt/well-masked person for his sheer enthusiasm and other telling mannerisms, but why wouldn’t they enjoy the music? it ruled
it's so perfectly hasan that he likes this guy and doesn't recognise that getting him bullied and having a typical modern american highschool experience would definitely make an incel of this guy. all the incels definitely were never adorable dorks, they were born gremlins 100 percent. you can tell this guy has completely avoided ridicule, dunno if he was home schooled or very very lucky
His parents seemed nice, and upbringing (and a good one) plays important role in how confident the child is. Incels are people who are both underconfident and overly narcisstic, but James is just making music and hence he respects other people who does creative stuff as well. Also he have a sister, who he seems close to and people he sees as his peers. Also we don't know if he was bullied (and he is canandian)
@@vaishnavisingh9244 incels are unattractive young men that don't come from wealthy families, in the time we live in, period. believe whatever makes you cope for another year or so anime guy, tell yourself that if you act nice and groom yourself that you're a 7. the truth will catch up to you eventually. have a good time celebrating pornstars buying houses like it's a feminist triumph, you have lost your way

In other words, nothing like a Shane Dawson docuseries, thankfully 😂. I loved it
This actually has editing and cuts out the parts we don't need so, yeah. Concur with the other commenter. Nothing like Shane.
I love how excited he got teaching the dance and once they started to get it. What a humble and cool dude.

Wish Kurtis had more input on the song. I think it would have been better, no offense
What is the "Jpop" stuff that chatter and hasan talked about?
