I live in Canada - I am not ordinarily a Rams fan - I am now cheering for them. My heart is with the people of California, as someone who struggles with severe anxiety, I can't imagine what everyone is going through holding their breath and constantly scanning their surroundings. Distraction definitely helps anxiety and there is nothing more beautifully distracting (for a sports fan) than an underdog whose city is really struggling going on a run. Go Rams - Go L.A, I hope this turns into the distraction and inspiration you all truly deserve!

I imagine that Sam Darnold's agent has spent the last 12 hours sobbing on the floor saying: "Why? Why?" like he had been hit with Tonya Harding's hammer.

So I will roll with them.
They are on a seven-game winning streak, now. They have beaten 49ers twice, the Buffalo bills, Minnesota twice, and the Cardinals and Seahawks seeing tough divisional games.

Talking about inspiration....The 2006 Saints did that for New Orleans. That season, they reignited the entire gameday culture. Everyone was still recovering and the Saints were just a complete mess and nothing to get excited about. Then they hired Payton, signed Brees, drafted Reggie Bush.........blocked that punt and started winning. Everyone had something to get excited about and it was a community thing more than I had ever experienced. You did not watch games at home. You went to a bar or wherever to watch with everyone else. They went 10-6, won the division, and won a playoff game.
Capped it all off a few years later by winning the Super Bowl.

Darnold held the ball entirely too long on 87% of his snaps. That's a bullshit percentage, but y'all know it's true. Now whether that was because the Rams DC was in O'Connell's head and scheming toward reads 1 and 2 before snap or the receivers just weren't getting separation, but it was bad. Seven of those sacks shouldn't have been because the ball shoulda been in the seats if Darnold's internal clock was right. It was ugly.

12:09 - Ultimately, what LA's win did...or can do...is inspire the devastated people of a devastated city. Nothing more, nothing less. It can't replace a single house or a single life lost, or pay the billions of dollars necessary to rebuild the city and peoples' devastated lives. But that's what professional sports can do for a city. And for those for whom that inspiration isn't enough, as they stare at their home in ashes, there will be others who ARE inspired and motivated by this win to help pick them up off the floor. And that's everything you can ask a win of this nature under these circumstances to do for people.

“To pick this city up”. Now you know why Lions fans are so ecstatic about finally having a chance to win the Super Bowl. I feel for the folks in LA but, I’m not going to sugarcoat it here, that’s nothing compared to the economic and personal strife that the city of Detroit has gone through over the last several decades. Now-go Lions.

Yeah, I'm not from either city and I'm sympathetic to the terrible situation in LA but honestly, Detroit has decades of reasons to be inspired. I hope the Lions win it all.

I'm reminded of a boss I once worked for. Her husband was going through the end stages of losing the battle with cancer and she very well could have taken time off during that time, but she stayed dedicated to her work. The distraction of work was the only way she could keep herself going mentally. I feel like that's the way a lot of people are. Whether it's needing a distraction or a sense of normalcy. Sometimes the best thing to do to get through tough times is just go to work.

Stafford was on the Lions for eleven years never won a playoff game. It was always, everybody eleses fault. I'm not a Minnesota fan, however that fumble by Stafford, was a fumble. Minnesota scores on that turnover, the game would of been 10-10. The refs reverse the TD by Minnesota, they don't call grounding on Stafford. Ridiculous.

Was full on the Vikings since week 2. After week 18 I bailed and pretty much knew this would be the outcome vs the Rams. Sam was a deer caught in the lions teeth week 18. After seeing that the rams knew what they had to do. Finish off the Vikings wounded QB and butt his sad sac out of the playoffs. I think Sam is still holding the damn ball.
