This battered, broken old veteran can only dream of such a beautiful old machine. I'm happy you saved her.

I'm sure it felt good to have 3 generations of your family working on the Fairlane. Your daughter is definitely going to be a car girl.
Nothing like a daddy's little girl
A good Dad can make a huge difference in a little girl's life 😇
Like it you had your little gal helping.. she'll always remember that. Pez
Hats off to you sir, she got to spend time with you and got a small introduction to your world. When she grows up, she might be into cars or at least understand what it takes on these cars. It is amazing how well this car cleaned up. You do good work!
That’s one sweet looking ride !!!
Anyone would be proud of that
Great job guys
Hard work really pays off !!!
Looks good that was my very first car that I had
Hi Mike and his Dad and Mike's daughter nice video 📹 and workmanship what a shiner !!!
One major thing I love about your videos, you include the family element. Keep it up and can't wait to see the Porsche
I think 1962 was the first year for the mid-size Fairlane. (My grandfather had a 1961 that was a full-size car like the Galaxie.) That Windsor family of engines included the 221, 260, 289, 302, and 351W. The was I understand it, engineers knew that 221 wasn't going to be enough engine to pull that car. So, I think the Challenger 260 was next. My grandfather later traded for a 1968 Fairlane with a 289 that he gave me to drive years later when I turned 16. It had automatic transmission and an AM Philco radio that I added an FM converter to get local stations and that was it. It wasn't much to look at, but it was fast enough for me. Wish I had it back! Great video!
My apologies. I don't watch clean 'em up videos, so I fast forwarded to nearly the end. And it looks incredible. From disgusting to desirable with elbow grease and not much more. We slobs of the world salute you, sir... (all the emojis I have and there isn't a saluting one! Have a cake instead)...🎂
Salute 🫡
Well you missed the cool moments in the video then. God forbid you went and watched AMMONYC! LOL
The cake is a lie
I really enjoy the clean up videos
Ok, Micheal do more clean’em up videos!! Thanks for the tips on cleaning old paint and your touch up work looked great.
My first car was a 1962 Fairline 500 4 door with the rare 221ci V8 predecessor of the iconic 289ci. Great to see this. It looks amazing. Good job. Thanks for sharing this.
Its come out awesome as expected! Great to see your little girl get involved...
I had one just like it. It was white with red and white interior bucket seats. It was our dating machine almost 60 years ago. Good job I enjoyed seeing it recovered. God bless Merry Christmas
Beautiful automobile! I love seeing the old vehicles given a new chance to roll! Great job involving your daughter! Teaching children hands on skills enriches their lives and builds solid work ethics. Well done!
It turned out much better than I expected. Good job! Fortunately, back in the 60s, black was black. Nothing added. I worked at a NAPA store and had to mix paint occasionally. But black required no mixing. Use it straight out of the can.
Back then there were (at least at the store where I worked) 2 paint type choices. Acrylic enamel (Ford and Chrysler) and acrylic lacquer for GM vehicles.
Looking forward to further work on this car.
Man that was a diamond in the rough and your daughter is an excellent helper 🙂 keep her at it 😁
You and your dad are doing a wonderful job on this car. I think a lot of people are wanting to return to these old dependable cars. No computer or nothing!
Another survivor gets a new lease on life, the kid helps out and learns something The end result is spectacular, and a stinky old crusty beast that might have gotten crushed if idiots were in charge can now be a fine and beautiful daily driver if you so desire.
My heart skips a beat and does a backflip. Everybody wins. Outstanding work, sir.
I wish you nothing but the best!!
Great job Michael! I learned to drive in a '63 Fairlane 300. It was really bare bones compared to your jewel I'm really happy to see you resurrecting these pieces of automotive history. Love the channel , always a new challenge to keep us coming back.
Absolutely awesome. What a great job. Thank you for sharing your video.
I watched all 3 videos of the 62 Fairlane....I LOVED all 3.....your instincts are good and you did a great job of getting this hidden jewel running again...thanks and keep them coming.
What I really enjoy about your channel is that your not dropping thousands and thousands of dollars into new parts and can still get a vehicle to turn out that good.
Apart from the Porsche! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@richardp6178 but it does look nice
@@darrenswails Oh that it does!!!
One of the best "barn-find shine-ups" I've seen this year! Looking forward to seeing more of this ride in future videos. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
My first car was a '63 Fairlane w/ bench seats and three on the column with the 221 V8 engine. I was 16 and the car was three years old. I paid $750 for it with pretty low mileage. I drove the heck out of the car, but this was the beginning of the muscle car era, and I couldn't wait to get enough money to get into a muscle car. It took me a couple of years to be able to afford a '66 Olds 442. But my dad drove the Fairlane for another few years as a drive to work car. These things were sturdy but easy to work on. Great video! Lots of memories there.
It’s amazing how good that paint came out, great work
Always loved them oldFairlanes
Being stored indoors really saved on it, great job. beautiful car.
Awesome job you are a great dad i love the car looks beautiful.
That is one drop-dead GORGEOUS survivor! Anyone in their right mind would be proud to make it their Saturday night cruiser and/or their daily driver. Looking forward to the next installment of this revival. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and an even more wonderful New Year! To the entire BB gang, Cheers!!!
I just happened across your youtube channel and, after watching your work on the 62 Fairlane, I am hooked. A appreciate the fact that you are talking about dropping in an LS engine or altering the car. You've brought it back to what it was intended. I am now a big fan.
It should in my opinion stay Ford power. 289,302or 351w 😎
Fantastic survivor, I would buy this Fairlane !!
Now that's the way ya do it. Teach um young. Shell remember this forever. Daddy.
I had a 1963 4-door Fairlane 500 in that same color scheme, 1970-73. It had an anemic in-line six; that little V8 must’ve been such a better prime mover. This is one of your best yet.
I’m going to stick my nose in your life a little. I listen to your videos through my new Bluetooth hearing aids. Please wear noise protection when running power tools. You’ll be glad you did years from now!
I miss my 67 Fairlane XL . Fun ride.
You're so fortunate that she is interested in cars and stuff
This is my favorite car. Had a body from the fin cars era. The next year it had round tail lights. Put in a 5.0 Mustang motor. You have a Sleeper! Ford. Shawn
Fins were gone for 64..
I hope you do encourage her to learn all about cars. 😊
I've always loved the bird license plate. I thought it was the best looking one ever.
It turned out great. The hub caps are perfect. Great helper that you have there. Thanks for sharing this with us.
How can hubcraps be perfect, nonsense, why have a grandma look that's really old and boring. Wheelcovers no longer acceptable, they make any car/truck lame get with it
What is wrong with the black wheels/ black body seems quite matching really, hubcraps are so lame like engine covers and bumper stickers
Love to see a 60’s Ford Family Pic with the Galaxy, Fairlane and T-bird.
Wow that is hard to believe that you were able to make it look like that.
She was definitely hiding some fairly pretty paint 😊 I hope you enjoy!
Hi bro from west Alabama
@@BudgetBuildz hey dude
.. you should have used some 0000 steel wool on the bumper before the polish
And you can straighten out that bumper
Use a piece center joist lumber and a dead blow and soft hammer
@@BudgetBuildz what happened to the’63 Mercury Comet????
Great job powering thru working in the cold while sick. That car really cleaned up better than expected. Hopefully some skilled hammer/dolly work can improve the rear bumper.
Make sure to pay your daughter for her help so it is just child labor, and not slave labor. 😁 Great seeing you include your kids as they get older.
Would like to see the trio of mafia cars driving together. Continental, Galaxie and Fairlane. I think my favorite is still the Galaxie. I recently got to see and talk with the owner of a Comet Caliente. Have enjoyed the rehabilitation of these cars and the Thunderbird as well. I especially like that you get most of your vehicles road worthy.
I'm amazed how well it cleaned up with just the rinse down, wow!
Those are great looking little cars, my sister and brother had them middle to late 60s and 70's
Michael so wonderful to see your daughter lending a hand. It so important to have our children learn from us and her enthusiasm certainly show through.
AND the car looks fantastic! Looking forward in seeing it on the road. Happy Holidays to you, your Dad, and your family🎄🎄
Looks awesome... if your ever in my neck of the woods with that car we can go cruising with that one and my 1965 ford fairlane 500.
You did a great inprovement with the black 62 ford. I was amazed at the inprovement
Anytime you video the revival of a vintage ride, I'm gonna be right there watching and being amazed at how it looks when finished!!!! Great Video!!!!
Well done ! Well done , nice to see young little girl to get in there !❤
Family involvement is precious; Great video and nice looking’62 Ford Fairlane!Take Care, Your Oregon Friend.☮️
Wow! What a difference! Thanks for going over step by step the procedure for restoring the paint. Car looks fantastic. 😃
Awesome Job guys and great to see your daughter getting involved ! Top Work ! Regards MEC from MEC-TEC
It's good to see you saved a fabulous car and best wishes for your daughter, she will be an excellent car restorer.
Mom and Dad had a '62. It was black with red and white interior, full wheel covers, 260 V8 and two-speed auto.
its lookin good , glad the lil car gal is helping!! get well soon !!!!!!!
I love me a '62 Fairlane in Raven Black! It looks fantastic!
WOW !!! She looks sooo much better !!!!!
Great find, cool looking car, excellent work from the young apprentice🥰
I had the "63", 170 i6.
Drove it EVERYWHERE....finally gave it to a friend.....who drove it everywhere. Column shifter was almost non-existent....moved it to the floor with a pile of floor shifter parts..some fabrication was involved
Fantastic job guys!! ... Beautiful 60's car ... I'd be proud to own one and drive it around and it take it shows.....Well done all ... great channel, keep up the great work ....😀👍👍👍
Wow WOW WOW! THIS LOOKS AMAZING... ALL BECASE THATCUTE LITTLE LADY HELPED YALL OUT.
That car turned out amazing for being 60 year old. The ton of crud actually protected the paint. That is going to make a sweet ride. God Bless You and your dad along with Belle. She is definitely a daddy's girl. It's so great to see your dad have such a tight bond. The TransAm yall brought back I woukd have loved to have got my hands. Keep bringing back the oldies
Looks really good that was my very first car back when I was a teenager I'm 61 now
That had the first small block Ford V8. It was a 221 Cubic Inch. It was only used in 1962. Great little engines. A chrome plating shop can straighten and rechrome those bumpers. Not many of these shops left anymore.
Excellent job lot’s of hard work well done from across the pond.🏴
Thank you soo much!!
To avoid hard lines on your paint blend roll your tape. It will make a big difference.
Michael, you got a thumbs up for the restoration. I wish I had another for your helper/camera operator, Belle.
Amazing you can bring a car back 😁😁💟
I'm not even halfway through the video, but I have seen enough of your work to know that the finished product is worlds better than what you started with. As for the trim, there's a guy in Canada that could possibly bring it back around, like he did for his Fury. #coldwarmotors
My dad always told me to start at the top! I miss him and think of him everyday! You are lucky to have such a great father.🙂
Merry Christmas to your family and dad. Glad u feeling better stay safe plz 🎄💯🇱🇷
What a lovely motor, I envy you..MORE..God Bless Henry Ford [Despite his faults]..UK
This is definitely a keeper. I know this is your livelihood but sometimes you have to enjoy the results a little longer before parting ways.
That old Ford looks really good. Yall did a great job on it
Really enjoy. The old school approach you tank un the cars great job you buys
Orange hand cleaner and a green scrub pad works awesome on rusty chrome.
Love the mini series format rather than just will it run. Keep the great content coming
Thank you for your APPRECIATION to your subscribers
Loves how the kid drops yellow rag on the ground and just picks it up and continues to rub into the black paint.
The drivers side front fender came out the best!!!
FANTASTIC...who'd of thought this old girl was in such good condition under all that fungus and mold !!
All it needs is nice dual exhaust. Great car very clean. Good detail 👍
Another one rescued....great video...I wish I had your weather, it's always calm and sunny, even in "Winter"
😳🤔😀😏🇬🇧
Yeah Brother, from what it was, WOW! Great job of taking care of this black beauty. Can't wait for the mechanicals video. Thanks Bro!
It is so fantastic that you are sharing these skills with your kids. Best thing you can do.
I did not have a dad,but my uncle started teaching me to work on cars when I was just ten years old. Now, almost 50 years later, I still love cars!
Beautiful car!! I think she might be a great detailer someday or one of the next “ All Girls Garage” hosts! Need more women in the car industry! Awesome job!
Auction. Really nice car. All original. They're desired cars. 2 Door.
Amazing!! Old Lacquer factory paint just way better than modern enamel finishes. Buff it out it's just like new. It does look way better on the 14's. 5 lug Ford 13's are impossible to find most of them got used up on trailer conversions back in the day.
Oh no! They flushed off the patina! (/sarcasm, just to be clear)
It came out looking sweet!
Also, heartwarming to see the next generation chipping in on the job!
Came out gorgeous!!
This USA 🇺🇸 built car has endured the times of change, quality steel and craftsmanship. Nice! Proud ownership took care of this Ford along its journey. Thanks for the vid. 2022 Merry Christmas to all the Family of this channel.
I had a 61 Thunderbird in Raven black with an eggshell white interior it was gorgeous original paint job I sold it to a friend of mine who still owns it and it's still beautiful.
Wonderful survivor Fairlane! You’ve done a great job so far, bringing this barn find back to life. Keep up the great work!
Amazing what you can do with these old cars here’s wish you and your family a very merry Christmas
She came out great, good to see that your daughter likes helping out 😄. Next time it will her rescuing her first classic
That sure looks like a kid who is hooked! She has it down perfect, even the cleanup! Fantastic opportunity. Cherish it man.
My father in law showed my a chrome cleaning trick. Water dipped aluminum foil. A lot of elbow grease foil and looks great
Involving your kids is so cool!!
